Our September 2011 Pre-Trip Adventure!! (Update 09/29/2011 - Link to TR!)

Hi everyone! Hope you are all enjoying your week. It's raining here today but that maybe a good thing as less people will be taking to the streets of Manchester.

I have realised that this PTR has been a bit depressing lately and am hoping to change that today!

Time for some good news. Well, I went Weight Watchers today with the intention of hoping to lose some weight. Yes, I have been eating biscuits and cake but I have also not been eating during the day. That has got to make a difference, right? ;) Well, not so! I stayed the same weight! I'm happy with that as it is better then putting on weight. Will just have to cut out the sweet things I eat with my coffee during the night! I'm going to try my best but anyone that knows me knows what a sweet tooth I have! I would choose chocolate over crisps anyday.

We are also expecting an addition to our family and I am soo excited. My cousin and his wife are having their first baby which was meant to have arrived by now - obviously wants to take it's time! However, she will be admitted into hospital on Friday if there is still no progress. Looking forward to seeing the cutie :cutie:

I have been lacking a bit with the list - have got one thing done and then let it rest! However, my mum and I are going shopping this weekend to get my toiletries, sun cream and ponchos etc. Once I have done that then I will have all my things ready and just need to get them into our suitcase!! :woohoo:

34 days today and counting!!!

I hope the rain keeps them away too.

Congratulations on the new 2nd? cousin that is arriving. It's always exciting have a new baby arrive.

Have fun shopping this weekend (hopefully you won't need the ponchos at all while in FL).

Thanks Kathy

I think it is my 2nd cousin! I am not normally very good at figuring out the family tree! It sure is exciting!

I hope to have a good shopping trip and sure hope we won't be needing ponchos - am escaping a rainy Manchester. I certainly don't want the weather following me!

Hope the rain dampens the riots.
Congratulations on the weight watchers success! (Or non-failure?) I am the total opposite of you, I could go without sweets for the rest of my life but chips are my downfall! :lmao: (although like any normal woman, I love my chocolate!)
Congratulations on the impending new addition to your family!
HOORAY!! For 34 days!!

I hear you on the weight thing. My knee has some floating cartilge in it, so my walking has been lacking. I have gained some weight back that I lost 2 yers ago and that makes me sad. I stared walking again this week, with a knee brace, to help get me ready for Disney. If I could lose a few pounds that would help too.

I'm hoping we won't need rain gear! I told my DH that rain or shine, I'm doing everything we planned on. It's going to take a hurricane to stop me! I should watch what I say, it is still hurriacne season in Sept!:scared1:

Have fun shopping! I need sunblock too, but since we're only doing carry-ons, I'm going to stop at a store once we get into Orlando to get it. I think we'll need more than 3 ounces of it :rotfl2:

YAY on 34 days... the closer your trip comes, the closer mine is!!!

I'm glad to hear that you are okay, but can't help but think about you during the times of the riots. It's just crazy. I would understand your not feeling comfortable staying in your flat, and I would say to just do what feels safest for you.

Boo on not losing any weight, but I tend to have to same problem. I cut things out, and seem to just stay the same. :confused3

Your trips definitely coming up fast! :woohoo:

I'm hoping the rain keeps them off the streets too! My little lady at work(her name is Amandeep) spoke with her dad at noon today and the riots are right by their house:sad1: they live in Birmingham...I feel so bad for her so I told her if she needs company she's just to come to our house...I feel it's the least I can do:confused3 I hope you are staying well hon!

Hope you are staying safe during these crazy times! :goodvibes I'll be honest, I don't even know why this is going on...I catch bits and pieces of it on the news, but my DH yells at me and tells me to change the channel (he HATES the news :confused3) so I can't really get any info about it. :sad2:

I'm sorry you didn't lose any weight, but at least you didn't gain! :thumbsup2 I'm nervous for weighing myself on Saturday, I've been lazy with the exercising this week, and I ate really bad yesterday, I was just starving all day, it was so weird! So if I don't lose this week, I won't be surprised!

