Our September 2011 Pre-Trip Adventure!! (Update 09/29/2011 - Link to TR!)

I watched the wedding at 5am as well, I really loved her dress. Simple yet so beautiful! It seemed like they really loved each other.

I think your MK day sounds great. The only thing you should know is the Rapunzel M&G line will be Crazzyyyyyy!

You may want to be out of the Crystal Palace before the park "opens" and heading to get in line. We did that and were 3 rd in line. The whole rest of the day the line up to the castle and people were waiting for hours:scared1:

Jasmine and I got up at 430am because I knew the ceremony was starting at 5am our time and I really wanted to see Kate on the way to the Abbey! I thought everything about the day was perfect...I did shed a couple of tears thinking of Diana! I adored that woman and I couldn't help but think as a parent how proud she would be on this day! I agree with you the her dress and Pippa's..they looked stunning!

That sounds like a great day...and yes, I too have heard those lines can be crazy long! Hope you're enjoying your weekend!

Wow at getting up at 4.30am! Am glad you caught Kate making her way to the Abbey - I like the way you did not get to see a full view of her dress until she arrived. I woke up at 8am and thought that was early for the weekend! I watched the guests arrive at the Abbey and when I watched the highlights it didn't look like I'd missed much. The coverage started early here as well.

I thought of Diana and how proud she would be of both her sons. I loved both dresses and Kate's evening one as well - they sure looked stunning!

Thank you - I am hoping the low September crowds apply to the meet and greet lines as well! I am enjoying the weekend so far. Zaheer has gone to the countryside with his friends so as soon as I am caught up on here I am going to my mums to watch the football and enjoy her Sunday roast dinner! :cloud9:

I loved the Royal wedding dresses! The lace on Kate's dress was stunning :goodvibes

Your last Magic Kingdom day sounds great. Though, it is sad to think about leaving. I really want to ride Snow White's Scary Adventures, as well, since it will be closing next year.

The dresses were awesome and the lace added to the magic of that dress ;)

Thanks - I know, I'm trying to block it out of my mind but the thought does return on occasions. I want to ride that attraction for the same reason. I also want to ride Dumbo before it changes but if the queue is long I may give it a miss :goodvibes

Yes, I did watch The Wedding... I didn't get up at 5 a.m., though. Set the DVR to record it and watched the next afternoon! I thought Catherine was STUNNING.

On our trip, I'm not sure what all attractions in Fantasyland we'll do... since we won't have any kids with us, I'm sure there are some we can skip, LOL! I'm pretty sure we'll skip Dumbo and IASW. Mickey's Philharmagic is one that is on the DO list. I'd like to see the new Pooh queue... and maybe we should do Snow White's Scary Adventure since it would probably be Helen's only chance to ride it before it closes for good!

Maybe Alice and/or the Mad Hatter will ride the teacups with you, so you won't have to ride alone! :thumbsup2

The Fairy Godmother was the very 1st character we met on our 1st family trip to WDW (back in 2007) so she'll always be special to me for that reason! :lovestruc

I thought Catherine was stunning as well :goodvibes

I don't blame you for not getting up at 5am - it wasn't that bad here as the ceremony didn't start until 10ish - I woke up at 8am but watched the highlights afterwards and OH MY the cake had my mouth watering! There was a chocolate biscuit cake made for Prince William. Apparently it is a secret Royal recipe - I want it! :lmao:

I'm going to judge the Fantasyland rides dependant on the queues. I definitely want to cover the ones where it will be our last chance before changes such as Snow White and Dumbo. The Pooh queue sure looks exciting!

I had not thought of spinning the cup with Alice and/or The Mad Hatter - if they are there will be getting on the ride though am guessing they will choose a family or someone with kids.

Aaw that must be a sweet memory to treasure. As our first day is at AK I don't think we will be able to say that, though I am looking forward to seeing which character we meet first.

phew I'm all caught up, had finally noticed you had a PTR going. I can't believe this is your first trip, you are very prepared and have obviously done a lot of research. This board is great for that, wish I had it before my first trip.

Loving all your plans and your ADRS

Cute Disney shirts you purchased and :cool1: for free shipping

yikes on all the airline hassles, but glad it worked out in the end:thumbsup2

As for movies, that Alice in Wonderland movie was kinda strange for my tastes, scared the kiddos a bit at parts too.

Am so jealous you get to take such a long vacation, you'll for sure be able to get your list done, can't wait to read more :goodvibes

Hello and :welcome: - thank you for coming over and getting caught up! :goodvibes

I am very lucky to have found these boards before our first trip. I love all the information and without it I think I would have just turned up and not really planned thoroughly! :confused3

Thank you - I can't wait to eat at the place we have ADRs for!

