Our trip to our "Happy place" w/ pics & videos!!*new 7/7!!*Last day Magic Kingdom**

I respect how your DH feels.I do know some people do reports and make sure that they take pictures showing the kids backs and profiles.:surfweb:

Hmm,I never thought about taking pictures of the kids backs and in profiles but I think that would be frustrating for anyone who might be reading it :confused3 or Maybe not
:

I'm going to chime in here. Sometimes I think, awwww, I want a face to go with the story but totally respect someones decision not to. Shortly after I started my pretrip I got a weird PM from someone warning me about the kind of people I was exposing my kids too and included a link. A link that was to nowhere but it put me off for a few days and another member (who I've known for 8 years) here reassured me over it. I still carried on with my report but deleted my location. Of course this isn't foolproof :sad2: but I know if I changed names I would slip up anyways.

Amy- amazing EE pics!!!!

I really enjoy reading the trip reports with all of the pictures and feel like my pre-trip report isn't as good as it could be because I don't have any pictures of my family in it. I just feel like my son is already more vulnerable than others so I don't want to do anything that could ever make him more vulnerable (whether it is all in my head or not). I haven't decided if I'll post pictures of the adults in my trip report when we get back. I'll keep my report in mind when I'm taking pictures at Disney.

I did use real names for my family because I knew I'd slip up, but I used fake names for BIL and family just becaue I'm not sure how they would feel about it. I'm sure both kids have myspace pages by now, so I'm not sure what I'm worried about... I'll just have to try to keep everyone straight when I write the report!

I agree that it may take away from my reports, but I'm ok with that. And I respect others who choose to post photos too!

Hmm,I never thought about taking pictures of the kids backs and in profiles but I think that would be frustrating for anyone who might be reading it :confused3 or Maybe not

You're right though, it would be fun to re-live everything and as long as I know I would have at least one devoted reader ;) maybe I will think about giving it a shot! Your is soo good and I have a great model to go by from with yours.. so maybe i'll try to jot some notes down when I'm there, just in case :cutie:

Definitely take notes and decide when you get back.:thumbsup2[/QUOTE]

In my pre-trip I didn't include any face photos. Then I decided to adults. Now that I'm back I've included lots of pics, but so far only the baby have I put face photos in. I didn't use their real names.

There is real danger on the internet and you should never feel pressured to post things you don't feel comfortable posting.

I kept notes & did take photos with my TR in mind. My Dh is reading and contributing to to my TR and even if I had no other readers, it would be worth the fun he & I are having (though it is nice having others read as well. ;) )

I also find these TRs more enjoyable. I've loved seeing the expressions on the kids faces & the lovely drowned rat photos, but I just don't feel comfortable with it so I live vicariously through others.

Trip Reports rock in general, even some of those with no photos at all.

Sorry if I'm hijacking your TR to say all this. I'm LOVING this TR. It made me feel jealous I didn't take those photos of EE. Guess I'll have to go back and snap some shots of my own!

We still haven't seen Flights of Wonder, but now I think it will get put in the plans near the top.

Whoa... I'm surprised he wanted to get right back on... he looks scared to death!!! Good for him though!!! :thumbsup2

That is too bad that Peyton freaked on being in the back. But I like the redneck photo!! You have some very nice pics from while on EE. Good job! :thumbsup2

I so wish I could go do the 5K next Jan, but they're all full....think I could have convinced DH to let me go too sad. I hope you all will do it agian and I can go too and meet you all down there.:goodvibes

I just checked the website, and the 5K is still open. The marathon is full. I just registered this weekend, so come on and join us! :thumbsup2

I think the picture issue is why I haven't posted my TR yet too. I don't worry so much about the DIS members, it's the lurkers. Plus my family said they didn't want their pictures in it anyway. I have made up Disney names for everyone in my bunch. That way I don't have to worry about slipping up.

