Over the river and through the FUN!

How ironic, I was just thinking of IASW this morning and saying to myself I should look on the DIS for pics....and like I rubbed :genie: you granted my wish. How cool! ;)

I have loved that ride since I was Brooklynn's age. I find the song a bit annoying now, but I love the dolls. A must for me. :thumbsup2

PLATES! PLATES! AND CUPS TOO! You know how to please me. I wish they had those on Ebay, I would buy those in a heartbeat. :rotfl: I will have to check out that store when I go back. :)

punkin the salt & pepper shakers are cute!

Great pics MeMom! Brooklynn's face and reactiong to IASW is just priceless. Having kids (in another like 8 years from now) and taking them to WDW is definitely something I look forward to in the future. I love how they're just mesmerized (sp?) by it all and Brooklynn's expressions really show it so well...and it doesn't help that shes an adorable little nugget too :cutie: Hope you guys are having a good weekend.

I have been riding It's a Small World since 1975 -- I don't know how many times that translates into. I love it because it always makes me think of being a kid again -- nostalgia and all. :goodvibes

Thanks for the early morning boat ride and song -- hopefully it will carry me through my last day of vacation (which flew by for some reason) :(.

I can still see Brook's expression....she is so enthralled with iasw! :cutie: I also love those square mickey plates and cool tall red cups!:thumbsup2

Happy New Year Everyone!! :)

Wow I missed so much! I loved all the updates! Brooklyn with her kitchen is sooo cute! I'm insanely jealous of the World Showcase dinner! That is awesome! You have got to be one of the most creative people ever! I think the other canucks got most of the Canadian items so I'll just bring some Timbits or something! I think the only thing my city is known for is Labatts!

I love all the MK photos too! So much fun! I wish I was there again already...:) Hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday!

thanks for that nap while we rode IASW. :lmao: just kidding. i know that kids LOVE this ride and parents (and grandparents) love to watch them on it. i remember when my sister rode it for the first time - she was only 1 year old and she LOVED it. but it just puts me to sleep when i ride it. i guess when i have a kid of my own i will be so preoccupied with watching their reaction that i will be able to stay awake!

oh, i want those mickey/minnie christmas salt shakers! i didn't see those last trip. i got some thanksgiving ones very similar to that when erica and i were there in september.

Well then, I guess we'll just have to sing louder to wake you up!!!

It's a small world after all,
It's a small world after all,
It's a small world after all,
It's a small, small world!

Just take how much you enjoy watching Luke and multiply it by a million, and then you'll have how you're going to feel about your own!

I have the Thanksgiving Mickey and Minnie salt shakers, too.
They're a nice touch to a Thanksgiving table, but this year I must say, I felt luckier to be in Disney World with Mickey and Minnie rather than just having them on my table.

Wow! I'm magic, and didn't even know it!

I always see something new in that ride, and I admit, I do like it.

I kept telling myself all through Christmas that I should've gotten at least one of those plates to use for a serving plate. Maybe next year. We're going to be there after Christmas, so maybe they'll be on sale!

Then you can sing along with me as I aggravate Dawn!

We get one transition day for 1/2 day seminar and 1/2 day in our rooms, and then the kids come bounding down the halls first thing Tuesday morning.

I can still see Brook's expression....she is so enthralled with iasw! :cutie: I also love those square mickey plates and cool tall red cups!:thumbsup2

She loves Small World!

I wanted some of the cups, too, but they were nine bucks each.

Whatever you bring, it surely has to better than French fries, gravy, and cottage cheese. :crazy2:
I hope.
I'm not sure I could live in Canada!

cottage cheese?! No no, cheese curds! Little chunks of cheese! No cottage cheese! Blech! And to be honest I am a Canadian who isn't a huge fan of poutine. I like fries with gravy, or fries with cheese, but not all together! I also don't like smarties or ketchup chips! I'll just stick with my maple syrup, Timmies, and some Cadbury chocolate! No no no cottage cheese! :scared:

You'll be there just a month after me, but I can keep an eye out for them and let you know if they are on sale. Or I could pick one up for you if they are, if you like.