I love the Disney shirts and was very pleased and excited on the morning I received the free delivery code! :wizard:

I am also very glad that the airline situation worked out in the end - was panicking at one point but all my dis friends reminded me to remain calm as it would all work out in the end. Another reason I love these boards!

That's what I am expecting of Alice in Wonderland - dark and scary in parts. I hope your kiddos were ok afterwards.

I am looking forward to taking the long break. As the airfare is soo costly it works out better for us to take a long break and fit everything in. I hope to post more soon :goodvibes

Wow, another 5am riser! :worship: I think I would have tried to wake up that early if I had to for the wedding but am not sure if I would have been able to! :rotfl: That's what I liked about the dress - how it was simple but elegant and beautiful. It does seem like they are very much in love - hopefully it will remain that way.

Thank you - I know I'm expecting it to be crazyyyy though we might try and get it done first thing! I'm hoping the low September crowds that I have heard so much about will help.

Unfortunately, we won't be able to do that as our Crystal Palace ressie is after the park has opened - I know getting into MK early is rated highly on these boards but as I have mentioned we are not early risers and I wanted to make sure that we arrived in time for our ADR. My plan is to watch the opening ceremony, run to Space Mountain to get FPs and then go and eat our breakfast! We will just have to grin and bear the line after we arrive in Fantasyland ;)

Julie Andrews sure is a legend - I think she has a huge impact on making the movie a classic.

I have to watch the new version of Alice in Wonderland just to see what I think and if I like it or not. I love reading the different views on the same movie. Mad Hatter is my favourite character from the movie - he's just hilarious! :thumbsup2

I enjoyed watching Mary Poppins on BBC this past weekend. Did you watch it? I can't remember which day it was on. I love catching Disney movies on television because then I make sure I actually watch them!

I didn't know it was on :( I do have the DVD though must watch it again at some point :) You watched Alice yet?

The wedding was a lovely affair and I am glad it went well for them. Catherine looked gorgeous, her dress was just stunning :)

Great MK day plans too btw :thumbsup2

I would have had to get up at 3am to watch the wedding live, so I slept and watched the highlights later :thumbsup2

You're going to love breakfast at the CP! I like your plans for your last MK day. Hopefully the lines for Rapunzel will have calmed down a bit by September, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! Try and fit in a ride on the TTA when you're in Tomorrowland, it's a great place to take a load off and enjoy that section of the park, and there is never a wait.

If you have it on DVD then you can watch it anytime! :thumbsup2 I have started watching Alice in Wonderland but am only 30 mins into it. So far I have enjoyed the characters of Tweedle Dee and Dum as well as The Queen of Hearts!

I have two job applications that are due in by the end of this week (should be completing them instead of being on here!) I thought I would treat myself after working on the applications with the rest of the movie and a home made icecream sundae! I saw the Pop Century one on these boards and it has inspired me, lol!

The wedding was lovely and I am also glad everything went well for them. Catherine's dress sure was stunning! :goodvibes

Thank you! Can it be September now?! :rotfl:

I'm glad you slept and watched the highlights later! Getting up at 3am would have been hard work.

I am looking forward to our breakfast at CP! Thank you - I'm also hoping the lines for Rapunzel will have calmed down by then! :goodvibes I had not thought of riding TTA in Tomorrowland - will def put it into our plans, esp if there is no wait! :thumbsup2

Your MK day sounds great! :thumbsup2 I want to meet Flynn and Rapunzel too, but not if the line for them is crazy! :rotfl: And dinner at Artist Point sounds fantastic, I keep wondering if I should make an ADR there since I'm staying at WL now?

I got up at 5 am on Friday to watch the Royal wedding, and I'm so happy that I did! Princess Catherine looked gorgeous, I loved her dress! (And yes, I know she's not a Princess, only a Duchess, but to me, she's a princess! You marry a Prince, you're a Princess! :)) I loved how amazing Westminster Abbey looked, I loved the carriage they rode away...it was like a real fairy tale! :lovestruc I've been watching the highlights all weekend!

Hi Tanz, just catching up on your PTR just now (after time lost watching no less than 14 hours of Royal Wedding coverage on Friday - I kid you not!)

Great start on the planning binder, you'll soon find this completely addictive!

You're not going to believe this but you and I have the exact same camera for our trips :lmao: Though at this point all I know is that it takes photographs - I'm going to have to spend a bit of time practising how to use it before we go!

We've used the photopass on both previous trips and I couldn't live without it!

We've never pre-ordered it, just picked it up in the parks and bought the CD before coming home, though from what I hear you can save quite a bit of money pre-ordering.

