Over the river and through the FUN!

Thanks for posting that--I checked it out and you could hear them talking to those commenting and you could hear the castle show in the background.

Funny thing--they are from the town right next to me in central Iowa!

Thanks for the heads up--I saw it earlier but I didn't check it out. My mom and I just watched the fireworks from our living room, on our laptops. So cool!

if anyone is gonna be home tomorrow night (or around a computer with internet) i highly recommend that you watch the 11:50 fireworks - they were unbelievable!!!!!

I was so scared and shook up. Luckily Owen slept through the whole thing! Sorry you didn't fair so well!

I just finished putting up ALL the Christmas pictures on the blog. There was a bunch! Yes, I felt very lucky this year!

After being hit, I hate seeing someone come at me from the side at a stop sign. I don't trust them to stop, so I slow down a little just in case they don't! I was already a cautious driver, but now I am even moreso. I'm very glad you were all okay!

I'll check the pictures out! I know Hannah was fully into Christmas at this age. Brooklynn quite enjoyed it all this year, and next year, she will really understand what's going to go on before it happens when she starts hearing Christmas music and seeing decorations go up.

thank you so much for posting this! i saw holiday wishes and now i'm gonna watch the 11:50 fireworks too! can't wait. although i wish i could hear the music! anyway, it's really cool!!!

Monday night, Sorceror Mickey was in Magic Kingdom and had a much closer feed with the music, so if he does it tonight, be sure to pull up his, also, for a lot better view. You can still have Dave's up for the conversation. Dave and his family were watching live fireworks from the Poly and had SM's picture on their computer, too.

Cool link, MeMom -- thanks for posting because I never would have wandered over there on my own!

I was happy to share it. I hope a lot more people will check it out tonight if they don't have exciting plans. The 11:50 fireworks were wild!

You should get on tonight when you know they're reading and tell them where you are from. That guy has a heck of a job! He's been to WDW 7 times this year and they stay at Poly and Boardwalk and good places, they're going on their 10th cruise in March, they have two big boats, they've been a bunch of other places on trips, she's a SAHM...he has to make megabucks! And he's such a nice, unpretentious guy - just talks and laughs at ease with complete strangers because of that Disney connection.

Weren't they incredible??? I'm watching again tonight!

Agreed! declansdad and twob4him and VandyFan10 were on, too, but I don't know if they stayed until the late ones. I hope they did! They were pretty intense just on the screen. In person, it must have been crazy!

Back to the trip:

I went wandering around with my trusty little friend, Mr. Camera.

This area stays fairly quiet, and I like the historical aspect of it.

As I was walking around, Jill called and said they were almost there, so I headed back toward the front to meet them.

Christmas entertainment was abundant on Main Street during this trip. Just about every time we walked through, someone was singing or dancing. I guess it was there to ease crowds a little - to stop or slow up a few people here and there, since it was a crowded week. I love the entertainment, so I was happy to see it all. (I noticed the same thing at Hollywood Studios - lots of street performers.)

IMG_0318.jpg

IMG_0319.jpg

I looked at these plates so many times and never bought one. When I was putting out Christmas food, I wished that I had gotten at least one of the big ones. The big ones were $11.95, I think, so I just kept putting it off.

IMG_0320.jpg

The Alice tea set I have shown several times before.

IMG_0321.jpg

I never did see another wreath like these out here in the real world after I got home. They are Disney-unique.

Be careful. You could get cavities just reading this section of the report.

IMG_0324.jpg

The Confectionery is such a pretty little store.

IMG_0325.jpg

Have you ever paid attention to all of the window signs and displays?

That's the castle throw.

Well, I do anyway. I think it captures the essence of Main Street.

More entertainment.

Looks nice and quiet in Liberty Square that morning!

Wonder how packed it is there already?

HAPPY NEW YEAR'S EVE, MEMOM, JILL, JOHN, BROOKLYN, DREW, AND TRENT!

We didn't get to see any of the entertainment our MK day since it was downpour raining when we came down Main St which I really missed. It makes me feel "at Home". My DD really loved them last time.

We got the Gingerbread Man and Christmas stocking cookies, Yummy! Plus we got the Castle Throw, it is very soft and warm. I am really glad we got it.

