I am not well informed about current events right now. I will have to ask dh when he comes home; he read the paper and read online news feeds anytime we had down time on our trip (in lines, on the bus, by the pool...) I try to shut out the world while in the world.

At any rate, I did hear a bit about the riots (maybe before we left) and I saw that they were close to you in this report. I hope things have settled and are safer for you.

Congrats on passing the one month mark!!!

I always put the packing off until the last two days! Then do most of it very late the night before!

I have not seen the news at all, but my husband mentioned something in passing and I thought of you and hoped you and your family were well. Glad to hear things are calm now.

I normally do that as well - have everything to hand but put it in the suitcase at the last minute and then panic that I have forgotton something!! Think I may start a bit earlier this time round - maybe the start of September when we are 12 days out!

A new baby sure is exciting news!! There were actually some complications with the birth but both mother and son are doing fine now. Have spent the last couple of days with her and am going to be posting a pic of the sweetie.

Aaw thanks for thinking of me Things are much calmer now and arrests are taking place - though there are debates over how long the sentences should be.

Lol I will be the same - am not going to be keeping up with news at Disney World! I'm sure my mum will let me know if anything major takes place. Yes, they were close to us at one point but it has all calmed down now and there are schemes being put in place to encourage people to return to the shops in town e.g. free parking/tram rides. I would happily take advantage of them but can't afford to spend any more - plus will have no packing space left at all!

Hi everyone! Hope you are all having a great week!

Mine has been a very busy one! First we welcomed the arrival of this little fella on Monday morning!

He is soo cute and very good for his mum and dad. He is def a Daddy's boy and his eyes light up when he talks to him.

I also may have some other non trip related good news to share over the weekend. I had an interview this week that was a totally different experience from the last one and went very well. There were five candidates so I have a one in five chance at getting the job - am hoping this time will be good news but we shall see...

I've not really done anything trip related this week but have realised that I need to remember to ring my mobile phone company before I leave to find out if I am able to text at Disney World - I know that ringing anywhere will be out of the question but normally I can text at a higher rate (4 inclusive text allowances used per message instead of 1!)

27 days to go!!! According to our itinerary this time next month I will be at DHS!!!

I sure hope this one comes through - don't know how many more times I can take going through an interview process only to be told that I have to restart from the beginning again. I'm of the thinking that all this waiting will result in a 'perfect' job

Thanks Carey! Yep the new baby smell is great and addictive! Think it has affected my mum more than me as she has now started saying how she is ready to become a grandma!! She will have to wait quite a while for that though as am in no rush and she now has a baby in the family to keep her occupied!

My cell phone company are normally pretty good so am sure I will be okay with them. As long as I can text I will be a happy customer.

I sure hope this is the one but we shall see - was told I would hear by the end of this week so should know either way tomorrow. The suspense is killing me!!

I sure hope it was successful - it went pretty well and there is no second interview. It is not a teaching position - is in HR to cover maternity leave hence the reason I think I may have a better chance. However, they asked about recent employment law and I am not as clued up as I was a year or so ago! If it's meant to be though it'll happen and if not then I will just keep looking.

Hi everyone!! Hope you are all having a great weekend!

Soo I got the phone call I was expecting yesterday morning. I was a bit excited as like I mentioned I thought this interview went really well and I actually stood a chance.

Well the first things the interviewer mentions is 'Thank you for taking the time to come and see us and filling in the application form (at this point I sort of knew what was coming so the excitement fades) but we will not be taking you further this time round! Great!!

So I get a spiel about how the interview went really well and considering I have been out of a Human Resources role for a year I knew quite a lot and should continue applying if I really want to go down this route. It was maternity cover for a year so I was hoping to have it in place whilst looking for other work.

The person that got it had more experience then me. They did say however if he/she did not accept the post then I would be second in line. However, I do not see them rejecting the post after applying and then having the interview.

Oh well...will keep looking and if not will still be able to do supply teaching when I return from our trip. I'm sure there is a job out there.

On a happier note....
