Over the river and through the woods to Mickey's house we go: The Remix

Coming in on the beginning of this one so I can follow along with all the comments as well as the story. Always love your details and photos.

Lisa, I'm glad you found a doctor that you and John like. I hope the switching of medicines doesn't prove to be too difficult a transition.

I love your story of John not having family vacations and how you now always do them (we NEVER went on vacations...parents couldn't afford it; we've certainly made up for it with just Mark and I and the kids).

Your plans sound great--as always. I had a feeling that you'd end up with all your days at CBR. Like me and CSR, it is so difficult to leave what you love.

I like your idea of telling everyone you are leaving a day earlier so that you don't get pounded on during your "real" last day.

Looking forward to reading more.

John's childhood was not a very pleasant one. I don't mean to imply that they were abused or everything was horrible. There was a lot of sacrifices made because his father was a pastor. His family is also terribly old fashioned and were content to just live in the country and do nothing.

We really were excited about trying another resort but the thought of packing up our stuff two different times sounded too stressful. Hopefully, we'll be able to stay in the same rooms at the CBR and won't have to move.

Glad to have you here and glad to hear that all of my details don't bother you. I sometimes get a little chatty in my posts.

Good luck to John and your entire family during the transition period.

Only a little more than a month to post all your pre-trip details! Don't worry about being too wordy--I like your long trip reports. Since I haven't been able to convince my DH we need to go every year, I get my Disney fix through your reports.

Thank you so much!

I hope I can get my trip report done soon so I can focus on the pre-trip report. I'm glad that you don't mind my wordiness.....my daddy always said I was his "talker".

Too bad you can't get your husband to go to Walt Disney World every year. John will sometimes pick on me and ask if we are ever going anywhere else but then turns around and asks when can we book our next stay.

I'm in. I have to admit...At first I thought I was being directed to your old report! :rotfl:

After reading your intro, I have to say I am glad you decided to keep Hunter too! :thumbsup2

Just joining in. I think it's a good idea to stick with one resort. I can see how it would be fun to try out a new resort, but in the end, really not worth the hassle of packing and unpacking. We did that our last trip and wished we hadn't. 10 nights at CBR sounds perfect. :cloud9:

I can't complain too much. Our first trip was in 2007, 7 days at All Star Movies. The next trip was last May/June for 13 days, 1 night at Pop and the rest at WL ( yea 40% pin code!!). He hates letting go of the money, but he really enjoys the time there. He justified the 13 days to other people by saying "We might as well stay longer and make it like 2 trips but only paying for 1 flight."

Now that our girls are older, we are probably going to drive next time. Also, we just paid off my car, his truck and our land will be paid for in the next 18 months=much more disposable income=Disney more often! I love my math!

We are probably going to Disneyland next fall. My girls birthdays are in Sept & Oct. I want to take them for DLs Halloween, mostly the Nightmare Before Christmas Haunted Mansion. My youngest DD5 loves Jack. We would be able to see the new rides and maybe Carsland at DL. Then we could go back to WDW the next year when Fantasyland is done!

Count me in as one of the ones that does not mind how "wordy" your posts are! I am the same way, and appreciate all the detail and background. It makes me feel more like I am there and living vicariously thru you, so I can feel like I'm at WDW sooner than next year! :lmao:

Hey! I tried and tried to think of another pre-trip report name and couldn't come up with anything. I figured the same name but a remix sounded just as good as anything else I came up with.

Yeah, I am happy that we decided to keep Hunter. I can't imagine our household without him.:rotfl:

Welcome aboard! I am much happier now that I know we aren't going to have to pack up all our junk and move to another resort. Even if we don't get to keep the same room, at least we'll already be at the resort.

I was so happy that we decided to add another night to our stay. It'll give us one more day at the happiest place on Earth.

Wow! 13 days at Disney! I wouldn't complain too much either.;)

I see absolutely nothing wrong with your math skills. Sounds just like the ones I have been taught.

