Hi Everybody....We had a long couple of days of driving back.....but kidlettes were wonderful for the drive.....I'M BLESSED!!!!


Speaking of blessed.....Stynkerbelle, I can't thank you enough for posting the pictures of Dobie. Now I can have a face in my mind when I am praying he becomes yours to keep!!! He's absolutely beautiful!!!!

Ahhh, thank you! We need lots of prayers. Glad you had a great trip! Good kids on the drive is such a blessing. My kids were so well behaved going & coming back we were all amazed!

When we were there in July it was crowded so we missed alot. Decided not to wait on long lines because knew we'd be back in September and in APril!

Sorry I scared Stink-bell, but, if he does turn up missing there are aobut 8 or 9 likely candidates on this thread alone!!! SO cute!!!

Did you have any problems there, in Yourland, with Ernesto? WOW, we got home to a mess and our power had been out for some time..... had to throw out what was left in the fridge (fortuantly, there wasnt too too much since we ate alot of it before leaving...still, one has alot more mayo, salad dressing, etc. than one realizes!!) Hope all was ok there!

You didn't scare her, she was very pleasantly surprised! She apparently thought he had gone somewhere to be on "tv" or something. We didn't really have trouble at all. It was just cold & rainy. Kind of hit during the evening. Parts of MD had flooding & power outages. Glad you didn't lose much with your power outage--not something fun to come home too.

Good afternoon everyone. I finally caught up on the posts; next job is catching up on trip reports. I know it's OT, but here's my Monterrey Hockey Trip Report (mostly for hockeymomoftwo).
Left Friday on the bus around noon from the Texas Border arrived in Monterrey around 2:00 pm. Everyone checked, ate, and rested. First game was at 6:00 pm. Played the Monterrey team and tied 4-4 (they tied the game with 20 seconds left) . They're a good team; we've played them in the past and won and lost to them.
Before I go on I have to explain that our team has this tendacy to go out the night before games and do a little more partying than they should. You would think we would have learned our lesson after the last tournament. Well, we didn't and partyied (sp?) again . I got home about 4 am and the rest of the guys were in by 6 am. Not looking good .
We had two games Saturday. We lost 1-2 in a game we should have won, and won the other game 6-1. The drinking the night before played a big part in the loss. This put us in 3rd out of 4 teams in our group. As if the team hadn't learned it's lesson the night before several of the guys stayed out till 6 am and we had a game at 8 am .
Sunday I get up at 6:30 drag all my equipment together and head to the lobby. As I'm getting off the elevator I see a teamate with some girls getting into the elevator. The guy hasn't slept all night. He wasn't the only one either. At 7:00 the whole team, wives, and 3 new "girlfriends" are on the bus heading for the rink. The only good thing about this game was that we were playing the 3rd place team on in the other division. We won 8-0. Everyone heads back to the hotel to load up the bus and head out at around 4:30. We finally got back to the States around 10:00 (the border crossing took some time).
On the whole it was a great trip. I think we should have won the tournament (the team we tied 4-4 won it). We did have a blast though so I can take that away from it. Oh, I scored 2 goals and assisted on at least 3-4 goals .
Hockeymomoftwo they do have tournaments for kids as well. I believe we will try to have a tournament set up here in South Texas (youth and adult). If you are interested I can let you know when they do set up something.
Well, now I can get to reading real Disney TR.

You all must drive your coach ! Glad you all did as well as you did-- I mean playing hockey not and !

Don't overdo anything. SOmetimes the adults (including me) get so excited that we forget the kids can't go commando. I also think you have to stop for lots of snacks to avoid meltdowns!

That is my fear too. We do plan to get back to the hotel but I'm afraid that we'll be having so much fun we won't want to leave. Definately planning on lots of snacks.

Hey HMom2,

Another hint! Don't overpack. They have washers and dryers on site. When you go back for afternoon rest or swim time, you can throw in a load of laundry!

We did "go with the flow" sometimes....if we stayed later in the afternoon than we meant too, rather than going to the hotel late in the afternoon, we'd go ahead and stay for dinner and just maek an early evening of it. That little bit of flexability helped alot.

We have a local adult hockey league here, no traveling just a local schedule. At the championship the winner gets the Stanley Keg!

That's an awesome idea. Maybe we can work something out with a distributor around here to have a Stanley Keg.

So our plan is this

Sat night we are just exploring our hotel and possibly taking in one parade or fireworks show.

Sun hit mk for the magical beginnings and plan on staying through emh that evening with afternoon break. Dinner at ohana

Mon mgm all day but unsure if we are going to get away for afternoon break that day due to time of fantasmic ressies at mama melrose.

Tue epcot definately taking the little guy back to the hotel that afternoon as we have late hddr ressies.

Wed pirate cruise and then go to animal kingdom and stay for emh. Dinner at Boma.

Thur is no plan day. We may decide to go to blizzard beach or go back to our fav's. We are probably going to want to go back to animal kingdom due to our late arrival that day. We have dinner reserved at marrakesh.

Fri more of the same favs. Dinner reserved at cape may and mnsshp.

Sat sleep in and late breakfast at chef mickeys then probably shop a little before flight home.

I know we have got a lot planned but we are going to try and get in as much as possible because it will take more than a little lovin to get dh to come back before the kids are teens. So I really do want to get as much fun in as possible for the kiddos.

We drove. Wanted to leave 4 am, didn't leave til 5:30 a.m. mostly due to the weather --storm hit early a.m , but we had also gone to bed really late. Stinkerbelle ended up taking 5 naps! I had a printout of every exit on I95. We stopped at the welcome stations in each state. Also stopped at SC overnite down & back. With the printouts it told us what food & lodging was at every exit also told us the best places to get gas. We had activity bags for each of the kids & had a double screened dvd player. They didn't even turn it on on the way back. It was kind of fun being in the car together like we were on our own adventure together. If they have gameboys take them away like a couple of weeks before the trip & they'll be like brand new for them in the car. It wasn't a bad trip. Dobie is doing well. He's sleeping now which I hope to be doing really soon. He'll be up soon (hopefully not for atleast 2 hrs). Gave him a late bath so that should help.
