OT: I am noticing lately some Threads are started just to ANGER DISer's and tonight right now this is one of them. :stir:

To CR: Is that exactly what you wanted to do is start a Thread and see just how many pages it will reach with people flaming you? :stir:

There are just so many fabulous topics to discuss in this World of ours WHY do people have to be RUDE to get a DISCUSSION going. :furious:

It amazes me that every single Thread I read from any OP that the LAST sentence ends in..."go ahead flame me"...I am seriously beginning to think they just need some attention even if it is FLAMING attention. :stir:

I totally agree. CR, inviting people to flame you is damaging to your self esteem. If you want to be happy, that's probably one of the things you can cut out.

And now I've stooped to his level. Shame on me! I hope nobody judges me too harshly.

Boy where is your Disney magic - not to mention compassion or humanity or any type of understanding at all? You should be ashamed of yourself. Many steroids that people take for back injuries pack on the weight. If you can't stand up for long periods of time, much less walk or exercise, the food you do eat goes straight to fat. Diabetes causes the same problems. Self righteous, judgmental people like yourself need not only a lot of therapy but should try walking in the shoes of people whose pain keeps them on wheels instead of enjoying a brisk walk, a game of tennis, or any other kind of find activity. Were you raised where it was okay to condemn people for the way they look?

Isn't this the truth?! My cousin has MS and takes a steroid to alleviate some of her symptoms. This in turn causes her to gain weight. Here at home, she walks with a cane. But when she has to walk greater distances or be on her feet for an extended period, she uses an ECV. As she enjoys eating, she would be one of the people the OP is talking about, I'm sure.

You're at Disney. Have fun with your own family. Someone else's use of an ECV shouldn't concern you.

For the record this post was not about trying to :stir:, you may not believe that but it's the truth. It's something I had on my mind & wanted to get it off my chest.
Since you seem to think so much about this, perhaps you could post detailed lists of just what foods and in what portions various sized people are allowed to eat while on vacation, so as to not offend your sensibilities...

I realize people would be mad at this thread & again I am sorry, really really sorry. That's all I got to say because chances are no matter what else I say you won't care & to resol37 I did not make this thread to be happy. I made it because it was on my mind & it's nothing more then that.

Like I said in an earlier post they can eat what they want while on vacation. However what I don't get is they know how they look because of what they eat, so why not try to eat healthier? It's one way to insure you can live a longer life.

CR: I don't think you are getting it at all. Go back and start again and re-read all the posts and then come back here and decide if you want to PASS JUDGEMENT ON PEOPLE. Get your CRYSTAL BALL down off the shelf and you can tell each and everyone of us just exactly what "cards" we have all been dealt in this great big world of ours.

It's really none of your business what they eat or how they look. According to you, your uncle ate healthier, and he did not live a longer life. So what is your point? :confused3

Mickey: What is UP with you tonight...you post on here and then delete to a "confused" smiley and then a few posts later once again you post something on here and then deleted it again to a "confused" smiley.

I guess you just are not happy with what you said and decided it was better to delete the post! :confused3

I realize saying that may not make sence based on what happened to my Uncle. What I mean is it might not hurt to try & eat healthy, if they have had lived a long time on the foods they use to eat.

That is exactly what I was thinking. I eat healthy all the time but not on vacation. So I will be one of those slightly overweight menopausal women who you better not stare at when I am noshing on the monster turkey leg. (I will split it with DH) :rolleyes1

Isint this thread a repeat?

I for one am a bit on the fluffy side myself..and eat mostly salads for dinners..but when I go on vacation, darn it I am eating a mickey bar..every day if i want to...TWICE if the mood strikes me..
I would rather be fluffy and happy and live my life to the fullest than be skinny miserable and bitter.
and btw..I won't be walking..I'll be skipping :woohoo:

Now who can argue with logic like that?

Something that's on my mind when I visit the boards is incorrect grammar and spelling in posts. I've been a copy editor for two different newspapers and bad grammar irks me a bit. I haven't started a post on it because I'm sure these are all good people, the disboards are not an English class (just like WDW is not a gym), and it isn't my place. A lot of people have a lot of different things on their minds, but you have to pick your battles. You chose this one. This isn't a blog, it's a discussion board for all who would like to use. Since you said that we're welcome to flame you, I don't understand what the problem is.

And what I said before about posting this to make you happy (which is actually not what I said), that was a joke. I wish your original post was as well, but alas 'tis not to be.

I can't believe I'm seeing this thread happen AGAIN! Live and let live. It amazes me that there are adults who must think that life is just one big high school accompanied by all the drama that goes along with that.

I usually try and stay out of the unhappy threads (unless there's an element of humor to them)...however this one REALLY irked me. So please forgive me if I rant for a minute...
I could have stomached most of the originial post...up until the second to last sentence...

...so I think it's unfair that these people who are overweight can keep living like this when a healthy person dies.

WTH?!? Sorry...I've actually re-typed that several times, and that's the nicest way I could do it. I'm not sure it was the OP's intention (I try and believe the best in people), but I read that sentence as saying that my very intelligent (several degrees, including masters), very funny, very charasmatic 6'5/400lb boyfriend deserves to die. Because, and only because, he is overweight and enjoys food.
However, he's never used a wheelchair or an ecv...so does that make him worthy of living?
I'm sorry, but this idea that overweight people are somehow inately unworthy because of their BMI *really* makes my blood boil. (By the way, I am not overweight, nor have I ever been..I'm 5'7/115lbs). I understand that it's not just the OP...this is a belief that seems to be infecting our culture...perhaps she and her family has just been brainwashed. I must say I am also fascinated that she and her family actually watched what other people were eating, while on vacationing and then judgeing those people, based on a 20 minute or so observation.
:furious:
Sorry...I really don't mean to sound rude, or anything like that. Please forgive me. These things just really get under my skin. Once again...sorry for the rant

I actually sat here and attempted to come up with a witty response, but...I bow down to you. I could have sworn I saw a "bowing down" smiley icon on here somewhere but now I can't find it so... :teeth: It'll have to suffice.
