hi everyone! the week is one day over. Short one for you guys due to holiday and for me too since john worked from home and he always lets me sleep in on those days. Today however i did need to get up and get a roll on the day. BUT only unloaded the dishwasher and ate then came down here, not much of a day so far

Been doing my regular board looking to find stuff for my holiday. Getting to the point when i can say less than half a year! Gawd i am pathetic.

hop you all enjoyed yesterday
:cool1::cool1: I'm just as obsessed as you are!!! Now that we have DDP too, I'm OBSESSING over ADR's. I went from totally laid back to now worrying I won't get any decent ADR's. Somebody tell me to Chill out, the food is free and we'll be in Disney, so RELAX!!!
Yes i have it was over 2.5 years when i 1st posted a ticker and we all THOUGHT i was nuts. Now that you have had a chance to understand the DUCK you KNOW i Am nuts. Everyday i spend over 2 hours on the net surfing reading, planning, looking at food porn, reading trip reports and just basically willing the time to disappear. John keeps telling me not to wish the summer away but i can see the excitement in his eyes now too.
That's cool....BTW....We are ALL Crazy:rolleyes1

I can relate there with the kid issue... "DD" went through a HORRIBLE YEAR that begun March of 2008. All of a sudden her friends turned on her. This year she was getting What I call silent bullying.. and being told "Oh you cant sit here" in the lunchroom.

I had a few discussions with teachers and counselors.. but finally gave up.
She goes to a new school this year.. ( middle school) and will meet up with a LOT of new kids.. so I am hopeful she will make some new and GREAT FRIENDS.

So there with the kid stuff. Both my kids have emotional issues ( and yeah, I donated some gense to that, but most of it is from dad). Last summer, Krista, then just turned 9, was told by other girls in her day camp group that she was fat. She still weighs about 45 pounds and can't stay in size 6 pants or shorts without a belt or lots of elastic! It was a hard 2 weeks until I figured out how to help her past that. This year her class has 14 boys in it. 3 girls. They are always on her, for being the oldest and the tinest. It has really heightened her anixity.

I am a tad worried about Jeff starting middle school this fall. He is going back into a self contained class. I know how rough I had it (and really fear for Kris), and I was in regular classes. ICK!

I hear you. My son has Autism.. and the older he gets, the less he is with the rest of the kids. He has been held back twice as he will be in school till he is 21 most likely. Sara has a HARD time with all of this, and add to that mean girls... sometimes the thought goes through my head to say to Adults when their kids are mean to mine, or teachers are RUDE... "Hey.... Lay off.. I have no problem going back to Prison".. Just to see the reaction:rolleyes1 But then The Police and Social workers would come... so common sense wins again:headache:

I can at least relate and understand all of Sara's emotions with her brother, and her tolerance, embarrassment, etc... My brother had it. Joshua is High functioning, where my brother was NOT. No speech nothing.

Ok... I rambled... and shared more dirt and drama... sorry.
I pray Middle school will be great for both of us and our kids :yay:

When are you going in August ?? I will be there Aug 16-21 Confirmed... am working out details to maybe go down a couple of days early.

Hey! Plan on staying a few days later. I am coming in on the 22nd! And where are you staying, if I may ask?

And for the exciting news, I got to book my resturants early than 90 days. Or at least some of them. Don't know why, but very happy.

Lets see, we have:

Whispering Canyon Café Sunday, August 23, 2009 Time: 6:20 PM We're going to give this one more try. We had an "incident" last time, but the food is good.

The Crystal Palace : Monday, August 24, 2009 Time: 6:05 PM Fam fav.

Le Cellier Steakhouse Saturday, August 29, 2009

Still have Chef Mickey's, Trails end, Garden Grill to get. I think that is it, but who knows! Gotta check the lists!:headache::yay:

Add mine to the prayer list, please. Meag is 11, has ADD at least (I think she is dyslexic, but the school refused to test for it or agree that she was, if she doesn't concentrate, she still reverses letters/numbers, though). She's also 4'5" and weighs 59 pounds, so really little, by a lot the smallest in her class this past year. She HATES being called little, though, this year she has decided she isn't little and she gets really upset to be told she is, I've started using the word petite, cause that doesn't bother her *yet*. She is excited to be going to middle school (this is the first year for it, up till now, they changed at 7th grade, so her starting 6th grade and this past year's 6th graders are moving up together ) She got a memory book at "graduation" where everyone wrote something about each one, and several said that she is kind even when others are mean to her, etc. She thought it was so nice that they said that, I just thought that if they think that, WHY were they mean in the first place... know what I mean?

So thats 3 or 4 of us with middle schoolers next year :scared1:

At least our kids aren't going off to college :rolleyes1

Kat, I thought they changed it to 180 days?? At least I am sure that we were able to make our adr's at 180 days from our first day...

Oh, so there with you. You just want to see how far you can actully smack some kids head around.... I mean, is it just like on TV and they jsut keep spinning!:lmao:

I can at least relate and understand all of Sara's emotions with her brother, and her tolerance, embarrassment, etc... My brother had it. Joshua is High functioning, where my brother was NOT. No speech nothing.

Not so much dirt & drama. Most here know part of our story. Hubby is Bi-polar, or clinically depressed with another layer of depression on top or...or...or :confused3 and has lots of medical issues and a huge don't care about it attitude at times. He also is out on disability, and we have no medical insurance.

My oldest will be 26 next month. He has brittle bone disease and now all the pain that 100 cased fractures, numberous non casted ones and atleast 20 surgeries, 10 in 2 years, can cause. Thankfully he is permanent disabled & has the insurance. He is more "dad" to the younger two than dad is. His compassion & understanding is enormous.

I do have a 23 almost 24 yo who is on the outskirts of our lives and living his own life. Though he did promise me his big screen tv to babysit for a year or 2 for him when he moves this summer... might be nice!:rolleyes1

Jeff will be 13 in July. He is also 2 years behind in school, bi-polar, ADHD & LD. Is reading on 1st grade level, etc. Been in ED classes for 4 years, fought himelf and got control to be in self contained this year, moved to inclusion for 3 subjects, but back to self contained next year to see how it goes. His well of faith is deep, his wanting to help all is gotten from me and his wanting to belong gets him teased a bit. He has the fixed focus on one thing, which is now xbox and being able to play in the 5th grade kickball game against the teachers. He also will be 20 ish or so when he graduates.

Krista will be 10 in June. She is clinically ADD and is now being treated for anixiety, which to me is off the chart. Which means she gets so worried aobut stuff she makes her stomach hurt & needs to be assured...lots. She is 1 year behind in school and reading a little farther on the 1st grade level than Jeff. Her anixiety seems to be screwing with friendships as she has a hard time not getting her feelings hurt by being teased. She doesn't seem to get the subtle stuff.

Guess i should have PM'd that. We seem to be fighting the same battles. I know others here have special kids also and are special themselves.

Oh, BTW, Iwill be 51 this year. Didn't see your age yet!

Kat I didn't think Bill was going this time...:confused3

Yeah, right! It involves food.... <sigh> Wee're stuck. That is why we are at the Suites this time, so we can let him be him and not have to be in the same room!

Can you tell how thrilled the kids and I are?!
:headache:

I am right there with you, Kat. Meag and Krista have so many of the same issues. Plus we keep having issues with meds, etc. it is such a pain sometimes, poor kid.
