Our "Not So Scary" Return to WDW! (updt 11/14) Day 4 - Magic Kingdom - pg. 12

The trip is NOT cancelled. :woohoo: :cool1: :dance3:

I don't have time to explain now, as we're off to baseball practice (it's 95 outside, plus humidity, UGH :headache: ). I'll be back tonight to tell you about the compromise, and the changes in our plans (suprisingly few for the money we'll save!).

So, the when is 9/6-9/12.

The trip will also come just ONE day after KJ's 30th birthday!! :bday:

Now, for the WHERE. We decided to go for POR. In one room with a trundle.

********************************************************
Sounds like our trips have a lot in common! We are going September 5-9.

My husband's birthday is three days after we leave. I have his birthday noted on all of our ADR's.

AND - we are also staying at POR with a trundle bed.

Maybe we can help each other out with tips?

Awesome! :thumbsup2 I've got to figure what my exact plans are for :chewy: bday, and then I'm going to call and make them official.

Maybe we'll run into each other at the resort! I'm easy to spot with 4 boys. :lmao:

welcome to my PTR!

My goodness this DIS boards have been a roller coaster lately. I can hardly stand it! ;) Glad this one has a happy ending. Looking forward to more. popcorn::

Atleast I'm not alone in my drama, I guess. :confused3

Update coming up! :thumbsup2

Welcome to my PTR!

So, I started thinking about how I could "trim" the trip without ruining it. And I came up with some great ideas that will save us almost $400! :woohoo: Not a whole lot, but it's better than nothing (should be almost enough to cover the gas to and from! :thumbsup2 ), and :chewy: approved! :yay:

So here are the changes....

Since we are arriving after 8p.m. on the 6th, I decided to stay offsite for that night. *cha-ching* We'll be staying at Comfort Suites Maingate again. We stayed there on our arrival night last time, and we had no complaints.

We originally were due to leave on Friday the 12th. This has now changed to Thursday the 11th. *cha-ching* This isn't a big deal because on Friday we were only going to have a few hours at the park so that the boys could get home in time to rest before their football games the next day. So, this also means that we now only have 4 day park passes instead of 5. *cha-ching*

So, like I said all of this saves us almost $400. I was worried that :chewy: wouldn't be happy with this either, but I guess he's just happy to be saving something!

In the next post I'll finally talk about the Itinerary and the ADR's!

Nice work Melissa! I always say a few days at Disney is better than no days at Disney! Good job on the cost cutting measures!

Allyson :)

So, now that the drama :headache: is behind us, let's get down the good stuff!

Saturday Sept 6:
:donald: and :goofy: will both have their first football games of the season at some point during the earlier part of the day. We'll have everything packed and waiting by the door so that as soon as we get home the boys can shower and we can hit the road! :drive: Keep your fingers crossed for early games!! :goodvibes So, as I said in my last post, our first night there we'll be off site. I'm hoping that we'll be in before 10, so that we can get a good nights sleep.

Sunday Sept 7: Animal Kingdom
We'll get up and be on the short trip to POR by 7. Once we get there we'll check in, and hop on the bus to AK. We have an 8:35 ADR with Donald and friends, but this may need to be pushed back a bit. What do you all think? As long as we don't get lost again (read the last TR for more info) I think we should be at POR and checking in no later than 7:30. What time do you think that we need to be on the bus to make our ADR?

Monday Sept 8: Epcot
The plan is to be at Epcot around 8:30. We'll explore Future World and ride all the fun rides. Then we'll head back to POR for a rest. We'll be back at Epcot at 4 for our 4:40 Coral Reef ADR. After dinner we'll ride anything that we may have not gotten to do earlier, and then we'll head over to World Showcase for the evening. I'm really excited about this since we didn't get a lot of time in WS last time. I doubt we'll stay for Illuminations since we have an early morning the next morning.

Tuesday Sept 9: Magic Kingdom
We have an 8:05 ADR with Pooh and Friends. I'm really excited about getting some pictures of the boys in front of the castle and an empty Main Street. :woohoo: We'll get as much done as possible and then we'll head back to POR for a rest. We'll head back around 5 for MNSSHP.

Wednesday Sept 10: Off Day
I'm so excited that I've been able to keep this day of our trip! I was worried that I was going to have to cut it. Anyway, this day we'll sleep in, and then we'll relax at POR for a while. Then we'll clean up and head to DD. After DD we'll head over the Polynesian for our 7:25 ADR at O'hana. I think that this is the meal that I'm most excited about. I'm still calling for an earlier time, but so far no luck.

