I hear you. My son has Autism.. and the older he gets, the less he is with the rest of the kids. He has been held back twice as he will be in school till he is 21 most likely. Sara has a HARD time with all of this, and add to that mean girls... sometimes the thought goes through my head to say to Adults when their kids are mean to mine, or teachers are RUDE... "Hey.... Lay off.. I have no problem going back to Prison".. Just to see the reaction:rolleyes1 But then The Police and Social workers would come... so common sense wins again:headache:

I can at least relate and understand all of Sara's emotions with her brother, and her tolerance, embarrassment, etc... My brother had it. Joshua is High functioning, where my brother was NOT. No speech nothing.

Ok... I rambled... and shared more dirt and drama... sorry.
I pray Middle school will be great for both of us and our kids :yay:

OMG that is too funny!

Welcome to the  bin!

We forgot to mention that when you go to HD and SWIPE your lgmh (lime green mickey heads) you must come to us and report in for our accounting department.. (although we aren't quite sure who is in charge of that departement) As you could probably tell we are real professionals around here :rotfl2:

Oh and PD (pixie dust 112) is the QOTU (Queen of the Universe) :worship:

Great job letting our newest member know the important stuff!:thumbsup2:rotfl2::rotfl2:

No need to petition just jump in and have fun. Glad to hear about your trip, keep us informed about your plans I am driving the group nuts and mine isn't until December! If i was at my desk top i could add in some great welcome smilies so just imagine some big smiles and hugs!

I have 2 in college. They've had their issues, but are doing well these days. DH has his "stuff", but he's so darn good-looking, I keep hanging around.

I had some great news today. I had to go in for my biannual evaluation with my principal, and it was really good. When it was over, I went to do some laminating, and when I got back to the classroom, my partner told me that my principal had called looking for me, and needed to talk to me again, right away. When I went to her office, she said she had forgotten to tell me that she was moving me to the five year evaluation schedule, if it was alright with me. I said that it was fine. Then I walked out the door, and if I could do a cartwheel, I would have done one right there. I hate being evaluated. Now, I'll just have to go through it only two or three more times before I retire. Yippee!

My mom hates being evaluated too.
She's on that schedule and LOVES IT. She says you'll love it so much!

I am staying home again today. Shocker.

Hey! Plan on staying a few days later. I am coming in on the 22nd! And where are you staying, if I may ask?

Can't...:sad1: Kids start school the 24th and Joshua will need those two days of "DOWN TIME" before he heads back
Add mine to the prayer list, please. Meag is 11, has ADD at least (I think she is dyslexic, but the school refused to test for it or agree that she was, if she doesn't concentrate, she still reverses letters/numbers, though). She's also 4'5" and weighs 59 pounds, so really little, by a lot the smallest in her class this past year. She HATES being called little, though, this year she has decided she isn't little and she gets really upset to be told she is, I've started using the word petite, cause that doesn't bother her *yet*. She is excited to be going to middle school (this is the first year for it, up till now, they changed at 7th grade, so her starting 6th grade and this past year's 6th graders are moving up together ) She got a memory book at "graduation" where everyone wrote something about each one, and several said that she is kind even when others are mean to her, etc. She thought it was so nice that they said that, I just thought that if they think that, WHY were they mean in the first place... know what I mean?

That's a Full Load Momma

The "Memories"
book happened to Sara last year. Girls that WERE her friend at the beginning of the year... Were "Dissing" her but Still asked to sign her book.. afterward we found out it was kind of a Competition.. who would sign the most or ALL Books.

THAT IS NOT HAPPENING THIS YEAR. :mad]
Not so much dirt & drama. Most here know part of our story. Hubby is Bi-polar, or clinically depressed with another layer of depression on top or...or...or :confused3 and has lots of medical issues and a huge don't care about it attitude at times. He also is out on disability, and we have no medical insurance.

My oldest will be 26 next month. He has brittle bone disease and now all the pain that 100 cased fractures, numberous non casted ones and atleast 20 surgeries, 10 in 2 years, can cause. Thankfully he is permanent disabled & has the insurance. He is more "dad" to the younger two than dad is. His compassion & understanding is enormous.

I do have a 23 almost 24 yo who is on the outskirts of our lives and living his own life. Though he did promise me his big screen tv to babysit for a year or 2 for him when he moves this summer... might be nice!:rolleyes1

Jeff will be 13 in July. He is also 2 years behind in school, bi-polar, ADHD & LD. Is reading on 1st grade level, etc. Been in ED classes for 4 years, fought himelf and got control to be in self contained this year, moved to inclusion for 3 subjects, but back to self contained next year to see how it goes. His well of faith is deep, his wanting to help all is gotten from me and his wanting to belong gets him teased a bit. He has the fixed focus on one thing, which is now xbox and being able to play in the 5th grade kickball game against the teachers. He also will be 20 ish or so when he graduates.

Krista will be 10 in June. She is clinically ADD and is now being treated for anixiety, which to me is off the chart. Which means she gets so worried aobut stuff she makes her stomach hurt & needs to be assured...lots. She is 1 year behind in school and reading a little farther on the 1st grade level than Jeff. Her anixiety seems to be screwing with friendships as she has a hard time not getting her feelings hurt by being teased. She doesn't seem to get the subtle stuff.

Guess i should have PM'd that. We seem to be fighting the same battles. I know others here have special kids also and are special themselves.

Thanks for sharing your story... You carry a HUGE load too

Oh, BTW, I will be 51 this year. Didn't see your age yet!
:rolleyes1 I hadn't yet...

I have one who finished college and is living about 2 hours away -- also had trouble with school work but a cheerful happy kid. Our youngest had to drop out of school due to severe depression and is finally (get this gang) GETTING BETTER! My hubby has his stuff that i deal with -- he is just too darn blessed HAPPY all the time lol

Now that news about your evaluations is wonderful -- deserves a celebration if you ask me :cool1:
