Over the River and Through the Woods to Mickey's House We Go! And Grandma is in Tow!

WOW! Your party turned out GREAT!!!! You really know how to throw a DISNEY party! Wish I could of been there! Hope everyone enjoyed themselves!

It looks like your party was great fun!! Thank you for sharing with us. I LOVE the Mickey cheese spread......lol. The sugar cookies look yummy too with the different colored sugar on them. I have enjoyed reading your pre-trip report, can't wait til you take your vacation and do a trip report on it. Caribbean Beach was the first resort we stayed at onsite and we loved it. Hope you all have a wonderful vacation....not too much longer to go!!

I actually used a cake pan to make the cheese spread. I found the pan on ebay several years ago and I don't think I've made but one cake with it. Mostly, I make big rice krispie treats and cheese spreads in it.

I am soooo ready to get to Disney World.

Congrats on the new improved garden! Party looked like lots of fun!

I have a feeling that I'm going to be weeding every day. The ground hasn't been worked in so many years and the grass had grown over it. Oh well, it'll be nice to work in the garden.

We had a lot of fun at the party!

o wow! the fooood loooooks sooooooo goooooooood, make more for me please!:rotfl: party look like it turn out swell:)

If you were closers, I'd definitely invite you over for a few Mickey shaped goodies!

Lisa your party turned out GREAT :thumbsup2:goodvibes. I swear I could have reached in and got me a strawberry :rotfl2:. It looks like everybody had a good time at the party.

Hunter seems to be having a good time with that tiller. I hated doing garden work growing up . I swore that when I was grown I would never do gardening again. Now I would love to have a garden and grow some fresh veggies. I don't have the time nor the area to plant a garden, so I am out of luck :sad2:.

I'd love to be snacking on those strawberries right now too. We did have a good time at the party. It was nice to sit and chat with my cousins who I hadn't seen in a while.

Hunter was loving working in the garden. I remember working in the garden when I was younger but I always liked it. I was a daddy's girl and if my daddy was doing it, I was doing it.

It looks like your going to have a nice big garden, my garden is nowhere near that big but I have flower beds on all sides of our house I love being out in the yard in my bare feet too it does feel good under your feet you'll have to show us pics after everything starts coming up!

Your party looks like so much fun and now I really feel the need to make River a Mickey shaped p&j sandwhich I wish I had a Mickey shaped cutter!

We ALL had our shoes off walking in the dirt. It just felt so good. John could spend all weekend working in the yard. He's in heaven when there's yardwork to be done.

I just sent you a p.m.

WOW! Your party turned out GREAT!!!! You really know how to throw a DISNEY party! Wish I could of been there! Hope everyone enjoyed themselves!

If you lived closer, you would have definitely been on the guest list!

I usually go all out on party decorations but I kept this one pretty low key. But thanks for the compliment.

We had four complete families at the party and then my other two guests couldn't come. There were actually more people there than what is in the pictures. Most of the kids were in Hunter's room playing PlayStation games.

The bingo game was fun especially since we are all Disney fans.

I looked for the name tag things at Wal-Mart but couldn't find them. But, then again, they were changing their craft department around and there was some stuff in baskets and buggies so they could have been there.

I really think you did a great job Lisa! I'd say you had a pretty big party then if you didn't have all the folks photographed. I'd hate to see your idea of a big party! :scared1: :lmao:

I saw the name tag things in the office supply area of our Walmart. :confused
Our Walmart has been shuffling too.

Great party Lisa! My invitation must have been lost in the mail! :confused3

I love the Mickey-shaped cheeseball. What a great idea! And the cookies turned out perfect! I actually prefer my cookies with sugar as opposed to frosting! YUM!

Thanks! I usually go alllllll out on party decorations but didn't really do that this time. I was more focused on getting Mickey themed food.

I thought the cookies and cheeseball were my favorites.

Let's see Lacey once had 47 boys and girls show up to one of her birthday parties. My mother's surprise 70th B-Day party had over 100 guests. My usual "let's get together" parties have between 30 and 50 people.

My house is the "go to" house for parties.

Ya'll, I've seriously got to get my behind in gear or I'll never ever get this pre-trip report finished. I'm still trying to get my 2009 trip report done too. Thankfully, I'm down to the last half day on the trip report.:thumbsup2

I don't have my notes in front of me but I do know that Day 3 at Walt Disney World will be our Hollywood Studios day! It's also Star Wars Weekends! I threw in the two !'s on Hunter's behalf 'cause I really don't give a flippidy dippidy about Star Wars but he does.

The plan is for Hunter and I to get up early and head to Hollywood Studios. Mama and John will follow along some time later. I have no real idea how Star Wars Weekends work. I've read a little but not a lot but I do know that the big tip is to get there early. Guess since we are leaving in less than a month, I'd starting boning up a bit on my Star Wars Weekends knowledge. But, you'd also think that I'd have our countdown calendar done by now too but that ain't happened yet.:rolleyes1

Moving on.:rolleyes1 Hunter and I will arrive early and I'm sure we'll run into a whole 'nother level of folks than we're used to seeing during our previous trips to Hollywood Studios. From what few pictures I have seen of the Storm Troopers and other Star Wars characters wandering around, I know that Hunter is going to freak the heck out when he gets there. **Note to self...pack paper bag just in case Hunter starts hyperventilating.

