Our October Escape 10/13/11. TR Day 4 Wedding Day Part 5 A Little Fun Time at MK:)

starting working on our first newsletter for our guests last night. I figure it will be a fun way to get all the info to our guests as far as tickets, itinerary, hotels, etc. We are planning on doing two newsletters (this one and another closer to time with last minute details). I'll get pics up as soon as they are done so you can tell me what you think.

We are also going to do a personalized guide to the parks straight from bride and groom. Most of our guests either have never been to Disney (can you IMAGINE?!?! ) or haven't been since they were really young. So, it should be fun to play "host" to the newbies and show them firsthand (without having to be with them every second) why and what we love about DW! I'm really excited about it.


On a different note, FH and I tried on a few wedding bands yesterday on a whim. So much fun. He really surprised me with the kind of band he liked. It was fun. Also had my ering cleaned for the first time in forever!! So glad, cause now its all sparkly and fabulous again!

Now if this awful cold rainy weather would just go away, I'd be set!

We had Tanis as our WP and she was great. If you have the idea she will somehow make it happen. One great thing about her is how organized she is, she will make you feel like guests on your wedding day!

So glad to hear that about Tanis! I definitely need someone organized! I like to pretend that I am...but let's be real. I'm not at all! Yay! This feels like it's finally real!

Wow...can't believe it's been so long since I've updated. Not a lot has been going on on the wedding front, but lots in the personal dept. Last month, we lost my FH's great grandmother, and a month later exactly, we lost his grandmother. It's been really tough. Add into that a stressful month of preparing for dance competition and convention, starting a second job, and contemplating moving to another state, and I've been a little crazy! But, hopefully now I'm back and rearin' to go!

As soon as I get some more photos uploaded, let the planning resume!

Ok...here are a few updates and a few change of plans.

I think I might buy this for MOH since it matches my colors and its oh so cute!:

I'm also going to make something for MOH hair using rhinestones and feathers, similar to this, just pink or maybe teal (which is an accent color):

I was supposed to go to the Jimmy Buffett concert tonight, but due to car trouble, I was unable to make the two and a half hour drive to the show. Apparently, the last time I got my oil changed, they didn't put enough oil back in my car. grr!! So, I had to deal with that, instead of wasting away again in Margaritaville.

So, I'm cooking yummy Jamaican jerk chicken for dinner, drinking Landshark Lager, and wedding planning! Got lots of crafty things at Michaels today. Crystals for hidden mickeys on mine and MOH's shoes and MOH's hair piece. Also got some stuff for shirts for my dad, flower girl, and myself.

Tonight, I'll get pics of everything uploaded and posted. So, although I really miss Jimmy, I had a productive wedding planning day! (And I didn't have to go to work-big bonus!)

Just finished the newsletter for our guests. Most of them have either never been to WDW or it's been a long time since they've been, so there is a lot of basic info about the parks and not so much about the wedding! Which i think is so funny. Sometimes I think I'm more excited about going to Disney than I am about getting married!

It's just that I've been in love with WDW a lot longer than I have with FH! He says he understands and it's ok by him. Thank goodness! Anyway, here's the newsletter. We got inspiration from other DisBrides, so sorry if I stole anything from you! haha. Please excuse the first page. I was attempting to get rid of our last names, but then I realized, I don't really care. But anyway, the cover page looks a little odd because the top half of it is missing.

Tell me what you guys think, and let me know if I missed anything, as far as grammar, mis-information, or tips and tricks. I'd like to get these sent out ASAP. Will be working on getting official invites done tomorrow as well. They will go out first, but NL will be right after. It's nice being an Escape bride and only having 18 total guests. A few are families, so it's nice to only have a few invites to put together. Although, we are using the same template for our wedding announcements. And I have a huge family. That's gonna suck! But I'll deal with them later. ok....I digress. Newsletter time:

