Okay...short vent here...

DH and I donated a microwave to the school to use in the nursery. I brought it home for the summer to wipe it down and give it a safe home while the school was moving buildings. I just pulled it into the kitchen tonight to clean it up, and am just FURIOUS!!! It looks and smells like someone burned popcorn in it, which I can understand, but it looks like, after that, no one bothered to ever clean it! The whole inside of the microwave, which was pristine white last August, is a mucky brown color now, and it's obvious that stuff splattered and spilled after the burnt popcorn incident. I've been scrubbing at it for about 20 minutes with one of those Mr Clean Magic Erasers, but the stains and smell just don't seem to be any better. Any suggestions????

No suggestion about the stains but try setting some vanilla extract in it for a few hours with the door closed. Vanilla obsorbs oders.

Hi, Jessie! You know, the weird thing is, I'm not always on the boards when my little green light says I am (and I wasn't actually here earlier). If I have used Firefox and then keep my computer on but not on any web site, it registers me here as being logged in. I guess it's my cookies. I know this because my DH was on his account on his computer and we saw that my light was green, and yet I wasn't actually here. It's like the spirit of cynderella that walks the halls of the green thread!

There's a lot to be said for living relatively close to not only my parents (1/2 mile upo the road) but also my in-laws (about 15 min away). My kids go over there a lot and so we avoid jail and other sorts of punishment. lol.

Did you keep it? My ds9 is dying for a snake. He even saved his money and bought a cage and a top and fixed it all up. I told him after disney I may give in!!!!!!!!!

I Really don't enjoy snakes.. Although I can't say I"ve really been around them much, which is perfectly fine with me!

No we didnt keep it - he got shooed away because he came up while all the parents were waiting for the kids skits/songs part to start and a few people FREAKED out!!!! My older DS(7) was VERY jealous that I got to see it - it was pretty darn BIG. ALL my boys - dad and 2 sons- would LOVE a pet snake - my husband had them as kids (and a terratula!) I said if we ever get the car port closed in they could have one.....great......

If I were you I would also stipulate that it has to be a king snake (non poisonous and doesn't get to be too big {1-2 feet in length tops}).
