Over the top crowds on Labor Day Weekend??

So I was considering a quick trip with my teens over the Labor Day weekend to see PTN and Disneyland fireworks one more time before they go away. What's stopping me is the fact that it's marathon weekend and also figuring that lots of people had the same idea to go see these shows before they leave.

What do you guys think? We would do a 2 day one park per day ticket for Sat and Sun. Go home on Monday.

I know it will be busy but do you think it will be crazy over the top crowded, like close the park crowded?
Thanks!

Last year we went on Labor day and said NEVER AGAIN. It was painfully crowded. I imagine this year will be worse due to all the factors you mentioned. I would stay away...

We were there for the half marathon last year and ended up only spending a few hours a day in the parks. Just couldn't handle the combo of the crowds and the heat! If you're going for something specific though, it could still be worth it. Be prepared to invest hours in staking out your spot for both shows (maybe try to see one each night?), and just count anything else you can do as a bonus.

Lots of people have the exact same idea. It will be terribly crowded but if you are ok with that then I say go for it and have a great time!

I will be there 9/2-9/8. I expect it to be extremely crowded through the 5th, and then I expect it to lighten up after that, at least that is what I hope. Regardless we will have a great time. We are staying on site so we can take advantage of early entry and take a break or two throughout the day if we want.

Thanks everyone! That's what I thought. We would be coming from 8 hours away so too far to not really get a full experience. I think I will start planning a trip for the spring in order to see the MSEP.

If you could go on a weekday (Tuesday/Wednesday) however the hours are heavily reduced (compared to the Labor Day hours), would you rather go on the weekday or Labor Day? I don't cope well with crowds, or waits over an hour for rides. We planned to go to Disney Saturday-Monday. However, we can be flexible and change our plans around.

We're stopping by Friday evening for the fireworks and PtN on our way to San Diego. I'm expecting huge crowds. Thought about doing a parade package meal, but we PROBABLY won't get there until after 6:20, and we don't want to wait for the last parade. So I think we'll just hang out in the hub to ensure spots for the fireworks, and let my DH take my DD to see the parade while I wait there.
