Our Thanksgiving Fantasy - Nov 22-Dec 1 - COMPLETE!!

Wow! Remy looks awesome! $75 per person upcharge looks like it was well worth it. It's nice to see so many upscale restaurants on a Disney ship.

I've been meaning to ask you if you or any other family member dealt with sea sickness?

Happy 2014! I hope your surgery goes well and things are back to normal for you in no time!

It was a wonderful experience and I am so glad we did it. DH was moaning about the upcharge, but I thought we should grab the chance to do it for $150, when something like that would normally cost so much more.

I've been meaning to ask you if you or any other family member dealt with sea sickness?

Yes, but we stayed on top of it. DS had it a little on our first night and I think that is the time when it is the worst because you aren't used to it. We took Bonine and every day and it really did a good job of keeping the motion sickness at bay.

Happy 2014! I hope your surgery goes well and things are back to normal for you in no time!

Thanks Annie !! Happy New Year to you as well. Yeah - I am NOT looking forward to that surgery AT ALL. Thanks for thinking of me though :)

Catching up!

The dolphin swim looked like great fun!! and so did the Turtle farm.
I feel the same way about Costa Maya too. We never left the cruise terminal plaza and it looked scary beyond that. I had heard that Disney is trying to get away from going there, but then again it's still on the itineraries, so they must not be trying too hard.
Even lloking at your Remy pictures, I still have no desire to go there. Every picture and review I see just never sound good to me. I know people love it, but I don't think I would even eat 50% of what I have seen. I guess I do not have a cultured palette. LOL
:rotfl2:

It is very important eat this in one bite. If you try to bite into it and the whole thing isn’t inside your mouth, there is a huge mess gonna happen.
Give me something that small to eat and that isn't even going to be a concern. :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

I'm glad you enjoyed Remy. It looks like an amazing restaurant, and frankly, is a great deal at $75. That menu just doesn't seem like something I'd really be all that interested in though.

That food looked so good.

Parts of it were absolutely amazing. Other parts .... meh. It was a great experience though.

From what I have heard from other people is that they are doing it in 2014, but not 2015.

LOL - I hear ya. I can honestly say that I probably would not have ordered some of those things myself if the menu had not been set. But I ended up enjoying some things that I didn't think I would.

Great update! :)

Thanks wiigirl !!!

I know, right ??? I can see that it could be a mess if you tried to bite into it.

Maybe the other menu would have been more interesting to you. We chose the one we did because there was lobster or crab in just about everything on that one. We enjoyed and we are glad we tried it. Next time we will definitely try the brunch.

So glad to see this review of Remy. I was wondering if it would be for me and dh . I don't care for seafood aside for crab, shrimp and lobster...all of which you can't have.

I think at 75 00pp this is not for me.
I am glad you enjoyed the experience ...that part looks wonderful !

Everything looked beautiful !
Plated nicely !

Thanks for the navigators!

They had another menu with shellfish everything. Myabe you would have liked that more. I dunno. If I had to recommend one or the other, I would choose Palo Brunch over Remy. You just have more choices. Remy was amazing to do once, though.

Thanks for the navigators!

I thought you would like those. Let me know if you want me to e-mail you all of them.

Remy looked like a great experience but my DH eats NO seafood other than canned tuna and I'm not a huge fan although I will eat more than he does.

Who knows maybe one day I'll convince him to take a cruise. Right now he still says No Way!!!

Wow Remy's looks amazing. I'm really craving some stinky cheese now :rotfl2:. -Amanda

Wowsa - that Remy dinner looks A-MazING!!!!!! Good think I wasn't hungry when I read this.

That latitude cocktail looks yummy. I tried making something similar for NY's. Now I know how to modify my recipe!

And the desserts! O.M.G. To die for! :faint:

I know what you mean. I still have that list and I keep meaning to get by the store and get some. I enjoyed them so much. My birthday is coming up, perhaps I will get a good bottle of Pinot and some cheese and stuff for that day.

I get hungry reading food posts sometimes as well. I practically had to stop reading the dining reviews. :rotfl:

It is very fancy and fun. I really enjoyed it.

We were so full by then, but we managed to eat most of it. Luckily for us, the stuff we didn't eat was portable and we were able to take it with us.

Rent sounds like a neat experience. I'd let the cheese cart go on by - not enough of a cheese fan to give up vital tummy space for it.

Looks like autocorrect got you again ... LOL. That cheese was amazing. I'm getting me some soon. I am sure I would weigh a lot less if I had the same problem as you .....

Day 6 – Part 1

This was our Cozumel day. DH and DS were doing the Segway excursion and DD and I were staying on the boat. When we planned ahead, I figured I would be pretty tired by this time and I was right and I was glad we stayed on the boat. My ankle really needed the rest as it was pretty sore by this time.

Our Navigators for this day.

So DH and DS got up early to do the Segway thing, while DD and I slept in. DD and DH had stayed up late watching Frozen, so when I woke up, I let her sleep while I went and got myself some coffee and breakfast. I took some photos of the port from our verandah.

This area definitely looked more populated than Costa Maya. Lots more urban and less “third world” vibe.

I woke up DD and she wanted pizza so we went up to deck 11 to get her some. And we saw this random guy dressed up in full Scottish regalia.

I just had to sneak a photo. It was just so random and incongruent to see this on a cruise ship in the middle of the Caribbean. I dunno.

DD ate her pizza and we headed back to the room.

Today was the day I wanted to get some laundry done. So I gathered up all of our dirty clothes and headed out to find the laundry room. I looked in a couple and they were all full, but a stateroom host said there was a bigger room on deck 5, so I headed there and found some machines open.

It is $2 per load and I did 3 loads. Pricey, but I was glad I took the time to do it. You used your room card to pay for it and that was a little confusing, but there was always someone around to help, so I got it all worked out. I loaded up the machines and DD and I watched a movie in our room and got some rest. When everything was done and put away, DD wanted to do the Midship Detective Agency.

It is a cute scavenger hunt type game that takes you all over the ship. You get a game card and while playing the game, you find stations all over the ship. Each station has a photo that is interactive with the card. The photo plays a little video and from that, you get clues to solve the mystery. DD wanted to save the puppies, so we did that one. It was really fun and we enjoyed it.

There was another one with Muppets and stolen paintings that we didn’t get around to doing. I took some ship photos while DD played her game.

We picked the perfect day to do this since the ship wasn’t as crowded.

After saving the puppies, DD and I went to see Frozen and I really loved it. By this time DD was obsessed with the movie and continues to be so.

After the movie, we headed back to the room.

DH and DS had come back from their excursion. In the next update, I will tell you about that. I want to talk to DH about it first. I had the camera with me since you can’t really drive a Segway very well and take photos. So I will get a description from him and tell you about it in the next update.

I take it most of the passengers went into Cozumel? The ship looks downright empty in your photos!

Laundry on vacation!? I know many who do that, but I'd rather deal with it when I get home.