Poutine does sound kinda...different? I wanted to try it when we were in New Brunswick a couple of years ago, but I never did. I think that my dad really likes it, but he eats pretty much anything. There was a candy bar called Aero up there that I really loved and wanted to stock up on before we left.

I love IASW. I remember Kailyn loving it when she was little, too. She and my mom and I still love it. :lovestruc

BTW- I will bring the fiddleheads. Do you guys know what I'm talking about?

Thanks sunny_stace for clearing up the "cottage cheese" in poutine, YUCK! The only place I want my cottage cheese is in lasagna. YUM!
Surely, Americans must know what cheese curds are?

megablocks I'll trade you a case of Aero for just one of those plates...:rotfl2:
That's the chocolate bar with Bubbles, oh so good.

MeMom have a wonderful day back at work. :goodvibes

AWww, cute pictures!! I wish I had saw those plates and glasses!! I would have came home with some!

See the pretty blue sky behind the castle.

SO pretty!!

Agreed! declansdad and twob4him and VandyFan10 were on, too, but I don't know if they stayed until the late ones. I hope they did! They were pretty intense just on the screen. In person, it must have been crazy!

I did get to see both NYE sets of fireworks. They were great. Definitely made me wish I was there. On the 31st we watched it at my neighbors house and they thought it was pretty cool too. Everyone liked the number fireworks. What are they going to come up with next???

That's making me HUNGRY!!!

That's the castle throw.

I  mine!! I really planned to take a pic of mine and post here and on our TR but haven't gotten around to it. But thank you again!

Wishing you all

and
Friendship
during the coming year.
Happy New Year 2009!

SO SWEET!! Thank you! :goodvibes

Happy New Year Everyone! Hopefully this year will bring me the internet soon so I can post regularly. We have had a very busy holiday season and have switched from stuffing our faces and watching tv to preparing our house for the new arrival. We only have 14 weeks to go until our new arrival and so much to accomplish between now and then. Brooklynn is already being a great help moving books into Isabella's room and helping John put the crib together last night. Have a great day everyone!

Hey Jill!!

I hope you are doing well :flower3:. My neighbor just had her little girl on the 2nd and I got to keep Rylee which is just a little older than Brooklynn while she went to the hospital to have Katelyn. She just came home today and I got to go see her for a min :yay:. She is so cute! And Rylee and I had SO much fun Friday night....she was AWESOME...from 4:30 until a late bedtime for her! princess:

Was very fun to see some of your Christmas pics and you look great!!

Keep us updated! I hope you get your internet soon :upsidedow

oh my goodness, our heater broke tonight...right now its like 61 degrees inside and 14 degrees outside...not cool (no pun intended)

Back to reality MeMom... so lucky to not have students. I am dreading the long haul ahead! Looking forward to cheerful WDW pics to remind me why I go to work... so we can go in 2010!

I can't get past the fries and gravy, so it really doesn't matter what's on it from there! Isn't it funny how people just grow up liking different things because it is presented to them all of their lives? I hear of all kind of crazy things people eat in the south, too, and I can get just as grossed out. I do not ever care to eat pigs' feet, for example, or chittlins. Some of my students are grossed out by the fact that I have broccoli on my menus weekly, and that I sometimes put cheese on it! A lot of it is just a matter of what we're accustomed to as we grow up.
Long, long ago, I was at the home of some of my cousins, and their mother was peeling potatoes. The two boys were eating the raw shreds of the peelings. It was normal for them apparently, but it wasn't for me, so I thought it was very strange and very gross. I often think of them now when I peel potatoes, and I have no desire to reach down to grab a raw peeling and eat it to see what their delight was all about.

I've seen a show advertised on Travel Channel where some guy goes all over the world eating all sort of slimy, nasty, abnormal things that people consider delicacies. I have only seen it advertised, but you will not catch me watching it - ever!