I've always wanted to go to Disneyland but it would be at least a two full day drive for us. I think it'd be great to experience Halloween there.

I don't feel so bad now about being a talkative kind of gal.:thumbsup2 Like I said, I just type what I feel/think and the posts become longer and longer.

Just followed you over from the May thread.

CBR looks beautiful and very relaxing. I can't wait to see all of you pictures when you get back.

I love your back stories!! Keith did not travel much growing up and in some ways had it tough. He started traveling in the military and has pretty much seen the world, but family vacations were not something he did until we got married. My family was always traveling and pulling goofy stunts. Oh the stories! One year my dad's company gave him a "new" car....a station wagon! :scared1: My dad is one that turns lemons into lemonade so we come home from school preparing to go to Colorado when what do we see? My dad had put a rocking chair on top of the car and tied one of my stuffed dogs to the bumper.....we refer to our family vacations as the Griswolds...So all of that to say, I loved your stories of your childhood trips!! :lmao:

So glad your Mom decided to go and Lacey is able to go. 10 days at CBR! How sweet!!

Thanks for coming over! I am soooooo ready for this vacation!

Oh my gosh! I laughed outloud at your rocking chair tied to the top of the car story! The first thing I thought of was the Beverly Hillbillies with Granny in the rocker and then I thought of Aunt Edna on top of the Griswolds station wagon. That sounds like something John would do just to embarass the kids.

I wondered when you'd be starting a PTR...glad to be subbing in! :thumbsup2

Hopefully everything works out well for John, I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Are you doing any DISmeets on your trip? It looks like our dates overlap a bit :)

Lisa- I love your idea about telling everyone you're leaving on the 23rd.
I love your description of Turkeytown. It's so sad that all of the horse farms are gone.
How many miles do you travel that first day of driving?

Hey! Welcome! Thanks for the finger crossing for John.

The only Dis Meet that I know I'll be having is an itty bitty one that I just found out about last week. One of my friends that I met on the Disboards is going to spend the morning with us in Epcot. I know that there was another one floating around but I remember my plans didn't line up with the meet.
:guilty:

I have been known to tell clients that we are closing early just so it puts pressure on them to get here 5 minutes before we close.

Poor little Turkeytown and the pretty horse farms. They looked so pathetic last time we went by them.

If we stop at the Jameson Inn in Crestview, we will have traveled about 410 miles. Last trip, we didn't make it to the hotel until 1 a.m.

I'm here!! I just got back from my first solo trip yesterday, and your TR was the first thread I went to (I'll post there too!).

Once I get my pics and thoughts organized, I'm going to attempt my first ever trip report...will post a link here if that's alright.

And yes - I did think of you and your family while I was there!

Lisa I'm in! I can't believe your annual trip is getting so close. Great intro and start.:goodvibes So, no little taste of something different this year? CBR is great, I guess too hard to not spend all your nights there.;) I know you are stoked to have both the kids and Mama going along this year. Looking forward to all your plans.

Loving all the plans so far, especially the being there 10 days. And I don't mind at all that you are a wordy woman. I enjoy the read!

I'm glad the new doctor seems to be good and having fresh ideas about how to treat John's epilepsy.

And I'm glad that you are! :thumbsup2 I know that you've been super busy with the wedding plans. Hope that your mother is doing better.

Busy is an understatement! But I like it because it really is making the time fly before I leave, which is in 16 days!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

My mom is more and more tired, but we knew it would happen. It's the side effect of her therapy, which they said would hit her atbout a month after she was done the therapy.

HI Lisa,
10 Nights sounds fantastic!! Lucky you. How wonderful Lacey will be joining you! She will always remember and treasure this 'last' vacation with her parents and brother..

Your so right, there is NO other place that will ever compare to Disney...we always debate...'where should we go on vacation....Vegas, Miami, Montreal... well, it always comes back to Disney...

My husband did not vacation much with his family either...I was so excited he fell in love with Disney on our Honeymoon.