On the next to the last day the kids said that they wanted one of the balloons. And then asked if they could take it home on the plane. :rotfl2:

memom (and everyone else who's interested) - sorceror mickey has a website up where he has both his stream and mike's stream on the same page!

(i removed the link because someone hacked into the stream page and disabled the chat and banned everyone. nice! so if you want to know the website just PM me.)

loved the main street pics, by the way. makes me wish i was there right now! 2 more years.

Memom thanks for the webcam link - I've been hooked on it! Good thing work is quiet today!
Love all the pictures - you had Liberty Square to yourself!!

That castle throw is beautiful! And wow @ all the sweets. The Mickey gingerbread guy is so cute!

I just checked that webcam during daylight for the first time. What a view! It's such a difference from where I am--cold and snowing, but it's not supposed to be much, just 5-8 inches. All the snow from the previous storm melted, thank goodness.

Happy New Years eve to you and your family!

Great pictures MeMom! I have never seen a double decker on Mainstreet before. I love all the street entertainment that Disney does at the parks. I could take an entire day and just go from skit to skit watching.

I love that Alice in Wonderland tea set too. If I ever have a little girl I think I just might have to get her that...and we'll have regular tea parties! ;)

The Mickey wreaths are so awesome! I'm really surprised you hadn't found that wreath in the real world. ;)

All the sweets look soooooo yummy. The pictures of the windows are fantastic too, I really hadn't ever taken notice of them. But, I think I will make a point to do that in January.

The throw is beautiful! I wish I had seen it back in November, I would now be a proud owner.

I'm with ya on the balloon pictures too - they really "scream" MK to me.

And thank you for the link to the streaming video! It's very neat!!!! I am looking forward to the fireworks tonight. :yay:

Great pics MeMom.

I was one of the many that stayed up to watch te fireworks last night. It was even later here (12:50 am). I hope to watch again tonight.

(i removed the link because someone hacked into the stream page and disabled the chat and banned everyone. nice! so if you want to know the website just PM me.)

I hope the guy doesn't figure out the other link. It was so fun last night getting to hear the family talk to the the 'fans'. Too bad the one guy had to ruin the fun for a lot of people. The video should still be intact, though, and we'll be able to enjoy the fireworks again tonight.

Hi Memom. I am still reading along just don't have time lately to write anything. Thanks for the info about the live feed. I am going to stay up tonight and watch them. Hope 2009 is filled with many blessing for you and your family.

pixiedust: HAPPYNEWYEARpixiedust:

I wish I could watch the fireworks from Poly tonight with everyone but I`m on my way out to see a co workers band play at a little bar. Have a great evening! See you in the New Year! CHEERS!!!

Go over to that website and you can sit out on the Poly Beach with us and watch 11:50 New Year's practice fireworks!

Dave says it's cold. Bring a blanket!!! :)

twob4him and punkin - I'm there, just not typing on the thing! Isn't it awesome! Dave and his family are so nice!

Hi Memom....yaaaaa Punkin and I were yelling for ya...the chat was a little weird since some people were really obnoxious. I watched a bit of the light parade too. I was just dreaming about being there :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9:

I just snapped a few pictures from afar and went on with my wandering.
I just love all of your pics....it seemed like such a beautiful clear day! I especially love the way these two are looking at each other. He is VERY handsome, dont you think ;) ?

And why couldn't he be my uncle or something???He did seem so nice!

Agreed! declansdad and twob4him and VandyFan10 were on, too, but I don't know if they stayed until the late ones. I hope they did! They were pretty intense just on the screen. In person, it must have been crazy!
I stayed a bit thru the light parade and then I had to put the kiddos to bed and read them a book and get in my pj's etc. Then I got involved in watching tv...Cesar Millan...and so on....BUT what I did see was wonderful and dreamy.

Awesome pics...I wish I had time to walk around and take pics...perhaps in Feb I can take some like you do. I tell you what, when we move to FL and I go every weekend, I may get a really nice camera and take pics for all of the Disney starved folks like myself....:rotfl: I don't even think the people who design and set up all this stuff have pics like this of the place. You could really make a whole Disney website out of all of your pics......

Wishing you all
