Gotta finish up...we leave tomorrow!!
Saturday was our 2nd Castaway Cay day. Friday night at the show they told us there was a storm. They said that they were trying to go around it so that we could dock at CC. When I woke up we still weren't docked. At breakfast the captain came on and said they had tried twice to dock but couldn't get in due to the wind. So, we were all prepared for another day at sea. Luckily they tried one more time and managed to get in!!
We got off the ship as soon as we could (about an hour later than scheduled) and headed to the beach. We didn't go as far down this time-we stayed closer to snorkel lagoon. We got our snorkel stuff and headed out. I will post pictures of our snorkeling and lounging. It was another super awesome day!!
The snorkeling was SO much better. Ellie was much braver and stayed with me and Ben. We went as far as you could go. It was exhausting but so totally worth it. John had a problem with his mask and never managed to catch up with us. We ate lunch at Cookies (same menu as before) and hung out at the beach. My sister and I got drinks. I had a conch cooler...yum!
Eventually we had to drag ourselves back to the ship. It was so sad because not only did we not want to leave Castaway Cay, we knew that in the morning we'd be heading home. Boo!
Dinner was back at Royal Palace but it was the See Ya Soon menu.
The show tonight was Believe. It was a great show!
After the show we headed up to see the farewell show. Then we pretty much headed to our rooms to pack. Honestly, we were all exhausted!!
Sunday morning we got our stuff and then went down to disembark. We were doing express where you have to take your own luggage. There was a long line but once they let us going it wasn't that long at all before we were off the ship. We waited a bit for the shuttle but once it came we were back at the hotel in no time. The driver drove around the lot until you found your car so you didn't have to lug your bags around which was great. Once we reloaded the car we stopped at McD's for some breakfast and then hit the road for the 12 hour trip home! Blech!!
Final thoughts: I had a great time, but I learned that I am not a cruise person. My sister absolutely loves them and has been on another (not Disney) since this one. Me, I am a parks girl. John and Ben agree. Ellie is undecided but I really believe if she had to pick between parks and a cruise she would pick parks. While there is NEVER a lack of anything to do on the ship, if you didn't really want to do that then you were kind of "stuck". Very hard to explain. I would totally go again but on a 3 day-if the port was the Bahamas. I think I could do a longer one again if there were some different ports to get off the ship and explore more.
Sorry this has been so rushed for the last few updates but I wanted to get it finished. Now I need to go pack!!!
