Over the river and through the FUN!

To clarify after riding Pirates we all headed to the bus stop. MeMom stopped along the way to take pictures (I know you are all shocked.) She said she would just meet us at the bus stop she wanted to get a picture of the castle. We called her from the bus stop when the bus arrived to see if she was close and she was still standing in front of the castle with 20 minutes until the lighting ceremony began. We headed back to the hotel and she took pictures without feeling like anyone was rushing her.

Oh, Jill, can I just say how super excited I am that now you can just pop on and clear things up for us now!

Why am I not surprised that MeMom never made it to the bus stop? :lmao:

Yes, the Jack Sparrows you see on that ride DO look VERY real. I will embarrassingly admit that the first time we went on it, we really thought some of them were real.

I know it's been said, but not by me and it's just a fact that needs to be repeated - Trent and Jarvis are very good looking (and dressed as pirates only adds to that pirate: ). ::yes::

Yes, taking notes while on a trip really is a must in order to remember everything correctly. At the end of every day I would take time to write down what happened. I never use to do that before writing TRs. :rotfl:

That show for the castle lighting looks like a lot of fun. And someday I plan to get there for the holidays.

I think we were typing at the same time this morning, because I didn't see your post.

I think everyone is amazed at the realness of Jack Sparrow. He's so real it's kinda creepy.

I take notes sporadically. I try to go through the pictures at night and sort of jot down what I remember, but I'm usually exhausted, so I don't do too well.

We're hoping to see castle lights again in December. If all goes well, Jill and I and the little girls will be going after Christmas and staying through New Year's Day. We're hoping for that, anyway!

One day I hope to experience that castle lighting show in person -- I watched it on youtube last year and got all teary-eyed just watching someone's shaky home video. I am such a sap. ;)

That photo of everyone dressed as pirates is great! I noticed that Jarvis and Trent's hooks don't really fit on them too well. :lmao:

You have to be immersed in the crowd and see it in person, but youtube is pretty good for giving you a glimpse of it.

You're a sap. I'm a sap.
There are a bunch of saps around this place!

No, I think their hands are just a bit large for the hooks.

Good to see everyone getting into the spirit at the POTC gift shop, fun pic!

The castle pics are Beautiful. Someday.....:goodvibes

I just got a heating bill for the last 2 mths and all I can say is OUCH! Be glad you are not living here. I need a group hug. :grouphug:

You are off to church and I'm off to work, enjoy the day! Stay warm. :sunny:

It warmed up into the thirties today. Drew just came in and was saying how warm it feels out there!

The heating bill will still be awful. I'm trying to keep it low and turn lights out whenever I can to take the sting out of it a little.

I saw the castle all lit up in November and it about brought me to tears. It's just breathtaking! Great pictures MeMom.

See, CP? Another sap.

I thought Trent and Jarvis went to ride a mountain.

I was in Disney World! I needed to be out walking and taking pictures.
Sleeping can be done any time!!!

the party is over. trip and DVC have been canceled. Biff looked at his account and noticed $20,000 missing and can't remember where it went so now the money we make on this sale will go to a car and not DVC. Oh well.

Great update and pics.

Looks like everyone was having a good time.

That sign was not there last month.

I am sorry on both counts. That would have been so cool.
I can't imagine anyone having that much money, period, much less missing and he didn't notice it.
I don't have $20, much less $20,000.

Thanks for answering about the sign.

::yes:: :cool1: :upsidedow ::yes:: princess: :thumbsup2 INCREDIBLE!!!:thumbsup2 princess: ::yes:: :upsidedow :cool1: ::yes::

You like it, do you? :)

Hi Memom and Jill!

I finally have some time to be on the DIS now that the holidays are over!

I'm all caught up now and enjoying all the wonderful photos!

The tree outside AK is beautiful and I loved seeing the jungle parade all decked out for Christmas!
I love the parades, but my kids would often prefer to be doing something else. In a few years, they will probably be old enough to do their own thing, while I watch the parades.

The castle looks beautiful all lit up! I didn't realize their was a show for the lighting.

We had the characters visit us twice at LTT when we went a year ago. We will really miss the characters there, but I think the kids will want to go back anyway, they still talk about how much they liked dinner there!

I will have to figure out a way to visit over Thanksgiving or Christmas in the next couple of years!

Jill - congrats on your internet at home!!!

I do like the parades, and I'm lucky that Jill does, too. It's never really a question of if we're going to see them.

The AK tree is/was awesome!

I'm glad you got to do Liberty Tree with characters. The food was good enough to go back, but it'll be after we've marked some more new ones off our list.

I hope you get there on the holidays. I'm sure you will in time.

