Outdoor smoking

Can someone help. We are staying in a villa in September. The accommodation is allocated on arrival. My question is can I smoke outside in the private pool area of our villa. I know most villa are non smoking inside, but I have heard that alot villas are also non smoking in the recreation areas to.

We've reserved a private villa for XMAS, and I specifically asked this question of the owner as we do have a smoker in our group. I was told that smoking would not be allowed around the pool area under the screened in thing. What do they call those screened in back-yard areas around the pools in Florida, anyway?!


We'll be sending the smoker in our group out to the driveway! I do not want to get hit with an extra cleaning or damage fee. I'll probably have them take a cup or something to put the ashes in, too. I'm not a smoker, so I don't know if that's really feasible.

They're called a lanai I think...we joke about how nice it sounds instead of calling it a screened in porch!
