We allowed them to pass and decided to head to “the room,” as Max took to referring to our accomodations at Coronado Springs. While I would have liked to stay and have lunch in World Showcase, Max had other plans, so we made our way to the Mickey bus. We were making a mistake we would make again and again throughout the trip: we asked Max what he wanted to do! I know, I know... I am not suggesting that you ignore the obvious needs of your child while at Disneyworld. But in a place as stimulating as we all know Disney can be, asking a three year old whether he wanted to go to the room or go to World Showcase was pretty much pointless. How easy it is for me to sometimes forget that I’m the adult. I’m the decider!

I don't know, it sounds like a pretty lovely afternoon the way it played out!

I've just learned something very important for future trips- not to ask my boys what they want to do next. Neither of them talk well enough for it to matter right now, but I can definitely see why it's better not to ask.

We loved CSR last time we were there. I remember a few really good naps there. It's nice that it was warm enough for Max to play in the kiddie pool.

Too funny... Max LOVED CSR and the kiddie pool, in particular.

We did have a wonderful afternoon...I remember sitting outside, by the lake, as we were having lunch just feeling the most amazing sense of calm.

It was a great afternoon!

Hello... so I probably should not say anything yet... but it looks like our July trip is back on. Granted, this will most certainly mean no trip in February, but that will be OK, too.

I really do not want to say much until I book something...but waiting for Disney to possibly release new discounts today has been way to painful for me not to share with my Disfriends.

I would really like to book through Disney, for a number of reasons, but... I'm now seriously thinking about booking through Southwest, Travelocity or Expedia since they all come in close to a grand less than Disney does. Not sure though... I know when I want to go and I know I want to go back to CSR!

Fingers crossed that this happens...

Unfortunately when we popped by your room our room still wasn't ready - remember, you let me use your room phone to call the front desk?

It's so much fun to be at exactly the same time period in our trip reports it's like really reliving it again!
And we do have fond memories of the Max's pool as well!

I am really interested in what you are going to do about July! Whatever you decide I hope we will be hearing about it!
The only thing is, please keep in mind that if you book with something other than Disney, you might find yourself looked into a deal which you cannot get out of - I would always rather book with Disney than a third party! But that's just me!

I love that you asked Max if he would rather go to WS or CSR. Did you think he would actually pick WS? I'll have to remember this on our trip, no asking the kid- tell the kid what we are doing.

Although I am sure you would have much rather gone to WS it sounds like you had a lovely time back at CSR and Max must have loved the kiddie pool.

I can't wait to hear about Jiko.

It went more along the lines of, Do you want to go on ___________ ride? And he'd say no, having no idea what the ride even was! Oh, dear. But we did have a great afternoon that day, so it worked out fine.

Thanks! I have my husband this close to agreeing to buy plane tickets. I can fly us direct out of Hartford on Delta, at the times I want (early morning flight out, evening flight home) for under $800 for all three of us. That seems pretty good to me! I'd love to see something even cheaper, but that's a lot less than we paid to go in February.

I figure we can deal with where we'll stay once we hear about our tax return! I hate to admit this, but I am exceptionally good at wearing my reluctant husband down. He isn't convinced that we should be spending the money, having just been in February. I reason that if we can do it comfortably, we should! I'm sure we won't go next February as a result, but I am hopeful we'll be moving by then.

Thanks...I sure am, too! I don't know how I could feel in such desperate need of a vacation again, since I just went on one, but I do! And I know that feeling will only grow between now and then. Spring in the eighth grade (which is what I teach) can be very interesting.

Sounds like Max had a great time back at the hotel. Did you all nap? I'm a big fan of napping on vacation, sometimes you just need a good nap!

Thank you. We definitely went back and tooks naps. I think that might have been one of the only days he actually feel asleep in the afternoon, if you can believe that.

Thanks...I'm not too worried about it actually! And we should try and get a greater NY dismeet together or something. It would be cool to meet everyone.

Yeah, it was pretty neat rotfl2 that it worked out that way and that we all got along so well. I'm not always the most outgoing person in the world and meeting new people can sometimes make me very nervous, but this time, not at all!

The Jiko update is coming. I took a bunch of pics at AKL that need resizing and then I had to look back the menus on allears to try and remember what we had. So, that one's taking a little longer than I'd like.

Hope you're moving out of your PDD... its hard. Went through it a bit myself. It can be tough to be on the Dis, even when you're in the midst of a TR, if you're not sure when you're going back again, even if you know it will be farily soon!

Hello, everyone. I didn't say too much about this on here since it really isn't that big of a deal...happens to kids all over America...all the time! But Max had his adenoids removed this morning in what was possibly the quickest surgical procedure I've ever seen. Its hard for me to believe (and now I'm showing my age! ) that they can put you under general anesthesia and have you outta there in under two hours! Crazy. When I had my tonsils and adenoids out, I was in the hospital overnight!

There was some risk that he would have to have his tonsils out, too, but those looked good, so they stayed. This means super fast recovery for little Maxie. Also means he won't have to stay out daycare for two weeks, which would have meant Mark taking two weeks off with no pay! Luckily, none of that happened.

He was a bit out of it when he first came into recovery, but since then he's been jumping around and happy.

That's one thing to cross off the list!

I know it's a common procedure but you're always a little ansy when something happens to your little one! So glad it went well!

So glad that things went well and he'll recover soon! I know what you mean about how quick and easy things are now--when my oldest dd got tubes put in her ears (4 yrs ago) the literally took her back, put her under the anesthesia, did the procedure, and brought her back to me within 15 minutes! We had to stay another hour for her to wake up, but then we were out of there. Amazing! I guess things have come a long way since we were kids!