I wouldn't say that he's completely outgrown it. He's almost 15 and there are still things that are triggers for them. He hates loud noises. The sound that truck makes when we come down the "hill" on Test Track, the LOUD boom fireworks over the castle, (or here at home on the 4th) when the satellite tv shuts off unexpectedly and the tv static blares, and for a really long time (though not as much now) being in front of alot of people under pressure. One time he had a FULL BLOWN anxiety attack on the baseball field during a game when he went up to bat. We had to take him to the ER for a pill to calm him down. Now he says he gets "stressed and anxious" when he has to present in classes at school or when he's playing a sport and he can hear people on the sidelines yelling. He doesn't completely lose it anymore but he gets pretty upset inside.

I have those feelings too and could only imagine what being in a total attack over it must feel like. People just don't realize that for them it's completely and UTTERLY beyond their control. They CAN'T calm down. I had someone tell me one time that he only did it for attention!

You did the exact right thing. Giving Peyton a safe place and a way out was the right way to handle it. He recovered beautifully. :cheer2:

OH and as a note, I HIGHLY recommend Narcoosee's at the Grand Floridian for your "fancy dinner." They have viewing for the fireworks, the staff is amazing!! (read my next update on my TR to hear more about that) and the food is DIVINE!
JMHO:rolleyes1

Oh Amy! That must have been a tough ride on EE, trying to hold onto your freaking-out son. Isn't it funny what can set them off and also how quickly they're over it?

I'm glad you got to see everything you wanted at AK. Hope GM is okay. :hippie:
We are learning what upsets him but sometimes something surprises us.:scared: Thanks for reading!:goodvibes

your EE pics are fantastic. Sorry he didn't like the back.
Thanks!I had a blast trying to take pictures this trip.:thumbsup2

I have finished reading up to the end of day one!

Peyton was very lucky to have found his bag pixiedust:

Poor Rae must be awfully afraid of the boats

Loved the pics from Chef Mickeys :thumbsup2
HI! Thanks for reading!:goodvibes I should have the rest of the links up today so that will help newbies.:surfweb:

Sorry Peyton got so upset!!

Looking forward to your next installment!
HI! I am goiing to try to do an installment each day...:surfweb:

Amy,

Once again, great pics! :thumbsup2 I love the expression on your GM and Rebekah on EE! It looks like they had a blast!

I feel bad that Peyton was so scared riding in the back...at least he recovered quickly and was ready to go on again, in a better seat! :cool1:

Can't wait to read more even though I should probably spend a little less time here on the Dis and start packing for my own trip :rotfl:

I think I'm going to go through Dis withdrawal on the trip! ;)
I am soo glad we managed to get GM to try EE.:cool1: She ended up loving it!:woohoo: I went through Dis withdrawal on my trip...my family even made fun of me. I can't believe your trip is so close!:scared1: Gonna miss you here on my report...

Well I have gone back and read all of your TR. Great job! I still have the beginning of our Oct. 2007 trip in a Word document. It is up to the point to where we are riding on the Tram to MK on our first day! :scared1: Maybe I'll call it my one year anniversary TR, if I ever finish it.:confused3

I am waiting to hear back from Merrie at Dreams Unlimited Travel about the changes I wanted and get a quote from her. DISUNC told me that if I wanted to stay in the Lady building at Pop, it is a standard room, which would save me enough to about pay for a princess breakfast! :scratchin :cool1: princess:

Is there one you would recommend? I thought about the one at Epcot.

Sorry your DS lost and found his bag, and got nervous on EE! GM ankle!:scared1: She seems like a real trooper though. I am enjoying your TR, so keep it up.
Thanks for reading all of my report! I would love to read your report!:thumbsup2 Let me know after you finalize your plans.I am going to make some more ADRs today and possibly book a room.I highly reccomend the Princess Storybook Breakfast at Epcot. It isn't as expensive as CRT and my girls LOVED it. I have some great pics that will be in Day Four.

That is what I am totally afraid of happening with Alex! :scared1: Especially on Space Mountain with him sitting in front of me. All indications are that he'll LOVE anything that moves fast - but you just never know what might set him off! I'm glad Peyton jumped right up on the horse again, so to speak. :goodvibes
If it happens with Alex you will take care of it too.You will never know until you try.On our first trip Peyton was terrified of every ride but ended up loving them all except Splash Mtn and TOT.I am pretty sure I was able to reach Peyton's hand to hold it the first time he rode Space Mtn.

Good evening Amy :wave2:

HI JO!!!!:yay: yes dear I remember you- and we had a moment to pause and think of you when we were passing by WM when we were at WDW:laughing:
OK you're going to have to help me out, WM???? :rotfl2:

I hadn't noticed the three 3"s:woohoo: We just decided to do Le Cellier.I have eaten there but noone else has.
Great choice with Le Cellier, did you get it?

Yes that would be me! Hi Jo! :wave2:
Hi Allie, the dysons still going strong :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Poor peyton on EE you looked as though you were holding on tight in the photo  Kids are funny though as he then wanted to go again :rotfl2: Can't believe you manage to take photos on EE I held on far to tight to do that :rotfl:

We're one of those not wanting to post pic's of our kid's faces, especially DH too. But it's all good:thumbsup2 I'd be interested and would read your TR when you get back even with pictures wih 'no-faces'! :goodvibes

I just posted pic's on my 2008 PTR from 05, not even realizing I had some nice shots of the kids, w/out seeing their faces. You may suprise yourself too! I'd go-for it mickeymouseclubhouse!

Sorry to hijack your TR Amy!:rolleyes1
I don't mind!:goodvibes

Amy, sorry this won't be one of my more detailed replies....But wanted to say, glad GM has her happy thoughts still! and I too loved your EE pictures, some great shots there! Can't wait to go on that! :woohoo:

So sorry Peyt had a meltdown on a ride no-less, too scary  . Super glad he quickly recovered and was able to ride again, with being able to enjoy it:)

Our kids just loved the FoW show too, glad you all could see, even though you 'snuck in' JK

I so wish I could go do the 5K next Jan, but they're all full....think I could have convinced DH to let me go too sad. I hope you all will do it agian and I can go too and meet you all down there.:goodvibes
Is it full? Last night it wasn't.:confused3 Try to come!!!

Question: What did you mean by you had two sets of FP and baby swaps to use. Do you get a ticket to use the baby swap? I know for sure we have to use it on Soarin DD #3 will be to small, but a thought occured to me, what if our whole family is in line for something and last minute DS 'freaks' out and refuses to go, can we "baby swap" him?
You go to the CM at the head of the line and show them the too short child and you are given a ticket good for three people to ride.I have heard of people getting baby swap passes when a child is frightened. If you are already in line I think you will have to go back to the head of the line to get the pass.I would get FPs for RNRC and then get a baby swap so we could ride it quickly and GP and GM would have a shorter wait.

Later, need to get some scrappin' stuff together, going on a girls only weekend away to scrap! Yes, I know it sounds crazy but I can't wait, even leaving the baby behind:woohoo:

Probably catch up when I get back if I don't have alot time this week to DIS!

OH I almost forgot: Here is a link to a dinning review I read not to long ago. I was great, had alot a "adult dinning" in it, think that may help you make some choices. Enjoy!

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1438757
Have fun on the weekend!I:woohoo: I used to scrapbook alot but haven't in the last couple of years..Thanks for the link!:goodvibes Just what I needed.

I'm going to chime in here. Sometimes I think, awwww, I want a face to go with the story but totally respect someones decision not to. Amy- amazing EE pics!!!!
I got the same PM!:scared1: Thanks for the compliment on the pictures!:goodvibes

I agree that it may take away from my reports, but I'm ok with that. And I respect others who choose to post photos too!
I tried using fake names for my kids or DS9 etc but kept forgetting.:confused3 I think everyone has to do what is best for their family and show respect to others in whatever they choose.:grouphug:

Definitely take notes and decide when you get back.:thumbsup2

In my pre-trip I didn't include any face photos. Then I decided to adults. Now that I'm back I've included lots of pics, but so far only the baby have I put face photos in. I didn't use their real names.

