My first job was at the airport gift shops. Man was that cool. Met lots of Celebs. Especially Sports teams and players. Met MC Hammer; Sonny Bono; Richard Simmons; My favorite was the Seattle Mariners ( I didn't even know who they were I just thought cool a bunch of guys to flirt with)

Disunc have a great time at the motherland.....

....and who could forget the great 70's game shows Match Game was my favorite but that is when Family Fued, Tattletales and Press your luck (no whammies BIG MONEY) started

Cool. :thumbsup2 I remember my first brush with celebrity. They were filming the movie The Diner at my local movie theater. I remember it had Kevin Bacon & Steve Guttenberg in it. Funny thing I never saw the movie, but we were soooo excited they were filming something there!

In '93 dh and I were in San Diego visiting my brother in the Navy. We were at an outside shopping area & we came across Lorenzo Lamas & his then wife Katherine/Kathleen Kinmont --shoot can't remember her name, but her mom played Abby Dalton (an 80's reference this time-lol). They were filming the show The Renegade. That was pretty cool.

My Mom and I only see celebrities when we go down to the City. We saw Jackie Mason, and Doris Roberts on a class trip to see POTO, and christy Carlson Romano when we saw Beauty and the beast. She also swears she saw David Letterman's Nephew in Indiana.

I flew down to FL with Brittany Spears and her band and dancers 7 years ago. She was a **tch then too.

Ok, now I feel REALLY old...I know grown-ups with kids that don't even remember Happy Days.... :bitelip: :p

You aren't the only one. My older boys are a bit younger than the Happy days show, but not much! I remember watching the Original Star Trek show on TV! Talk about a long time ago! ;)

So, thats sounding pretty good - as we get closer I can say for sure!!

Quoting myself here to say that I have already finished the syllabus and schedule (taking to printer on Monday), have as much of the course web site set up as is possible before the tech guys straighten out some issues for me, have finished writing the department letter, and now really only have to do the aforementioned grading and pay the bills before we go! I am on the ball, people!! So, naturally, I'm now terrified that some unfortunate event(s) will arise to make my perfectly executed preparations all for naught.

There is always that 'ONE" thing that jumps up and bites ya in the .......!

Well, I'd have needed a boxcutter, as they were sealed tight with that clear tape. Don't think for one minute I didn't try to devise a plan for action! I had no sharp cutting implement, though. Guess I could have bought one, but didn't want to risk blowing my cover!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO you just "BORROW" a knife cutter from aisle 3!!!!!!! :confused3 :teeth:

Now I know where you got your fashion sense-Sid and Marty Krofft!

Your witchie-poo lyrics made me laugh out loud. Who said nothing rhymes with orange?

As for the bug repellant, we're staying offsite a couple of nights (that's why my ticker says 8 days when it's really only 6). When we got home from NY last year, I wasn't allowed to give blood because I had some weird bug bite and a fever for a few days, and they thought it might be West Nile virus (it wasn't). Now, I'm a little more cautious.

And who wants to do :laundy: ? I'll just pack it up dirty, then throw it in the washer at the Dolphin while I hang out at the pool. I think I'll continue my procrastination by putting on my trip planning DVD again. Goodnight, all.
Sid & Marty Au' Couture!!!! So you bring dirty clothes down to WDW! You let Airport Security judge you! :thumbsup2 Brave lady!

No it is the early signs of mom's with to much to do. :teeth: How come we cna remember past stuff, but current stuff is gone? How come kids can remember to bug you to death about future stuff, but forget until bedtime that they need something for school the next morning!

I was also a faithful Happy days follower. The best thing about that show tho was that Robin Williams got his start there as MORK!!!

That was so cool and I loved to read about what he did to Pam Daubner off screen to get some of her expressions to fit right! And to jsut mess her up. Would love to see blooper reels of that show!

My DH has been in the entertainment business for all his working life, so I stopped counting celebrity sightings and encounters a long time ago, but whenever this kind of conversation comes up, I always mention what I like to think of as my claim to fame. John Stamos flirted with me. It didn't progress into hitting on me but I am positive it would have if not for my DH and the girl Stamos was with, but we were checking each other out hard! Now, he's actually still a pretty good looking guy, but this was back in his younger days (and mine) and he was FINE!! This was when he was playing the drums for the Beach Boys; do you guys remember that? Anyway, I just know if not for DH (whom I was marrying in a month) and that girl, I'd have ended up Mrs. John Stamos! Or not, as I would never have been there in that moment without my stagehand hubby, but you get the picture. Of course, I remember this incident, but I bet if you asked J.S. now if he'd ever seen me in his life, he'd say no. lol Especially since it was, after all, almost 20 years ago, when I, too, was a hottie. Now I'm just kind of medium warm, lol That's what 20 years'll do to ya.