As it's just the two of us, I love having so many great photos with both of us in them (instead of me in front of the castle, then DH in front of the castle :rotfl:). If you decide to get one, my best advice is to use the photopass at every opportunity - the more photos you have, the more worthwhile it is!

Are you still planning on being in Epcot on 27th? If so we are there on the same day!

Hi Tanz,

I am a indeed a cad for getting so far behind. First of all great acquisition on the new camera. It is a very good idea to have Zaheer practice with it before the trip so that he can get accustomed to it.

Great idea to end on the Magic Kingdom. I concur with your leaning towards getting a Fast Pass for Peter Pan vs Pooh. Peter Pan is almost always the longer wait when I visit. I also have not seen new Pooh queue yet so when I go I don't want to rush through it.

My take on the other Tomorrowland attractions FWIW is that the TTA, Carousel of Progress and the Laugh Factory are worthy of your time. Stitch and the "Speedway" (and I use that term loosely) are definitely candidates to skip unless you have a lot of time to spare and you want to experience everything. This is your last day in MK so you may find that you want to savor every last moment and experience as much as you can or you may be so exhausted at this point that getting back to the resort to rest of the for evening is in order. It is good to play it by ear.

Thank you! I am with you - if that line is crazzyyy may have to rethink and try and meet them at another time! I am hoping that the hype would have calmed down by then! My vote would be to make an ADR at Artist Point esp as you are staying at WL and it means soo much to you guys. However, see how it fits in with your plans.

The Royal Wedding was soo great and Catherine looked amazing! :lovestruc I also think that Prince and Princess sounds better then Duke and Duchess! :lmao: If I lived closer would definitely go and visit Westminster Abbey whilst the flowers etc are still on display - it looks great!

Btw I love the new avatar - was meant to mention it when posting on your PTR but forgot! :thumbsup2

:welcome: thank you for catching up and posting! :thumbsup2 I laughed out loud at your 14 hours of coverage comment! I thought I was bad but don't think I quite managed 14 hours! :lmao:

Thanks, I have done the front cover and found things on these boards that have given me some great ideas. Just need to find the time to sit down and work on them!

That is soo cool!! :cool1: Where did you get it from? Zaheer got ours from Argos and we have taken some practice photographs which have come out really nicely. Maybe we could share tips with each other, once we figure out all the other tricks it does! ;)

We've used the photopass on both previous trips and I couldn't live without it!

Thanks for your view on Photopass - I think we may end up buying it. I may have to do a list of pros and cons to see which outweighs the other! :rotfl:

Although I have never ordered the PP I would definitely pre order it as you save approx $50! The link is on my PTR - spend the extra $50 on something else.

That's one of the reasons I want to get it is so we have photos of both of us rather then just one of us in them! I will def be getting photos taken at every opportunity - have already researched where all the photographers are normally lurking!

Yes, we will be Epcot on the 27th but it will not be a full day as it will be our last bit of magic :sad2: I would love to meet you guys - maybe seeing you will help cheer me up about the fact we will be leaving on that day :goodvibes

Hi Clearskies, you are certainly not a cad but have just been busy which is understandable. Thank you for catching up. I am enjoying using the camera. Zaheer will be using it more and has taken photos of the countryside this past weekend. They were very nice and clear - am hoping we will get just as great shots on our trip.

I am looking forward to spending our last full day at MK, though we will be spending half of the next day (our last one) at Epcot. We had to end with this park in order to see all the countries again! I do want to spend a lot of time in the Pooh queue so am glad you agree to get a FP for Peter Pan as well :thumbsup2

I love to hear your opinions on our plans, so thank you for sharing them. I can't believe I forgot about the laugh factory - I def have to pay that a visit as well as the TTA and Carousel of Progress. I think Zaheer may want a go on Speedway so will play it by ear and see how we feel. I have not heard great things about Stitch so would be happy to give it a miss. I may also want to visit the other two mountains one last time but with the heat will just see what happens :)

Hi everyone!

As we have been discussing the Rapunzel and Flynn queue this week I thought it was only appropriate to post about the movie they starred in - Tangled!! I love this movie!

imagesqtbnANd9GcTdKsg-5RJ5ZrWK8em_AtL0DTTn8r7mgz2S1nlcq6C9sQKarpru7g.jpg

My favourite things have to be Rapunzel's hair, Flynn's smouldering look and Maximus! Okay, I'll admit that I did shed a few tears over this one - first just before Flynn cut Rapunzel's hair and then at the big reunion! What can I say - I'm just an old romantic fool!! :lmao:

I also managed to catch up with Alice in Wonderland and have to agree that it wasn't what I was expecting. I'm glad I watched it once but don't think I would want to see it again. It was also dark and scary in parts, like many of you said.

