Tink came home from school today because her tummy hurt. Seems to be fine now. We think it's called new school nervous tummy. It's been a little tough making the adjustment from elementary to middle school. :sad2:

I hear you. The MVP apparently lost her skills during lunchtime & jammed her thumb. Dh picked her up because she was in so much pain. Nothings broke & she's been iced, but I think it was too much for her to finish out the day. We asked her if this means she's retiring from soccer & she replied with a HUGE :sad2: ! :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Here's another breadwinner who traded in the outrageous hours of work and never seeing family, my DH. He was in corporate advertising and working 70 hour weeks for years. Finally decided enough..he took a job at Savannah College of Art and Design this year-a great school in a great location. So now for about 1/2 his former paycheck, we can do more family stuff, we live 15 minutes near the beach, and life is a lot more simple. Cutting back from a "buy whatever you want-new car every year? no problem!" attitude to a scrimp and save one was really difficult-still working on that . but well worth the effort, don't you think?

So it is nice to see that others have made this choice as well :cool1: John used to get up around 4, drive to Toronto (about 1.5 hours at that time of day) and not get home till around 6. Sometime I would get what we would call N.S. calls uhm let me explain those: He calls from either car or work at 10 to six "I won't be home on time" N.S. Shirlock. The day that Benjamin asked him when he was gonna come visit again he started looking. EEK instead of that I turned into a single mom for about 15 months while he travelled to Chicago every week. Left at 4 on Monday got home at 7 on Friday (nice family weekend eh?)

Now we have him home. He leaves at 7:45 and is often home by 4:15. We dropped from a HUGE bunch of money to next to nuttin. But guess what? We are all happier and could care less about going out to eat so much!

SB's mom that sounds like fun; I really wish I could meet all of you guys. I get to fly free (almost free) on Continental, and I know they fly into Richmond. The only thing is I have to fly standby and since it's a holiday weekend standby might be a problem. I even have 5 days of vacation left that I need to use. :guilty: Man!!!
YOu could try!!!!!!!!!

That would be cool. Kathy, if we move the meet to a different state will you be able to come?

I was thinking we should make swaps! My dd1 is in the GS, they make swaps to give to people that they meet when they do trips or events. Obviously the lgmhs could work, but we all already have them. You make something small & it gets attached with a safety pin. It could be something about WDW, something about your state, or even you personally. That would be fun.

I have to think of something to do.

I think I can if it is moved. Just depends on where. I have a very old van!! I have put in to have that weekend off of lifeguarding, but will have to find someone to teach my classes. Lets not make a decision to late, ok?!

Also, makingfriends.com has a bunch of swaps and different craft ideas. We may be able to get one from there. Or make a t-shirt that we can all sign our names to and wear. Any other suggestions?

We're just gonna do the Richmond meet. We're planning on staying at the Holiday Inn (click on the link in Teresa's siggy). So you won't have that far to go.

I'm with both of you...DD10 stayed home from school last Friday because she was "sick"....brought her into school today and the principal (a wonderful caring person) took my crying child from me and comforted her and eventually walked her to class. The principal called me later and let me know how it went after I left. DD10 came home much happier today. Thank goodness.!!!! :goodvibes

Dallas is up 24 -10 with 12 minutes to go. This reminds me of when the Knicks were in the playoffs on the same night that OJ decided to take the long ride in his white jeep. They cut away from the game to show the police chase and my DH was having a fit. We were on vaca in Cape Cod. NSalz called us from NY and pretended that the NYC station had not cut away from the game. She totally made up an exciting play by play and had my husband convinced that she was really watching the game! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: . Watching my husband have a fit during all of this is one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
AAAHHHHH Sweet memories :teeth:

YAY! :cool1: Glad she was able to get some things worked out. Me thinks my MVP is having problems with school work. SHE decided she only had to do 1/2 her homework. Yeah, um I don't think so princess! :sad2:

Hey Nsalz, we hope you decide that you can join us in November. If not that's ok, we still  you. We'll probably talk about you (you know how PD is). Just kidding we aren't putting any pressure on you. However, there's a cute little cuddly bambino waiting for a snuggle! :goodvibes ;)

Hope things are going well with Nana!