Glad you're ok and far from the turmoil (at least, I think you're far from it... ???) Anyway, stay safe and happy shopping this weekend!

HOORAY!! For 34 days!!

It sure did help! :thumbsup2 No riots here today but it is a shame hearing about some of the stuff that has been taking place in the different cities over the last few days.

Lol thanks - am not sure which sounds better - success or non-failure. Think I will take success ;) I read that on your PTR - we all have our downfalls even if they are different things. I could happily live without chips but need my sweet fix popcorn:: I'm glad to read you still love your chocolate!

Thanks - I can't wait for it to arrive - we don't know if it's a boy or a girl so that adds to the surprise.

HOORAY for 34 days indeed!!! :dance3:

Good luck with the walking and weight loss Carey. I can totally relate with weight creeping back that you only just lost a while back - it sure is a headache :headache: If only I could be one of those people that could eat anything and get away with it but no such luck! I also have a medical condition (bad hip joints) which limit my walking. I've been walking before Ramadan but haven't managed to fit much in recently. I'm hoping I will be okay with the walking at Disney.

I'm the same - no amount of rain is going to spoil my fun. Heck, I am used to the rain in Manchester! Now hurricanes is a completely different kettle of fish! :rotfl: Let's just hope there are no hurricanes taking place during the time we are at Disney.

Thanks! Wait a minute - you guys are just taking carry ons!!! :worship: :worship: I could never do that - I barely survive with having one suitcase!

YAY!! Okay I don't want time to go fast once we are actually on our trip ;)

Thanks Danielle  It's nice to hear you are thinking of us during this time. The riots have actually quietened down today in Manchester - think the rain has played a part in that. Yeah I just knew I would feel safer at my mum's - more in numbers and all that!

I know I thought not eating during the day would have an effect but I guess my body takes a while getting used to the changes! I have cut down on my exercise though so am guessing that's probably it as well.

I can't believe how fast time is going!! :woohoo: It'll be a month this weekend!

Thanks hun - it sure has made a difference! :thumbsup2 Oh no am really sorry to hear that about Amandeep - please let her know that I will be thinking of her and her family. Birmingham has been hit pretty bad and there have even been three people killed when trying to protect their business :sad1:

It's nice that you are able to offer her company and am sure she will appreciate that. I am staying well and feel much better then yesterday - thanks again for both your messages

So if I don't lose this week, I won't be surprised!

Thanks Jen :goodvibes Lol don't worry about it - it gets a bit depressing listening to the news that's going on here anyway :confused3 Just some people making their money by looting businesses and taking stuff from shops - some of them even have time to stop and measure to see if the clothes fit :sad2:

Yeah am happy that I didn't gain! I felt like I had lost weight this week though so was a bit disappointed but am hoping it'll show next week. I have days like that where I could eat just about anything and sometimes you just have to give into what your stomach wants! Good luck with the weigh in.

Glad you're ok and far from the turmoil (at least, I think you're far from it... ???) Anyway, stay safe and happy shopping this weekend!

Thanks Shannon  Not much turmoil here tonight but was plenty going on yesterday. I'm looking forward to the shopping trip this weekend! :goodvibes

If only I could be one of those people that could eat anything and get away with it but no such luck! .

The saddest part of the this, I have 3 sisters. 2 of them are the skinnest! One of them has 4 boys and is a size 0 and the other has 3 kids and is a size 2.:sad2: That's ok, I tease sometimes I got the brains in the family:rotfl2:

I'm the same - no amount of rain is going to spoil my fun. Heck, I am used to the rain in Manchester! Now hurricanes is a completely different kettle of fish! :rotfl: Let's just hope there are no hurricanes taking place during the time we are at Disney.
Agreed:thumbsup2 We won't melt:laughing:

Thanks! Wait a minute - you guys are just taking carry ons!!! :worship: :worship: I could never do that - I barely survive with having one suitcase!