Thursday Sept 11: Disney Hollywood Studios
We'll get up and check out, load the van, and then catch the bus to DHS. We'll hang out here until we're done, and then we'll catch the bus back to POR and head home. :drive:

So, there you have it. What do you think?

So, today we are at 90 days. It feels good to be under 100!! :thumbsup2

:donald: is in a baseball tournament this weekend, so we'll be heading to the ballpark soon. It's gonna be another hot, sticky day here in North Ga. :sunny: It'll be good prep for Disney I guess. Last time we went in February, so a hot Disney trip will be new to us.

Anyway, hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Ok, so I was off by a day. :confused3 We were at 91 days on Saturday, so 89 today. :rolleyes1

The anticipation level is growing. We got out the dvd from our last trip and watched it tonight after dinner. It was exciting, and pooh: didn't move from his seat. He was 9 months at our last visit, and he was just amazed at seeing his brothers will all of his favorite characters. :lmao:

I'm trying to come up with a good countdown calender idea. I'd like to get it started with 75 days to go, so that gives me 2 weeks. Last time we did a paper chain. I'm thinking about doing something with the Mickey Head paint samples from Home Depot. Any ideas?

I'm also thinking about starting my own photopass share since there doesn't appear to be any open for my trip dates. Any info on those would be appreciated!

I'm off to bed now. The boys want to go to the pool tomorrow, so I'll need my rest. ::yes::

we had a near ER visit this a.m. :worried:

:goofy: was pushing pooh: on his tricycle through the house, and pooh: fell off and his head hit the corner of the (square) knob on the entertainment center. He stood up and there was a lot of blood gushing out of his forehead. All over his face and the carpet. It was 8a.m. so I told the older boys to get dressed and wait by the front door. There was soooo much blood that I couldn't tell what kind of wound it was. Thankfully within 2 minutes a knot had appeared and the bleeding slowed down. It was more of a puncture wound than anything, and the bleeding stopped so we skipped the ER and just made him take it easy for the day. pooh: is so cute about it. He keeps saying in his cute little 2 yr old voice "ouchie feel better" and "crash bicycle" and "bicycle hurt me".

I will say though, that much adrenaline rushing in the a.m. wipes you out for the rest of the day! :crazy2:

Awww poor guy! Hope his head is feeling better! Those little noggins take a lot of knocks while they are growing up!

I bet it will be such a great trip for him being older this time and understanding a lot more of what is going on around him! It will be fun!

I did a Photopass Share last trip and it really was quite economical! I hope you can get one going or find one to join over your dates.

Allyson :)

Got together all my old gold jewelry yesterday, and today we went to sell it. Got $300 for it! :woohoo:

We have to sign :donald: and :goofy: up for football next weekend ($275 each!! :faint: ) so this will be $300 less that I have to come up with for that!

Not to mention, I'm on the ebay prowl for 2 Maclaren Volos (or maybe 1 volo and 1 that reclines). I sold my old double stroller for $50 the other day, so that'll help with the new stroller prices too!

84 days and counting! :dance3:

:chewy: also wants me to go ahead and sign up for ExpoTV, so maybe we can start making a little bit of $$ from that!

Hope all the Disney Dads have a great Father's Day tomorrow!

I've been Expo TVing since last August and have made over $2500. It has had its ups and downs as far as some of their requirements and promos but all in all it has been a very good gig!

WTG on the gold!

Allyson

I got 2 (TWO) Maclaren Volos on Ebay for $73 + shipping!! :woohoo: One of them is brand new in the box, and the other is slightly used. :thumbsup2

I'm thinking the boys and I are gonna head to the mall today and check out the Disney Store. I know that January and June are their clearance months, so I'm hoping for some good deals! UPDATE: We're back from the mall, and I got all 6 of us 2 shirts each for $64 including tax!! :woohoo:

I'll post pictures of the shirts tonight.

So, here they are...They were $4.99 each!

.....

What do you think?

Love 'em! I did the $4.99 Tshirt order for my bunch earlier - didn't have as wide a selection since all the boys were an Adult Large. I pretty much bought one of everything that was that price that came in an Adult Large. Wound up with 7 shirts - 3 were Grumpys! Oh well - it suits 'em!

:rotfl2: I'm glad you were able to get in on the good deal too! I had a hard time finding Yth Large at the store today. :confused3

The boys are really mad though, because I told them that the shirts will not be worn until our trip. I'm so mean! :rotfl:
