Ok as close as I was I just couldn't go to sleep without posting so I could hit the next milestone. I would like for my prize the copy of Cyn's sign pmed to me so I can make all of us who are getting together for the Richmond limey meet a sign for their hotel doors.

Today my DGF and I went to HD to "look at light fixtures" but since we were there........
side note DGF is making autograph books for December trip and thought MPC's would look great on left side of every other page
........My Dgf took over 70 MPC's in a varity of colors. I only took the LIme green ones. Her stack was MUCH bigger.

I was playing around with the pictures we took on our trip, and the ride photos we bought, and I made a great wallpaper for my DW's computer. Also using it as the wallpaper on my pc for now too.

Good choice Mr Oakie. I went back to my old job after 2 years of outside sales (65-70 hours I am sure you understand) Started back on Aug 1st off at 5:00 every day but the last day of the month. Less money but more time is a great thing.
My old boss called me last week and said " are you happy " I sais YES he offered to let me off at 6 every night but you and I know that you just can't cut out at 6 when the customers want to see you.
It is a little tougher now in the checkbook but much easier on my family

My weekly paychecks will be about the same, maybe a couple dollars more. However, I will no longer qualify for the quarterly bonuses. It'll be a little tougher on the checkbook, but at least we'll have more family time.

Hey, where in MI are you from? (If you're not too shy to tell....) I'm from Trenton (downriver from Detroit) for the first 28 years of my life. Theresa (Crossfamily)is in Wyandotte. My DH's family is in Bloomfield Hills, Novi, Northville, and Howell. We are now 16 hours away and may NEVER go back...not driving anyway.

We retired there after the military in Westland after living in the UP for a year, but are hardly every there in the last 2 yrs. Most of the time we are on a working. We spend around 5 to 7 day a month there( Westland)

Here's another breadwinner who traded in the outrageous hours of work and never seeing family, my DH. He was in corporate advertising and working 70 hour weeks for years. Finally decided enough..he took a job at Savannah College of Art and Design this year-a great school in a great location. So now for about 1/2 his former paycheck, we can do more family stuff, we live 15 minutes near the beach, and life is a lot more simple. Cutting back from a "buy whatever you want-new car every year? no problem!" attitude to a scrimp and save one was really difficult-still working on that . but well worth the effort, don't you think?

Well, as the saying goes... I owe, I owe, so its off to work I go. Just been busy at home. My job is supposed to be changing sometime in October though. Instead of running routes, I'll be the facility manager at our local Schwan's depot. Mostly working in the big freezer, and loading trucks. Instead of 12-14 hours per day it will be closer to about 9. Not sure exactly when it will go into effect though.

Fantastic MrOkie; Congrats on the Promotion. Sounds like you could be spending more time with all of us?
