Hello all!
Got back a few days ago from our Honeymoon!! We had a GREAT time! We were originally booked at the Shades of Green and put up at the Contemporary due to renovations. Our room was in the wing. The room was nice. Didn't have too much of a window view, but we weren't in the room much to enjoy it anyway. Wasn't too impressed with the hotel staff. We had hot water about 3 out of the 6 nights we were there. When told about it, the response was " we are waiting for a part because the building was struck by lightening". So my husband asked them "are you trying to recreate a military atmosphere for us?" Nothing was done. We had hotwater the last 2 days we were there. I'm sure others have had better experiences at the resort. I just was not impressed with the staff.
We made priority seating for our honeymoon dinner at the California Grill. We arrived 30 minutes early. When we got there we were told it was a 45 minute wait from the time of our reservations were. I really wanted a window table to view the fireworks. After my husband spoke with the hostess a second time ( reiterating it was our honeymoon and the 45 min wait was not acceptable in a polite way) we had a table in 3 minutes. Our server was Eric and he was WONDERFUL!! Our food was GREAT! It takes a little while to get your food because they make it fresh, and it was well worth the wait. The desserts were AMAZING!
Also had breakfast 2 times at Chef Mickey's. Hubby has never been to WDW and was excited about the character breakfasts and dinners. Had lunch and dinner at the Liberty Tree Tavern in the MK. Food and service were also good.
Also ate counter service in epcot in different countries. I had the best margarita in Mexico. It was a fiesta margarita (layered flavors of kiwi, strawberry, mango and lime). I think the worst place we ate at was in Frontierland at a counter service place. I can't remember the name though. The food was just fine, it was just the people working behind the counter who were running around like a chicken with it's head cut off. There were not many people waiting for food either!!!
We had a lot of fun doing the E-ride night. We were able to wait to do thunder mountain, splash mountain, space mountain, haunted mansion and others without a wait. If we did have to wait, it was maybe 10 min. That is a whole lot better than 30-60min.
We had an awesome time, and are saving and planning for next year!
