Thank you everyone for reading. I thought I lost people along the way. As promised, it is Wednesday.
Animal Kingdom and Hoop Dee Doo Revue
There we were in AK relaxing on the rock wall, out walks a CM from behind a huge fence. She had on one of those yellow shirts with the drawings on it, so I assumed a character was just behind her. Now, you might think it would be Grumpy himself walking from the fence (actually that was what my sister-in-law was expecting). Nope it was Devine! We have never seen her in person and let me tell you she was amazing. I was amazed how she stayed in character with swarms of people around her. She gracefully moved from tree to tree. It was just a wonderful sight. I did take some pictures:
After Devine we packed up and went on the Safari. Now we had FP for the Safari and this must have been the longest fast pass line creation. We must have waited 20-30 in the fast pass line. I really felt bad for all of those stand-by people because their line did not move at all. The people in line behind us had the cool Dream Fast Passes, I was literally drooling over them and asking all kinds of questions like, how did you get them? Did you use the Everest FP yet? Blah, Blah
. They really were not too friendly, all they said was that they gave out on some ride and did even mention which ride. Yes, they used Everest. Then I heard them say, we have to go pick up someone up at the airport and left the long Safari line. Now do you think since they were leaving for airport, they would be friendly people and pass the dream fast passes onto the friendly guests in front of them? NOOOOOOOO, they just walked out of line with the dream fast passes around their neck. I was so disappointed. I am not bitter about that one either. Next behind us is a family from CT, they spot DHs Red Sox shirt and strike up a conversation.
CT family: Are you from New England?
DH: Yes
CT family: We are from CT and we love the Red Sox. In fact, I almost named my son Damon. Good thing I didnt or we would have another curse on our hands.
The conversation continued about Red Sox players and stats. Something, I dont know anything about. The minute this CT family started talking to DH about the Red Sox, his tune changed from Grumpy to Cheerful. Go Red Sox!!!! All I have to say is, I am sure glad the Grumpiness wore off. After an extremely long Red Sox conversation we finally boarded the Safari Truck. The girls loved the Safari and DH took lots of pictures:
We then proceeded over to the Maharajah Jungle Trek to visit a friend of my parents. At first we asked one of the College kids if she knew Patty. The College kid says, I dont know her, but ask one of the old CMs, theyll probably know her. I was horrified that she used the word old to describe people in their 60s. This college kid looked like she had a rough night partying the night before. She was clearly just there to collect a check, not to entertain kids. Needless to say we found Patty without the assistance of the college kid. Patty is really nice, she explained all about the Lizard to the kids. She is wonderful with kids. Patty laughed at the response of the college kid. Everyone, Say Hi to Patty:
We said our goodbyes and walked over to Everest to use our final set of FPs. Oh how I love this ride!
Then we proceeded over to Its tough to be a bug. Lilo was so funny, she was trying to catch bugs flying in front of her. We were laughing. I thought that she would be scared, but she liked the show. After the show, we were just exhausted. The kids wanted a drink so we bought them each one and departed the park. It really was a great day, just way too crowded after lunch.
When we returned to the guest suite, my muscles were sore so I told DH, I would take the golf cart up to the hot tub with the kids. I tried relaxing in the hot tub, but the kids started fighting. You know fighting over who is sitting next to the best air jet in the hot tub. Then splashing. Just plain old annoying one another. To the point where I had to pack up and head back to the guest suite because I was tired of yelling at them.
We decided to leave early for our ADR since we were very unsure about bus transfer from Fort Wilderness to the Hoop Dee Doo Revue. We got to the bus station and it was the biggest bus station ever. Buses were pulling in and out and we did not have a clue where to go or what to do. DH told me to stay with the kids while he would ask someone. While sitting there, the family next to me was panicking big time, they were late for Mickeys Backyard BBQ and were not sure if they would let them in late or not. They hopped on a bus while I waited for DH. DH came back and knew which bus we needed. We got on and while sitting there on the bus I was still feeling achy. I said, gee I wish I had an Advil or something because I am sore. Let me tell you that achy feeling did not get better with time. In fact, it got extremely worse. As we stood in line I was certain that Lilo contaminated me with her illness. I was the one doing all the complaining at this point. I felt like crap. This was our conversation:
Me: I am going to walk around to find a store for some Advil
DH: Now?
Me: Yes, I feel like crap and I need something
DH: They are about to let us in. What about our tickets, they are all together. I dont want to split up and have one of us not be able to get in.
Me: Sigh
I sucked it up. They opened the doors to the Hoop Dee Doo and it was an absolute ice chest inside there. It was seriously one extreme to the other. The dramatic temperature fluctuation did not do anything for my illness. I was going nowhere but down hill fast! I looked around the room and considered asking another Mom if she happened to have packed an Advil or Tylenol in her purse, but I could not muster up the courage to interrupt their family get together. So I sat there like a bump on a log with the chills waiting for the show to start. It was bad, really bad. I wanted to leave; I did not care if it was pre-paid. If this was the same cold Lilo had, I can understand why she was so needy and grouchy.
The show started and Aurora was just a riot. She laughed so loud. She loved every minute of the show. Quite honestly, Lilo was just too young, she just sat back a watched the show. She did comment on the pretty dresses the ladies were wearing.
I ordered some tea to drink to warm me up, but it did not do any good, it really was cold in there. Lilo had on a sundress and she was shivering. She plumped herself in Daddys lap so that he could keep her warm. The show went on and on, it felt like we were there all night. I barely ate any of the food, I had no desire to eat, but I picked at the food seeing as we just dropped a small fortune for Category 1 seats. I could not give you a fair evaluation of the food because I felt horrible.
Bare with me, I cant remember many details of the show, nor can I remember anyones name but there was this scene with this couple that was a riot. One of the ladies in the show took a liking to a gentleman in the audience; well call him Fred because I cant remember his name. Now Fred was in his late 50s and he was completely bald. Fred was there with his wife celebrating their 2nd wedding anniversary. The character would rub her braids on his baldhead, and pick on him through the entire show. It was pretty funny and his wife found it to be down right hilarious. The woman was practically rolling around on the floor.
Well, the show finally ended and we had to take a bus back to the car. While I sat on the park bench I told DH that I did not want to get him sick as well, I would sleep in Lilos twin bed and he could share the big bed with Lilo. When we got home the first thing I did was run to the medicine chest and grabbed one of my Dads prescription strength Motrin pills. I needed the high-tess meds. Then I went straight to bed. As I laid there, every single muscle in my body ached, I could not think of one single area that felt good. I prayed that I would be better in the morning because tomorrow would our last park day. I heard DH yell from the doorway, what time are we getting up for rope drop? I glared him the look of death, he laughed and went to bed as well. How will I ever make it through the night or the parks tomorrow? Find out in the next installment.