I'm sure that we'll head straight towards wherever the characters and Star Wars actors are. I've read that you can get Fastpasses instead of standing in line but I guess those work just like regular Fastpasses and we can't have more than one at a time (or 2 hours later). The rest of our time, we'll be standing there with everybody else waiting for autographs.

One thing I do know is that this will be Hunter's day. Everything that day will be about what he wants to see next. (I say that now but I am sure that the rest of us will have a little say but as far as Star Wars stuff, that's all his decision.) I even let him pick where we are eating that day....dinner at Sci-Fi.

And, that's pretty much all I know about what Hunter and I will be doing. Man oh man, I didn't realize until I started typing this that I am a dumb bunny when it comes to this Star Wars Weekends thing.

Sometime later in the morning, John and Mama will arrive. I want to try and see and do as much as we can because I only have one day set aside for Hollywood Studios. That may change when I see whether or not we got to see "the good stuff". Good stuff like Tower of Terror, Rock 'n Roller Coaster, Toy Story Mania, etc. Seriously, I have no real plan of attack other than getting those darn Star Wars Weekend lines done first.

Speaking of Toy Story Mania, let me throw in a few pics 'cause this installment is lacking in the picture department:

At this point in time, I'll probably run over to Rock 'n Roller Coaster or Tower of Terror and get Fastpasses. Mama will sit out the coaster and both she and Hunter will sit out the tower. I'm not sitting out either one as I found out last year that Tower of Terror is AWESOME! For years and years, I wouldn't even consider riding it but John talked me into it last trip and I loved it! Hunter said I only loved it because he and Lacey were in the lobby, literally, holding hands and praying for me.:littleangel:

Another thing that we want to see is:

DSCN1645.jpg

I know that John wants Mama to see the show just so she'll see how well done it is. I'm not a car chasing, motorcycle riding kinda gal and neither is Mama but I like the show and I think Mama will too. John wants Mama to see and do everything because he doesn't think he'll ever get her back to Disney.

Again, pictures from last year:

I told you earlier that I have no real plan of attack so I'm just going to randomly find pictures on Photobucket and post pics of what are on our "really wanna do" list. Top of Mama's list of is the Backlot Tour. Why? Because the last time she was there, the tour included going through the neighborhood of houses. She still remembers the house from Golden Girls. She can't believe that they are all gone now. So, she wants to see how the tour is now.

**Continued in next post.

We want to see Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular:

And I know we'll have to take Hunter's picture here because it's a tradition:

Mama said she kind of remembers the Great Movie Ride so we'll have to go there too:

I can't wait until we get to this part because my mother absolutely positively completely can't stand Wizard of Oz. I know! What the? She said it used to come on all the time and she just got tired of it.

Ooops, just found the Rock 'n Roller Coaster pics I took last year.

***Gotta stop. Judge's office is on the phone. When a Judge's secretary calls, you gotta listen.

Great update Lisa! We did Star Wars Weekend on the first Saturday of it last year. After about 2 hours it got super crowded. We were like this...:crowded:

Be sure to see as many characters as you can and don't miss the special parade. I love the classic Disney characters in Star Wars gear.:thumbsup2 So neat and a rare opportunity.

Hope the news from the Judge's secretary was good news. :goodvibes

:lmao: That is tooooooo funny!

Hey, what do you think your odds are of getting Mama "volunteered" to be an extra in the Indiana show? ;) AND, how could you hate Wizard of Oz? :confused3

Sounds like you do have a plan for HS day. I would brush up on Star Wars weekends too and try to see what you'll be up against and what a good plan of attack would be. We only have one day put aside for HS too, and last year we only ended up with half a day there because of rain, so we have a lot to cover there too.

I loved the Lights motor action stunt show and this year we want to see Indiana Jones.

I wasn't planning on the backlot tour and great movie ride, but your pics look pretty neat. Do you recommend it?

We also have a reservation for Sci Fi, that rest looks SO neat!!!!

I only have a few minutes (sneaking in this post in between typing an 15 page document) but wanted to share a silly video that I made of Hunter. We got our Mickey Mail the other day and this was his reaction:

He's such a silly boy!

That was too stinkin' funny Lisa! :thumbsup2 I laughed out loud in the middle of our quiet boring office. Some peeps outside my office are lookin' at me know. :lmao:

Hey Lisa. I am finally caught up with your last trip report & this one. You & your family appear to have fun no matter where you are or what you're doing.

If I remember correctly you weren't sure where the Hidden Mickeys were at the Stunt Show. It looks like they're the blue window shutters on the bottom left of the two buildings in this picture.

Glad that I could provide you with a little bit of laughter during your work day. Hunter is a ham and a half. One of those dance moves (the one with his hand behind his head) is the one that he had all the characters doing last year.

We just love spending time together and I think it shows. We like to laugh and we love to hug.

Ooooh, I see it!

First...who doesn't like the Wizard of Oz?? I'm not sure that's even legal! ;)

Second.....you go Hunter!! That's exactly how we all feel when the Mickey Mail comes!!

Please thank Hunter for the good laugh that video gave me this morning! :rotfl: He is SO funny! Plus- that is exactly what I want to do when I get Mickey Mail!
