Our Thanksgiving Fantasy - Nov 22-Dec 1 - COMPLETE!!

That segway excursion looks like it was a lot of fun. I've always wanted to try one of those, but fear making a fool of myself.

Great photos around the ship!

I have always wanted to try it as well, but DD wasn't old enough and I didn't want to leave her on the ship all alone, so I just stayed with her. Maybe one day, I will get a chance. DH LOVES them and had the most fun.

Your DH needs a GoPro so he can video these Segway excursions. I wonder if Segway tour companies would let you strap a GoPro to your helmet? Probably not. Pity.

LOL - that would have been awesome.

That Dumbo painting is totes magotes adorbs!

I know, right? Totes magotes ( said in my best James Earl Jones voice)

The Segway tour looks like a lot of fun. It seems like you could use a little bit more than 60 minutes of leisure time at the beach though.

But we have a WHOLE day coming up. At Castaway Cay.

Day 6 – Part 3

When I last left off, I had joined DH and DD on deck and grabbed some ice cream.

DD was having a ball riding the Aquaduck.

After that, we needed to head back to the room to get ready for dinner. I had dibs on fist shower, so I headed back first. As I am just getting finished, DD and DH come back.

DD was all excited. She had heard that Princess Anna from Frozen was going to be out doing meets and greets. I mentioned we might be late for dinner. She didn’t care, she NEEDED to see Anna. DH said he would take her up. She got dressed in a hurry and I am trying to brush her hair and make it presentable as she and DH rush out the door. Here are the photos they took during that time.

Here are the ship photographer photos.

They rushed back and got ready for dinner. I took some photos of the port just after the sun set – which was about 5:30 PM or so during that time.

Finally, they were ready. It was pirate night and our restaurant on this night was Enchanted Garden.

The aquaduct looks like fun and scary at the same time. With my luck I would get stuck in it.

Your daughter looks so excited to be meeting that character. Not sure who she is though. I think I have been falling down on the job with my granddaughters.

It really is pretty tame. Really fun !!

She's one of the princesses from Frozen. The other is Elsa. Yes, you need to step up your game grandma. Take your littles to see it !! You will love it, too !!!

Joining in and all caught up!

I'm so excited to be following along on a Disney Cruise trip report! Although I've technically been on a Disney Cruise (long before they were official "Disney" ships), I'd love to try another one someday. :thumbsup2

When I do, I'll sign right up for dinner at Remy - yum! The wine and chocolate event would also be on the short list. :cloud9:

I look forward to more!

You definitely need to put it on your bucket list.

They were both amazing. I am so glad we signed up for them. I wish I had listened more to the chocolate presentation, but I just couldn't concentrate with all of the delights in front of me.

I look forward to more!

Thanks !! I try to update every day if I can manage it.

I love those commercials!

How lucky your DD was to meet Anna without a 3-5 hour wait! And you had a good Anna. She looks a lot more like the character than the ones in Epcot I've seen pics of. One of my DD's friends gave her an Anna doll for Christmas. Her friends say she "is" Anna. LOL! I suppose she is kinda like her.

The segway tour looks really fun! I did the one at Epcot before it was nixed. It's just so much fun. I hoping to do one in Tampa next month - just haven't figured out which one yet.

Beautiful pictures of DD during her meet and greet. Her outfit is adorable.

Keep the ship pictures coming - they are great!

I hope they keep the Frozen meet and greet with Anna around! We sail in April and my daughter would be thrilled!! Love your Trip report!!

Yes, we them at Epcot when we got off the ship and the wait was crazy long. DD wanted to wait, but we said no way.

DH did the Epcot one as well and he said it was great fun. Bummer that they don't do it any more. I think they still do one at Fort Wilderness though.

Thanks !!! I am sure I have more.

Your DD had a perfect afternoon... Aquaduck and meeting Anna. Well done! :thumbsup2

It was a great day for everyone. I was glad I stayed on the ship. I wasn't impressed with either port in Mexico.

I don't know if they will keep it or not. DD was pumped to meet her though. Thanks for reading !!

Day 6 Part 4

So when I last updated, we had gotten our pirate gear on and headed down to Enchanted Garden to eat dinner.

Our bread selection for this evening was

Bread Service - Johnny Cake with a pigeon pea relish

For my appetizer, I got the pot stickers.

Pirates Golden "Pot Stickers" - oriental pork "dumplings" deep fried and served with a tamarind-ginger soy sauce and pickled vegetables

I really liked these. A little chewy with a sort of crunchy outside. Lots of flavor on the inside.

DD got her standard chicken.

DH got

Pearls of the Caribbean - crabmeat, shrimp and salmon mixed in pearls of couscous with lemon grass infused vinaigrette

I wanted something green, so I got a salad.

Mr. Smee's Bibb Lettuce Salad - with bibb lettuce, baby greens, chicory, tomatoes, toasted pine nuts and raspberry vinaigrette

DH got some soup.

Caribbean-style Conch Chowder - with sherry, sweet peppers, onions, tomatoes, thyme, and garnished with diced potatoes and crispy bacon bits

For my entrée I got

Jack Sparrow's Barbecue Marinated Beef Short Ribs - Rubbed beef short rips with tamarind-barbecue sauce and served with onion red bliss mashed potatoes and plantain chip

I really liked this. Lots of flavor and the meat was fork tender.

DH got

Treasures of the Seas Grilled Shrimp and Seared Scallops - served on strings of pasta and fresh creamy tomato sauce

DD got a Mickey Bar for dessert.

For dessert, I got

Sweet Temptations - a trio of fruit cobbler, floating island and chocolate cake

I love the sampler thingys they had. You get to try out three different things.

DH loves fruit cobbler so he got

Fruit Cobbler - with vanilla ice cream

I had a smaller portion of it in my sampler and it was VERY tasty.

Photos that the ship photographer took

After dinner, DD went to her club and DH and I scooted by the DVC booth to get our daily freebie which was an ornament

I settled in with my ice bag and DH went up to smoke a stinky cigar. It was really windy on that night and the boat was really rocking. I was wondering if they would even do the Pirate night fireworks, but DH said they did. I was tempted to go up, but I had just gotten the swelling down with my ankle and the pain level under control, so I opted out. DH LOVES fireworks.

Anyway that was the end of day 6. Everyone eventually made their way back to the room and we all settled in for the night. The next day was an At Sea day and it was Thanksgiving so we were all planning on sleeping in.

I am failing in my Grandma duties. :guilty: The youngest really wanted to see Frozen but I just couldn't find the time. I promise I will buy the DVD for her.

OK cruising just for Pirate night. My DD is thinking of a cruise next year because it could be easier with the new baby. They are into Pirate things so I can really try and sell it now. That and the Aqua Duck, she will be happy. I need to look into the clubs for the grandson.

The food looked really good at the dinner.

can't wait to hear how the trip ended. We leave on Thursday for Florida and I am procrastinating my packing by catching up on your trip. Was the air during the day chilly while on the boat? After seeing some of your pictures I am wondering if I need to pack some warmer clothes.

Thanksgiving was the only day where it was really chilly. All of the other days were warm. Not hot, but mid 70's. low 80's. It is hard to give advice on what to bring during a winter cruise. I would bring some warm clothes in addition to some summer clothes.

Yours and DD's T-shirts are so adorable. Did you make them? Very cute!