Hello. I have been reading along and just caught up on everything. This TR is fabulous and I can't wait to hear the rest. All the pictures are wonderful and Brooklynn is so cute.

We're always glad to have new readers! I'm glad you enjoy the pictures. Brooklynn is a mess - that's what she is!!!

Hi Memom, Jill and gang!
I am still here following along. I don't seem to have much energy at the end of the day to think of something to type....so sorry. I really love love love all of the pics of the parades and stores and castle and everything! I am so enjoying your trippie! :goodvibes

You pull yourself away from sewing occasionally, huh? I hope all is well with you and your girls. What did Brooke get/do for her birthday?

The castle is so beautiful with all of the lights on it! I'm hoping that I can talk Patrick into going with me this next Christmas season to see it...Great update MeMom! I'm glad that Jill has finally gotten the internet! Now she can do more updating (and post pics of the new baby soon!)

We'll keep our fingers crossed for a Christmas trip!

I'm looking forward to her being able to put up baby pictures, too, since I'm not with her on a daily basis.

Joining....better late than never! Your little girl is too cute!

Yay for another new reader! I'm glad we don't have to delete old readers to make way for new ones, like that commercial does! There's room here for everyone! :flower3:

Oh, Jill, can I just say how super excited I am that now you can just pop on and clear things up for us now!

Letting out the little comedian in yourself tonight, CP??? :p

(I never knew there was a stick-out-your-tongue smilie, but it appeared just for you!)

Don't you have some school work to do or something?!?!?

I made it to the bus stop....

eventually! :)

Glad I am in good company -- the sap in me surfaces anytime Disney is concerned. The kids and I watched the 2009 planning DVD last night and just that alone had me getting all choked up. :rotfl:

Awwww, a smilie just for me!!! :goodvibes :lmao:

No schoolwork for me -- we have tomorrow off -- la, la, la, la! So instead I can catch up on my 39 subscriptions from earlier today since I spent the majority of my day scrapbooking the June trip.

Glad you were able to find the bus stop...eventually! :rotfl:

I just watched the Disney planning DVD too last noght and I choked up too.

Jill so glad to hear that your internet is all hooked up and working. I went about a year without it awhile back and it was awful.

hi Memom,
Great pictures. Hubby and I took our alone trip in Dec. and I can say it was definitly different from having the grandkids with us. We did have a good time but always caught ourselves naming one of the kids and saying they would like this. My granddaughters (6) favorite ride is ToT. I actually called her as we were getting in the seats and she "rode " with us and heard all the screaming, and she loved it, LOL. I did the same thing with my grandson (7) on Splash Mountain, and told him he was riding with me. My other grandsons
(4) fav. is Buzz but he was sleeping when we rode it. We are now planning a trip 1st of Oct. and with a new baby one the way I am praying my daughter will find a way to be able to go so the kids can really ride ToT and Buzz. Take care and keep warm,as I am trying to do up here in frozen Northern Indiana. We have 18 degrees right now, Brrr. Kids are finally in school after 3 days off last week due to the below 0 cold.

Hi Memom:
Hope you had a good weekend. DH and I went away this weekend for my college roommates wedding (who I am a little jealous of right now because she is on her way to sunny, warm Rivera Maya, Mexico and i just braved COLD COLD tempatures and snow for her wedding---that just shows how good of a friend I am.:rotfl: ) It was my first time away from Caleb and I did good but came home exhausted and remembered that I still had to take care of a baby...but I got him to take a nap then so did I.

My parents were at the wedding this weekend and I found out something interesting from them. I get to plan a trip to WDW sooner than I thought. Turns out my parents are dying to take Caleb and DNewphew(2) to WDW...we are hoping sometime in 2010 probably Jan/Feb but we'll have to see what life plans in the meantime. My SIL is finishing her schooling in Dec 09 and I am thinking they will have another baby soon after, so we'll see. But it will keep my busy looking for deals (parents already AAA members) and planning in the meantime. I can't wait to have Caleb and my newphew go together for the first time.

Memom and Jill,

I don't think I have posted since I got back from my trip to WDW in December. It took a while for me to be able to read about other trips without being sad. It will be at least 2 years before we are able to go back and that is a LONG time. We had a great trip though. I have caught up on your trip and I am still enjoying it. :wave2:

I wish they would make a new video like the older one where all the friends went out into the parks. There was a lot more action and time spent on the rides and attractions and less time just talking about the parks.

I'll see your la, la, la, la
and raise you a

nanny, nanny, boo, boo!

I was off, too, today, but it's back to the madhouse tomorrow.

I'll have some of the walking around pictures up later.

I just watched the Disney planning DVD too last noght and I choked up too.

Crybaby!

There's just something about the music that tugs at my heartstrings, and then when you hear other people talk about the simplest, purest forms of fun they have with their kids or with friends and other family, it does play on your emotions.

