What can I do with all the baby stuff I no longer need? The bags (and bags) of clothes can go to the charity shop - that's fine. But where do you get rid of big things like prams, especially ones that are no longer the latest fashion! It seems criminal to take them to the tip, but it seems to be the only option, as I don't really want to sell anything on ebay etc. We also have an immaculate car seat, but don't know what to do with that because of the safety issues.

These things are taking over the house - I need help.:teeth:

I believe that the womens refuge are grateful for equiptment.

You could try Social Services. They would have a register of people who need or will be needing that type of assistance.

The Salvation Army are also often grateful for offers of this type.

Thanks both - those are excellent ideas. I shall look into it a.s.a.p.

Some hospitals (maternity depts) will take prams and things and give them to young mums, or needy mums. They are also grateful for baby blankets and clothing if you have any spares. I remember the midwife gave me an awful grey holey blanket to wrap my son in...they said that was all they had. I made sure I donate all my unwanted baby bedding to them now and they are really grateful!!

Any t.shirts that you have, with motifs on the front, you know the ones you buy to remind you of a holiday. A girlfriend of mine, has cut off the fronts and made them into a quilt for the child whose t-shirts they were! He's now 18 and off to college and has a great reminder of his childhood. I have saved all DS10 t-shirts and aim to do the same thing! I couldn't bear to part with t'shirts that we bought to commemorate trips!! What memories! As to big equipment, what about local nurseries?

if the condition of the items is not to bad why don't you give ebay a try? You could earn your self a little extra cash maybe?

T16GEM - I think I'm more of an ebay buyer, not a seller!!:teeth: I have already got a bit of cash taking some stuff to a kids seconds shop, but they didn't want prams (too big and don't sell) and car seats (safety reasons).

I would love to give this stuff to somewhere that really needs it, so I'm following up some of the suggestions. Thanks everyone.:D

........ I had the same problem a while ago and then someone at the kindergarten my son went to, knew of a couple who had quintuplets, which was going to give them financial nightmares and were desperate for any and all baby equipment/bedding/clothes and so we all got our stuff together and it was driven up to them. They were SO grateful!

Naturally, you won't necessarily come across the same situation but I just wonder if there is some association for multiple births who could advise you of anyone desperately needing equipment.
