Outlander: Blood of My Blood

I am a little confused. Are they rewriting history and Colum was injured rather than ill? Or did his injury just exacerbate his condition?
They wouldn't have known or understood the condition that Colum had. They would have traced it back to an injury just to understand why his legs were as they were.

I get that, but are they telling us that he was fine prior to the injury?

From what we’ve seen in this series so far, he’s been limping all along, before the horse accident.

I mentioned on a FB group that I hope that Le Compte winds up being Claire's brother. We know that he can travel from the supplemental books and Percy has been eluding to a prominent Frenchman being Fergus's father.

Some people liked the idea and others became quite angry, stating that Le Compte is French and that he doesn't look like Claire.

What do you think? Whom will the baby grow up to be?

wait- that horrible frenchman who died next to Master Raymond? Why? Why? do they want him related in any way?
I was not aware he was a time traveler or Fergus's father

The plot thickens…

I will have to ponder that one, lol.

Another theory I have read is perhaps Brian and Ellen adopt him (for whatever reason ? something happens to parents; they are both in tenuous situations) and he becomes their oldest son/Jamie’s older brother, William (who goes on to die of a childhood illness at age 11? In the Outlander books)…

The most reasonable theory I've read is that the baby is adopted by Brian & Ellen....and it's William (Sawney?).

It would make sense. I mean, she can't go on allowing Lovat to think it's his. He's a freaking monster.

they wanted him to stop "wasting" time looking for her
I get that but they did find her.

Ohhh...was that lady completely lying about seeing Julia at all? I was thinking she was just lying about her dying.

no, she was paid to lie about the whole thing. Never met her or presumably the people who picked her up on the side of the road

In one of the sub-books, we learn that Master Raymond and Le Compte are both travelers. Also in the books, Percy Wainwright is always poking at Fergus that he has a wealthy father in France and for the introduction, he wants compensation for the introduction.

The Beauchamps may eventually move to France, hence their son winds up with a French accent and seems to be a natural born Frenchman.

thank you

Le Compte is a title, isn't it? So hereditary? Meaning there would need to be more to the story for Le Compte to be Claire's brother

Is Percy someone I should recognize have watched all of the episodes that have been released?

I did some Googling... For wealthy commoners, the most reliable way to join the nobility was to purchase a venal office, which would confer noble status. This form of ennoblement was known as noblesse de robe (nobility of the robe), referring to the robes worn by judicial officials.
  • Purchasing an office: French kings frequently sold venal offices to raise revenue. The cost varied depending on the office, with higher-level positions costing more than 50,000 livres.
So, Le Comte didn't necessarily have to be born into nobility. The ability to time travel could definitely allow a person to gain means, although this isn't discussed in the books about Le Comte.

Percy comes from the sub-books, too. His father marries Lord John's mother and becomes his half brother. As both of them are gay, the become fast "friends" ahem, but then Percy does John dirty and their relationship falters. He has been introduced in the last season. He was at the dinner with General Lafayette.

He tries to meet several times with Fergus in the books and when they finally do meet, Fergus discounts everything that he says and doesn't believe him.