You know, I have already gotten teary-eyed just thinking of going in March without Brooklynn. It won't be the same. I'll be doing just that - talking about how much she likes this ride or that character or picturing her smiling face as I am watching a show.

I don't know if this trip is really going to happen or not. For now, I am going to pretend that it is, for my sanity. If I don't have something to look forward to at spring break, I won't make it through the next ten or so weeks. If we decide we need to cancel, I'm putting it off as long as possible.

We're in the thirties today and will be in the high forties later in the week, so I hope it can stay like that, which is more reasonable for our area.

I'm glad you made it through all the wedding fun. That's great about the trip planning on the horizon! You'll have to plan it for as soon as she gets out of school. Even if she is just 'barely pregnant', that won't be bad. I'll look forward to hearing what comes of it all. Just think of the cute pictures you'll have of the little boys together to treasure forever!

We need to see some pictures! I believe you when you say it was great, but I wanna see some proof! :goodvibes

It is sad to have to come home, but don't stay away from us for too long. Just go ahead and start thinking about the next trip, even if it is far away.

The others went on to the bus, I believe we have established, and I went to the castle lighting. Then I went walking around Tomorrowland for just a very short while.

After just a few pictures, I made my way toward the bus stop.

Main Street was so pretty with all its lights.

IMG_0041.jpg

The shop displays were pretty, too.

IMG_0043.jpg

Even some of the villains are cute.

IMG_0044.jpg

I had every intention of buying one of these, but I never did. I looked at many of them, though. It's so hard to choose.

IMG_0046.jpg

How cute are these?

IMG_0048.jpg

Little did I know that I was going to get one of them for Christmas!

Pretty castles.

IMG_0049.jpg

Small World figures.

IMG_0050.jpg

IMG_0051.jpg

I reminded myself that I was on my way to the bus stop.

One last blurry look back at a very crowded, but beautiul Main Street and castle.

IMG_0052.jpg

Back at the Music gift shop, I took one quick picture of pins.

IMG_0054.jpg

Walking by the pool toward the room. They were getting ready to show a movie.

IMG_0055.jpg

See what the lifeguard is wearing?

IMG_0056.jpg

It was rather chilly.

That was it for that night.
Everyone has arrived safely.
We'd had a nice meal and a fun ride and a little silliness.
It was time for bed so that we could get ready for another fun-filled day in this incredible place!

Great update MeMom:thumbsup2 Are you guys getting any snow tonight? I live in Florence sc and they are calling for some here tonight and tomorrow. My little guy is so excited! I hope we get a little bit:)

Oh I love the pictures from Main Street! :cloud9: Some nights we'll just go sit down somewhere along there and people watch and take in the lights, the music, and the whole atomosphere of being at WDW. *sigh*

Great update MeMom! I like the little statue that is Mickey and Minnie getting married...Patrick's cousin is getting married in June and we will be flying out to SD for the wedding...We are thinking of getting them something cute and Disney as a present since they are one of those couples that has just about everything!

Great update! I love shopping with you! Brr....I don't think I would want to go swimming if the lifeguard was wearing a jacket!

I know someone who has a whole set of these and I think they are so neat! :)

I love all of your pictures of merchandise. I'm always amazed when I look at other people's photos and see so many things that I have never noticed. This trip is going to be more relaxed so I can enjoy all of this little details. :thumbsup2

I loveee all the shopping pictures! How cute are those precious moments with Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty's castles?! I want those, they're adorable. :flower3:

just caught up--- loved, loved, loved the sequence of the castle being lighted!!:cool1: Thanks for sharing for I have never been to the world during the holidays!

Took a break from DIS. Back now and took a few days to get caught up. I wish we would have seen you at MK on the Wednesday, but my DH's cousins (10, 16, and 17) met up with us for the day. We spent the day trying to get as many rides in as possible with them. They live less than an hour away from the World-Lucky them! It looks like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving trip. Your pictures are great, as always. Can't wait to read more.

MeMom you are the best for virtual shopping! I never noticed the little green alien plushies! Oh I want one!!! Just what every grown woman needs! :upsidedow And you're right about it being chilly! I never knew central FL got as chilly as it did! There was one night I actually wore the gloves I brought down (not thinking it would really be cold from a Canadian's point of view!)!

Then everyone else joined in.

IMG_0001.jpg

It was just beautiful, and Erica will back me up, as will many others of you; if you have not seen it in person, you really should make plans to do so!

IMG_0030.jpg

Next up, a short walk through a little of Tomorrowland.
What good looking pirates!!!

I have to agree!! It is a beautiful site to see it in person!! I get teary eyed every single time!!!!!!