Yep the perfect excuse to go back-more pictures!:woohoo: Tell DH I said so...:goodvibes I noticed the "drowned rat" comment, I am sure you weren't talking about me....:snooty:

We still haven't seen Flights of Wonder, but now I think it will get put in the plans near the top.
Yes,try to see FOW! My kids loved it.:thumbsup2

Whoa... I'm surprised he wanted to get right back on... he looks scared to death!!! Good for him though!!! :thumbsup2

Yes I was surprised he wanted to get back on but he constantly surprises us. Thanks for reading!:goodvibes

That is too bad that Peyton freaked on being in the back. But I like the redneck photo!! You have some very nice pics from while on EE. Good job! :thumbsup2
I loved doing redneck photos and was pleased that so many came out good.:thumbsup2 Thanks for reading!:woohoo:

I just checked the website, and the 5K is still open. The marathon is full. I just registered this weekend, so come on and join us! :thumbsup2

Thanks for sharing about your son.:goodvibes Peyton is still very unpredictable on what upsets him.He does get stressed on the ballfield but usually only when he isn't playing well or when he is pitching.Oh yeah I get the comments that he is doing it for attention ..:scared: I will be looking for the report on Narcoose's-is it two dining credits??

Good evening Amy :wave2:

OK you're going to have to help me out, WM???? :rotfl2:
Walmart?BTW did you make it there??

Great choice with Le Cellier, did you get it?
I am about to post my updated pre-trip in just a minute...:rolleyes1

Hi Allie, the dysons still going strong :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Poor peyton on EE you looked as though you were holding on tight in the photo  Kids are funny though as he then wanted to go again :rotfl2: Can't believe you manage to take photos on EE I held on far to tight to do that :rotfl:
The rides don't bother me at all-wait until you see the pic I took on RnRC!:woohoo:

Hi Allie, the dysons still going strong :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Mine is still sucking strong!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: It is amazing all the dog hair that thing picks up.:scared1:

Amy - I am going to have to wait until tomorrow (at least) until I make my ressie. My vacation specialist at DU is going to be out of the office this afternoon.:scared: She has put my request into Disney, but now we have to wait and see if there is availability. :rolleyes1 I know there are available rooms because I have looked on the website. I am beginning to wonder if I shouldn't have called Disney directly. :confused3 Although, I think this lady will get my ADR's for me, and continue to look for deals aka codes, and try and get them for me. That saves me in phone time! :cool1: :thumbsup2

Can't wait for the next installment!:surfweb:

Let me know that would be worth the drive down to watch...:rotfl2: Sorry but I had to tease you about that one....

Sorry am I being impatient :hyper: popcorn:: :surfweb: :rotfl2:
I wasn't able to get all that I wanted.:sad2:

Pretrip installment

I talked to Harley last night and we made some decisions.I still need to book the hotel but I got frustrated with the noise level in my house while making the dining ADRs so I will wait until later...

This is what I have so far but it is subject to change(and probably will)

Jan.9-arrive

Jan.10-Ak,check in for 5k,MGM,50' Prime Time Cafe,Fantasmic

Jan.11-5K,California Grill at 8:00pm We wanted to eat at Tony's for a late lunch but it will be closed.

Jan.12-Epcot,Le Cellier at 7:30pm That was the only time I could get and I am afraid it is too close to Illuminations.

We still need one more ADR...

We have decided to stay at All Star Movies unless we come into unexpected $$ and upgrade to a moderate.

I also want to read the link that Mousescrapper gave me and look into Narcooses per Muffinygood's reccommendation.

Let me know that would be worth the drive down to watch...:rotfl2: Sorry but I had to tease you about that one....
Actually I was going to give you lots of notice this time so you can come and be my taxi driver :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

Jan.11-5K,California Grill at 8:00pm We wanted to eat at Tony's for a late lunch but it will be closed.
Good job Tony's is shut as all I hear are bad reviews there!

Jan.12-Epcot,Le Cellier at 7:30pm That was the only time I could get and I am afraid it is too close to Illuminations.
It will be tight but you got Le Cellier  The steak is melt in the mouth gorgeous!

So one more hummm Kona's pretty good, I've also heard good things about narcossee's :thumbsup2
