What a fun update! I too found the character interaction at LTT to be some of the best...what a shame they decided to stop it. It was a pretty good meal too! And you know, I think if you look up cute in the dictionary, you'll see Brookyln's pictures right underneath! It's nice to see your family having a nice time together! Thanks for sharing!
It was a fun evening! It does seem like maybe they should keep some character meals here for those who still want them. They could alternate nights of character/non-character meals or something. I'm just glad we got to do it before it ended.
Oh my gosh, Davy Jones is going to be there when you go!!! I used to love to watch The Monkee's!!
Thank you, I really don't think I could stand to go to that cemetary again!!!!![]()
I watched the Monkees, too. I stayed in the same hotel as they were staying in once when I was young. We never saw them, but the buzz about the building is that they were there. It was on one of our Florida trips with some extended family, but I don't remember what beach we were at. I was young, so all I cared about was that there was a beach and a pool! It was before they were big, so we really didn't think so much about it until we later saw that were getting popular.
Like I said, I was no huge Davy Jones fan, although I did think he was cute. I usually think of the Brady Bunch episode when I think of him. How is it that stars just always seemed to find their way into the Brady living room?
Whether I'm interested in any TV or movie personality or not, I think if they're right there to see in person, you might as well see them just to say you did. Just like with the Candlelight Processional - I 'don't know diddly' (a southern term, I believe) about Rita Moreno or John O'Hurley, but it was still cool to see them in person just because they were there. I don't really know if Kay was into The Monkees or not. If she was, then we might stay for the whole concert, but if not, we'll probably listen to two or three songs, get a few pictures, and then move on.
I would have said 'skeedaddle', but that have been a bit too Granny Clampett for some of our northern friends!

That meal looked very yummy!
The roast was melt-in-your-mouth tender and good. We all thought that was the best item on the menu. The cobbler was really good, too, so I hate that the others missed out.
this is so cute!
of course she did. she's a smart lady!![]()
Brooklynn's meal got interrupted many times for characters here. They just came one right after the other.
I wasn't sure how Jarvis would feel about characters, but he was great. He seemed to have fun with it. You never know how weird your friends are going to think you are when they find out you pay big bucks to eat with characters!
Looks like you had a fun and yummy meal! The characters look neat all dressed up. I'm glad we had a change to eat there in 2003.
Me, too. I was so glad we got that reservation before it ended. I'm learning that if Disney is doing something now, give it a try before it goes away! I think these pictures will become more special as the years go by just because those cute character outfits are no longer around. In my mind, I think reservations would drop off here, but I guess Disney knows better than I do.
That looks SO yummy--I could definitely go for some of that roast beef and green beans right now. I'm so sad that it's not a character meal anymore; I would have liked to get my mom to add it as an ADR, but we mostly liked going for the characters.
I cracked up at your comment about Trent, even though I think he looks fine.![]()
At least you got to go before it ended, right? You would have missed it this time, anyway. I think it ended at the beginning of January.
Trent looks really nice when he's clean shaven and has on his khakis and a collared shirt, I think, but he can look like a mountain man when he gets scruffy. I don't mind a couple of days worth of scruff, but I don't like it to get long. I've never cared for facial hair on men, but I know a lot of them like it and a lot of women like it. A couple of days is good, but after that, I start fussing at him to find the razor!
Hey Memom, Let me introduce myself. I live next door in Arkansas, about 45
minutes from Memphis. I have been lurking around the trip report boards for
a couple of years and always look foward to reading about your trips.
I just want you to know how much I enjoy reading about your trips and your
photos are wonderful. I will be welcoming my first grandchild in April and can't
wait until I can share a trip to Disney with him.
This is my family

Sorry, the photo is so small, I'm not very handy with photobucket.
Welcom to our group! I'm glad you've been enjoying the reports and pictures. I can't see your photobucket picture this morning, though, so I can't see you guys. Maybe you can work on it again when you have time.
We went to Little Rock when we first picked up Drew from the Memphis airport many years ago. At the time, Nashville was not an international airport, so his flight was from Seoul to LA and then LA to Memphis. We knew another family that had gotten their baby girl from Korea just a few months earlier, so the day after we got Drew, we just drove over to Little Rock to see them for a while before we drove back to Nashville. Other than that, I've been to Arkansas for church youth group things, and that's about it. You'll have to share more of your fine state with us as you join in. Now that you've 'talked', you have to join in more often. Make yourself at home!
Congratulations on your new baby, too! You are going to go nuts over him! They are great just to cuddle with and love on when they are tiny, but as they grow, they just become more and more fun! Brooklynn and I played party kitchen yesterday for a while, and she made me the nicest bologna, cheese, lettuce, tomato, peanut butter, jelly and potato chip concoction with her plastic food! It was delicious! Her expressions were so cute as she watched me chomp away on all of it. We read books and watched Little Mermaid (I know you are all surprised) and Lion King II - Simba's Pride. She is at the questioning stage right now.
Why Simba do that?
Where his mommy go?
What Pummba said?
What she (Ariel) doing?
Dat shark goin' to get Flounder? (She very well knows he is not, She has seen this movie once or twice or seven hundred times before!!!)
Ariel goin' to be in big trouble! (spoken when Ariel fails to show up at her concert)
You are going to love sharing Disney World with him. Just watching those little eyes try to take it all in and seeing the smiles is just too awesome for words. I'll just say, you will love it more than ever with him along!
MeMom.....I had a dream about you and Jill and Brooklyn..It was us meeting up outside of Rainforest Cafe.![]()
That's funny! I imagine that dream will happen in real life someday - right there at the hippo!

We bought that mug last time we were there. They are so fun!
Now that I look back at the menu, I see that it says nineteen dollars with the drink. I didn't pay any attention to that at first. I really just forgot all about asking because I was all caught up in the family, food, and fun of the day. I like having Disney mugs at home, too. We've got a bunch of resort mugs and holiday mugs to remind us of good times past! I really wiah they'd go back to resort specific mugs, too, but now that they've gone generic with them, I'm not getting my hopes up. They could even keep the generic ones for the drink deal but have some regular cups (resort ones) you could buy in the gift shop that you could bring home as souvenirs.