You'll be there just a month after me, but I can keep an eye out for them and let you know if they are on sale. Or I could pick one up for you if they are, if you like.

I doubt they will have them next month, but if you happen to see them for cheap, then yeah, I'd like to have at least one, maybe more. Let me know if you see them, and we'll go from there. I think I might have a better chance right after Christmas next year, since we'll be there for New Year's weekend.

Let me know where to send you some ;)
BTW- I will bring the fiddleheads. Do you guys know what I'm talking about?

I looked up fiddleheads, too. I might give those a one bite try. How do you fix them? Are they slimy when you cook them? I don't do slimy stuff.

Thanks sunny_stace for clearing up the "cottage cheese" in poutine, YUCK! The only place I want my cottage cheese is in lasagna. YUM!

What does an Aero have in it?

Wonderful and two week Christmas break seem to go together so much better than wonderful and work, but I do appreciate the kind thoughts for the week ahead. I will need them, especially tomorrow when the kids come back.

AWww, cute pictures!! I wish I had saw those plates and glasses!! I would have came home with some!

I was trying not to spend too much money. If I hadn't already had a balance on my CC when I went down there, I would have gotten some. Next year, I'm going down with a zero balance, so I'll be able to buy some of those with a clear conscience.

Yea one good thing about myself is if I ever do have little ones I've got most Disney things memorized so I can just enjoy their expressions!! :teeth:

Last night was the last night for the webcam. It was great watching Wishes from the Poly beach. That couple was just so generous. Dave must easily be a millionaire with all that he has and does, yet he was so down-to-earth and kind. They were sad last night because they're returning to 18 degree weather today.

Disney World will take on a whole new level of fun and excitement when you take your own child!

I teach the song to my school kids, because we use music and poetry to teach reading fluency. They love it, and I love getting to hear it!

Nice present from the boyfriend. Now that you've got him thinking Disney, start throwing in trip hints. ;)

So sorry about your heater. Mine is old, and for the last three winters I have wondered if it would make it. I won't be surprised when mine plays out, but I'm grateful that it has lasted as long as it has. It's not nearly as cold here as where you are, though.

Yeah, the next about twelve weeks will be grueling as we prepare for TCAP. I do the same thing - I tell myself I am working so that I can go have fun.
And eat and have a house and a car, of course. :)

I hope you all have a Magical Monday! Mine will be not so magical with the going back to work and all, but I'll manage to sneak a few magical moments into it, I'm sure. For one thing, I'm going to go turn the Poly cam on now and watch the sunrise at Poly beach on this last morning that the camera is up. That's a good way to start the day.

Have a good one, everybody!

Hi,
Nice update and pics.

I love IASW. So does Biff, he actaully requested to go on the ride.

My pics never come out in there.

My New Year's resolution is that I will swear off poutine.
NO poutine!
I have 100% confidence I will fulfill that goal!

I used to think that way until I actually tried it. YOu don't know what you are missing.

I'll get Pooksma to send you some dulse with your fiddleheads (just steam them and season with some butter and/or vinegar). The dulse you can eat right out of the bag.

Let me know where to send you some ;)

You ladies are so kind. ;) It's weird, because I'm not a huuuuge chocolate person, but I definitely made an exception for those.

MeMom, I am with you, I'm not sure that they'll be there when I am there, either, but I'll still check.

I hope that today went okay for you--my mom and Kailyn are also back to work and school after being off for almost two weeks.

i hope your first day back to school is a good one, memom!!!! :goodvibes

Oh no cottage cheese in lasagna! You gotta go with ricotta! I just can't do the cottage cheese...makes me gag!

Oh Aeros....have you felt the bubbles melt? ;) I have and they're delicious!

I'll get Pooksma to send you some dulse with your fiddleheads (just steam them and season with some butter and/or vinegar). The dulse you can eat right out of the bag.

I honestly have no idea what dulse is! What am I missing?
