You know, I wore nice makeup, etc. on the plane down but by the time I came home, I couldn't have cared less and just went barefaced. I think I was more comfortable without it on a 5 hr flight! I'm glad to hear they're allowing solid lip gloss or chapstick, though. That's hard to go without for 5 hours (though I'm sure I could do it if I had to.) That and a brush are about all I need till I'm on the ground.

DH is stressed cause his nose gets so dry and he must have his nasal saline spray..... I cant imagine a solid stick for _that_!

Awwwwwwwwww, I love teasing people!!! I read a decent amount of the political threads but cant bring myself to post - if I lurk I can stay calm.... once I post I can get kind of riled!!! (Esp., since I often see people REALLY not "listening" - they just _decide_ immediately whether or not they agree with the other poster and never really give other ideas a chance... ok enuf bout that! Sorry KY....oh, better not call you KY, sounds kind of funnny, huh?!

OMG, the air here in So Cal is so dry compared to FL, I have been having serious dry nose problems since we've been home. DH and I are talking about buying a humidifier. WHAT?! Maybe we should just move to Orlando....

I started to make a comment about this, but deleted it. It had to do with carry-on luggage.

Hey it is not fair to say what you did and not give details!!!!!!!!! When my ds9 was a little younger than 2 we went canoeing (sp?) Well we hit hard rapids and he fell out of the canoe and slipped out of his life jacket. I guess he had unbuckled the bottom part of his life jacket and I didn't know. Man was that the scarest moment of my life. I jumped in and flipped our canoe and dumped 2 other adults. My uncle jumped out of their canoe and flipped their canoe. Fisherman jumped in from a bridge and saved him. I was so scared. Man do I always check and double check my kids in their life jackets now. Hard lesson learned.

Ours wasn't nearly this bad. The brochure said it was a 3-4 hour trip, and that there was a picnic area midway. We packed a lunch with sandwiches, soda, chips and fruit. Diet root beer for the grown-ups, lemon-lime for the kids. When we got to the picnic grounds, there was no running water, and the river water had signs warning about giardia (the microbe from deer waste). So the only fluids we had on this 90+ degree day was a can of soda a piece, and I actually let my kids split the second half of my soda (DD swears it was half backwash, but that's because it was warm by the time we drank it). to my little drama queen and king, that is "almost killing" them. Sheesh.

Random postings have their place - have seen that sort of thing on other threads.... Thats the point for me - this is a "light", fun thread, where we chat and love it!!!! (There are great threads for other styles...which is great!) Ok, enough grrreatness! Love my limeys!!

It _IS_ - I thought it was owl! (Get it... Night-Owl-Ky!!! haha...sorry, now I CAN blame being in the sun a lot - we ended up driving to the bay for the afternoomn/evening.....BEAUTIFUL there!) I have to laugh, it took me about a month to figure out the "ky" part was for Kentucky.....before that I just thought it was a mighty cute little ending to your name!! Really sad, since my name incorperates a state also..... but then Virginia is my name too....your names not Kentucky by any chance???

Hmmm, Kentucky Danger. Either his parents were hippies or he's into movies. Wonder what kind of movies with a name like Kentucky Danger!?!?!? I thought his name was Austin Danger Powers!

at least they started off trusting you! (No more huh?)
Today, at the bay, my 7yo would not get in the water, he thought you werent allowed to swim there. I told him it was fine, we were allowed to...but he wouldnt beleive me.... Then, as we left, he saw people in the water and wanted to swim (too late kid!) I asked him why he wouldn't before and he said , so casually "oh, mom I thought you were wrong..." (what again?!)

My ds won't have ANYTHING to do with dark water since dh let them watch Jaws. Matter of fact when we were in TL ds wouldn't even go on the other side of the park while dh & dd1 were swimming with the sharks.

Yeah, we've been known to put the ski vests on backwards for that reason. How scary for you!
