Over the door organizer

I purchaed an organizer and a pop up hamper at Joanne Fabrics last week for less than $10 for both including tax. A lot of stores had them for dorm rooms and now have to clearance those products to make room for holiday merchandise.

What size shoe holder is everyone getting? I saw one on sale at Target that had 24 pockets, but I didn't know if that was too big? Is everyone getting the 12 pocket one?

I found a nine-pocket one at the Dollar Store. I think this should be pretty good for us. It is clear and has two hooks at the top. I think some have three hooks (wider) and more pockets, but I thought we would be fine with the smaller one.

I bought one from the dollar store that hung on a hanger-any time I put something in it the entire organizer tipped over. We had to throw it out!!

Maybe it is b/c I should be in bed or maybe b/c I'm just an unorganized sort anyway but can someone herlp me out with this idea?

We are staying in a value this trip and I am thinking this might be a plan but am a little fuzzy on what the plan is?

Is there not room in the tub to leave shampoo/ soap? Is there not a little shelf above sink for deoderant/toothbrush and paste/razor/hairbrush/small can of mouuse or hairspray? Is this the kind of stuff you all are talking about? I usually keep lotion on night stand next to bed. Meds in a seperate small bag (as I don't like them visable to housekeeping)

Each day I put wallets, cell phones, park passes, KTTK, car keys in a minature little collapsible hamper looking thingy I found some place along the way and leave it on the nightstand or table when the day is done.

What other junk do I need to think about? There must be something as our room always ends up a total mess by weeks end anyway!

I do have a hanging roll up thingy for jewelry but I barely wear anything at Disney in the heat.

Could someone tell me what would fit over door in
ASMu? is mirror on back of bathrooom door? How do you hang it on clothes rack bar? do the bars come off? I am so thick!

This sounds like a good plan. . .I just need guidance! :upsidedow

I picked one up today (on clearance at Target from the College collection). So, what do you keep in yours?

I paid $7.99 for a really nice (and large) one at KMart (on sale from $9.99).

It holds 12 pairs of shoes so there are 24 pockets. It is not plastic, it is made of some type of thin material. It is a nice green color with navy trim. I figured I would invest in a nicer one and then just pack it away in my "Disney Tub" upon our return.

At KMart it was with the "BTS - Dorm" section (the organizers were special colors... there were coordinating items for dorm use), so perhaps they are even beginning to discount that kind of stuff? It's worth a look if you get to a KMart! :goodvibes

I bought mine to organize my (and DH) "stuff" in our room! I figured not only H&BA items, but also meds, hand sanitizer, brush, hairspray, flat iron, and such!

I just picked up a 2nd shoe organizer at Walmart (regular price) for $6.99. It is white, see thru pockets, and actually has two larger extra rectangle pockets at the bottom.

We have two (connecting) rooms and our teenage DS also has a lot of items to keep track of (bottle of Peroxyl, prescription acne face wash, deodorant, shaving related items, teeth care items, retainers/case, comb, Singulair, Inhaler, ect...) and I figured that not only would it be an excellent place for his "stuff" to stay... the two rectangle pockets is where I expect him to put the items he will take daily to the parks (wallet, inhaler, safe key, cell phone, small Tylenol bottle, KTTW card).:goodvibes

These organizers are great for one other really big reason - getting stuff out of the way so housekeeping can clean! I travel with friends frequently and can't get over how much "stuff" just sits on the bathroom vanity counter. The choice housekeeping has to make is 1) move all your stuff with hands that you have no idea where they have just been or 2) not clean very well. If your surfaces are not cluttered, you have a much better chance of a really clean space for the duration of your stay. Plus, I would rather not have the hand that just cleaned the toilet handling my personal grooming items!:sad2: It's not that they would, it's just a picture I don't want in my mind:idea:

I was wondering if anyone bought a shoe organizer that actually fit over the door at the BC? Where did you buy it? :confused3

I know a lot of people said they put the organizer in their closet. Our closet is always packed, so I don't think that would work well for us. Thanks for the help!

Love this idea!! There is actually a forum that has pictures but I can't find it. Any body??? Also do you put the stuff in the pockets before or after??