Okay so a little off topic but Manchester United have got through to the final of a competition which takes place on 28 May. This is my next countdown date as at this stage we will nicely be in the three month stage!! :woohoo:

I have been reading many PTRs in single digits and can't wait to be able to say the same! ;)

Great updates! Your MK day sounds wonderful! :thumbsup2 I haven't posted this update in my TR yet, but Arist Point was the best meal we've had at Disney EVER!! :cloud9: It was so delicious! I can't wait for you to try it!

YAY! Rapunzel has now become one of my favorite Disney movies. It was so great! My favorite part is when Flynn wakes up and Pascal is sitting on his shoulder with his tongue in his ear! :lmao:

Your trip is getting closer and closer! How exciting! :goodvibes

LOVE Tangled!!! :lovestruc I only saw it for the first time a few weeks ago, but I immediately loved it and wanted to watch it again! My favorite thing about the movie is the lanterns...I don't know why, I love her painting of the lanterns, and I love when she finally gets to see them, it just looks so pretty!

It seems like a lot of people are going to WDW this month, doesn't it? One of my co-workers just got there today, my sister is going next week, lots of PTR's ending because their trips are here...makes me sad that I'm not going in May like I did last year, it's such a fun time to go! :rotfl:

I'm looking forward to being under 100 days...I think I have 149 days to go...once I get under 100, I get to make a countdown calendar!

LOVE, Love Tangled! Kadence has a serious crush on Flynn:lovestruc She was soooo blushy(made up word) when she met him. I can't wait yntill I get that far in my TR. The pictures are priceless!

we LOVE LOVE LOVE Tangled. We just watched it for the first time a couple weeks ago and the boys watched it like 8 times. My 6 yo loves Rapunzel and her gold hair, but not when it turns brown he said.:confused3 Can't wait until you meet them :goodvibes

Thank you! I can't wait to visit MK and all the other parks as well! Aaw thank you for sharing - I can't wait to eat there now! :lovestruc I look forward to reading the detailed review in your TR.

It is GREAT! I think it is my favourite recent movie of Disney! :thumbsup2 I laughed out loud when Pascal did that to Flynn - especially the second time round! It was priceless! :rotfl:

131 days today!! Can't believe how quickly time is going - am sure the panic mode will set in over the next couple of months! ;)

I LOVE it too!!! ;) I was thinking when posting about it that I hope everyone has seen it so am glad you have watched it. It has that effect where you want to watch the movie again and again and again...:rotfl: You are right - the lanterns do look really pretty and her drawing was awesome! I loved how Flynn had the extra lanterns just for them to release - how romantic! :lovestruc

I know - I feel a bit down about the number of people that are going this month and seeing all their PTRs countdown. I am glad you liked May - maybe that should be the month we plan a future trip for! However, am sure they will feel the same when we get to go on our trip - unless any of them are visiting again in September!! :lmao:

I also can't wait for double digits! I think we have 131 days so am not far off! I saw a perfect countdown calendar design on the creative boards so think I will use that for our countdown calendar! :thumbsup2

LOVE, Love Tangled! Kadence has a serious crush on Flynn:lovestruc She was soooo blushy(made up word) when she met him. I can't wait yntill I get that far in my TR. The pictures are priceless!

I LOVE  it too. Tell Kadence I think he is pretty handsome too! Aaw that is soo sweet..young love eh?! :lovestruc I, like everyone else, can't wait to read about that part in your TR - hurry up and get to it lol!! :lmao:

I LOVE it too!! :lovestruc Wow on the boys watching it 8 times! :worship: That is some serous viewing! I have to agree with your 6 year old - I didn't like Rapunzel's hair when it turned brown either. I don't think it suited her!! I can't wait to meet them either :goodvibes

Hi!

I loved Tangled too... saw it at the cinema in February and now can't wait for it to come out dvd here! :goodvibes .. pre-ordered my copy for release date of 23rd May :wizard:

Hi! It sure is great, isn't it? ;) I can't wait for it to come out on DVD either! We went to HMV when we brought the binder and they had a special offer on Disney movies. I was tempted to buy some but am going to return once Tangled is out to see if it is in the offer. Enjoy getting your copy on the 23rd May :goodvibes

The music is very good - I love all the songs especially 'When will my life begin' and found the one in the pub soo funny! :lovestruc

Trying to get daughter home long enough to see Tangle. She has seen it in the breakroom at work. She works at walmart as a cashier. I am so behind in movies just watched Toy Story 3 a few weeks ago with dh (he even suggested it). For now that is my fav.