I was cleaning out the garage today, and I found the Leave a Legacy that we got my nephew on our engagement trip! So excited! He was 4 months old when we went, and now he's six years old! My how the time flies! He has no idea yet that we are going to get married at WDW. He knows that he will be our ring bearer, and is excited, but he will be blown away! We are planning to tell him this Friday. Have him over and have a Disney party and then break the news. I am going to give him the Leave a Legacy certificate for sure, and a few other things to help break the good news. I bought some Mickey cups, plates, and bowls a couple of weeks ago at Target, along with a Mickey Head serving platter. I'm going to break those out for our party food. And I think I'm going to make a little photo montage of all things WDW, and maybe make a letter from Mickey to give to him that says something about Guess who's going to Disney? Beauty and the Beast is his favorite Disney movie (Which makes me SOOO happy, because it's mine too! ) so I might do a "Be Our Guest" kind of thing too. I've got a few days to get it together. Thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated. Esp. if someone has found anything cool on the Creative boards for this kind of thing.

Also working on invitations this afternoon. Have to make a quick run to Michael's and the fun can begin. Will be posting pics of Andy's (my nephew) party preparations, invitations, and I also got a lot of welcome bag goodies the other day, so I'll get those up here soon as well. Time to get busy!

FH just bought me Fantasia/Fantasia 2000! Super excited! I love Fantasia, and have been hinting about getting it for years! He finally got it for me, and just in time because it's going back in the vault! Whew.
I also got Tangled on blu-ray for Easter from my mom. I'm such a spoiled only child! But yay for my mom. I can't believe how awesome it looks on blu-ray. I was blown away by the color and quality of the picture.

Thunderstorm is heading my way, so I'm calling a movie day!

Thanks guys! It's nice to know that someone is reading my PJ, and I'm not just some weirdo writing to myself!
FH and I worked a long time on the newsletters! I hold a degree in creative writing, so I always want to write long, flowery, descriptive paragraphs, and FH is like, "just tell them what they need to know!" Short sweet and to the point. So it was a struggle, but we finally got it! And we had a lot of fun getting them together. Which is good, because I think that we will do at least one more either before the wedding, in the welcome bag, or both. I just want to make sure that no one can come to me and say, "I didn't know about this or that." As a dance teacher, I hear that all the time from my students and parents, and I'm NOT having that at my wedding! I am willing to overplan if it means that I can have a wonderful, stress-free wedding week!

Now, if I could just get the actual invites done. I want to send the NL at the same time as the invite (not in the same envelope though), but I can't seem to get them started even. I'm doing them myself, and I guess I'm just scared that I will mess them up, or they won't be exactly as I imagined them. Maybe I'll enlist the help of some crafty friends and FH. Anyone out there wanna come help me with invites?

Why don't you have a go at one invite and see how it turns out? You could always grab others to help you once you know exactly how you want them to look. I was really nervous making mine, but then I only had a few to make and I just roughly put things together before I went ahead with them. Are you creating digital designs or have you got to get the glue out?

It's going to be a long night, but at least it's fun stuff keeping me up!

soo.....I STILL don't have my invitations done yet! That's what I get for DIYing it. Trying to make it simple and hassle free. Yeah right!
My stupid printer is being stupid, (it's all so very stupid! ) and I've been struggling all night trying to get the last little bit done. Hopefully tomorrow.
I have a DIY list of things a mile long, and I only have 5 months til the wedding. I better get cracking!
First project is done, and I'll post about it tomorrow morning. I am so in love with the finished product!! Hopefully, I will be starting a new project tomorrow. I need to do a couple at a time I think, if I'm going to get it all done.
I also need to get the invitations done and the custom stamp ordered. FH wants a pic of us for the stamp, but that just seems so weird to me. I'd rather have something Disney or wedding related. Not a big fan of pictures of myself.

I will leave you guys tonight with some pics of welcome bag goodies I've purchased so far. 95% of the stuff is for my flower girl and ring bearer, but I have a few other items for the lovely lady guests. Not much for the guys yet.

On a side note, I finally told my ring bearer (who is also my nephew and the love of my life!) that we are getting married at Disney and he's going. He is super excited and that kid NEVER gets excited about anything. Will post pics tomorrow. Anyway, it's too late for me to be updating my PJ, I am randomly rambling. It's bed time! I have Zumba in the morning!