Oh, they are big carry-ons!;) Plus Kadence's personal item will be a big back pack as well as my camera bag, and bagpack for John.

YAY!! Okay I don't want time to go fast once we are actually on our trip ;)
Oh, No. Time can stop once we are there!

I agree, I'd pick chocolate over anything. :rotfl:
Congrats on the new, upcoming addition to your family! Ironically enough, my cousin is about to have a baby, as well. It's a very exciting time. :thumbsup2

Have fun shopping this weekend! Buying trip related things is always exciting and fun!

It's so not fair, is it?!! :lmao: I know people that have had babies and look stick thin. Lol, yep brains over beauty any day!! My sister is similar to me weight wise so luckily I don't have that problem.

Agreed:thumbsup2 We won't melt:laughing:

:thumbsup2 Exactly!!

That makes me feel better ;) Still think it's great though that you will only be using the carry ons.

Exactly!! Am glad to read that I'm not alone in having this problem! :rotfl:

Thanks! Haha it's a small world, isn't it? ;) It sure is exciting!! Can't wait! The last time there was a baby in the family was when my little sister was born so it's been a while.

Thanks! It sure is fun and makes the trip seem even more near! :woohoo:

Glad to hear your safe from the riots. Hope everything went/goes well with the new baby today. I'm with you on the weight the scale is stuck won't go down any further. Now I wish I had the problem of cholcolate or salty, I need them both. We have a candy drawer in bedroom that we use to hide candy from the kids. Anyways had a little snickers in there I are right before bed. Can't wait to hear about your shopping this weekend. Have fun!

Congratulations on the new addition in your family! I hope all goes well!

I can't believe you trip is almost a month away. That is so great. It will be here before you know it!!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks Sandy! :goodvibes Still no news on the baby but will let you know once I hear any news. I know, it's soo frustrating :headache: Oh no on being a sweet and salty person. Lol have done that in the past when I used to live at home (went on a hunt for chocolate!) but I try to only have good chocolate (things I can have on WW such as Curly Wurlys and Crunchies) in the flat. I used to try and have the WWs chocolate but it just doesn't taste the same. I'm leaving to go shopping as soon as today's update is done - can't wait!!

Congratulations on the new addition in your family! I hope all goes well!

Thanks! No news yet - it sure is not ready to come into the world yet!

I know, it's so exciting!!! I hope this month goes very quickly - I have a feeling it will do ;)

Hi everyone! Hope you are all enjoying your weekend! :goodvibes

No news on the addition to the family yet but will keep you posted. I'm off to spend the day shopping but had to come on here and share some very exciting news with all of you before I left for the day.

ONE MONTH TODAY WE WILL BE LEAVING FOR DISNEY WORLD!!!! :dance3:

I can't wait to leave for the airport where I will be getting one of these babies whilst waiting for our departure time.

I will also be watching the planes from the windows and being so excited at the prospect of boarding soon. Of course I will have to make an obligatory stop at the duty free shop!

Once we arrive at Sanford Airport we will gather our luggage and make our way to our awaiting transport which will take us to Pop Century. I still have not received information about our transfer but have been told we should get the full information two weeks prior to our trip.

I am hoping to be able to get a good shot of the following sign.

We have two options for this evening. Either to eat at Pop Century Food Court and get the ever so famous tie dye cheesecake as our first dessert or to head to DTD and have our first meal at WPE. I can't help but think that in one month's time I will be on my way to Disney World or eating at the happiest place on earth!!!!

Hope you all have a great Saturday!

One month :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: I can just imagine how excited you are! I'm excited for you...still bummed that we'll be missing each other by 2 weeks but hey, what can you do:confused3 Jasmine and I are also heading out for a day of shopping (my bank account is suffering greatly these last few shopping trips) hair appointment for me and a stop in at my dad's to see him and my aunt! Should get alot accomplished today:thumbsup2
