Loved the butter balls...
And loved the update!
they were little replicas of SE!
What a darling bird bath! I want one for my garden to go with the tink windchime we bought!
What a great view for lunch... and I love the pictures of the flowers and things at EPCOT!
i love the topiaries at epcot......theyr'e so cool! i can't imagine how much work goes into them.
looks like i found a reason to have lunch at rose and crown when we go to epcot.
i could not really tell fromt he picture, were they about half beer sizes?
yes, they were half-sized, about 6 ounces each. have fun!!!
Can't wait to hear how the rest of the afternoon went Did Ray require many pitstops?
you'll just have to wait and see.......
Love the update.....I don't think my DH would be walking after all that beer! We would have had to put him in the stroller instead of DD

.
ray was okay to walk......but a stroller does sound like a good idea!
WooHoo - Ray's discovering the "allure" of Epcot!
Scorecard reads: One country; 3 big beers; and 5 tiny beers! 10 more countries to go!
I was wondering also - whenever I've had the fish & chips, it's one really, really long piece. Did they change this?
i don't think they changed it. ray had 2 pieces of smaller fish instead of one long one. i think it depends on what they have available. but i've seen pics since we've gotten back of the one long piece of fish. i'm glad you're keeping count of the drinks b/c i certainly didn't!
Great update!

I love the tink bird bath.
Wow!! Did Ray finish all of his drinks?
BTW~Your drink looked really good.
he finished most of them. he did leave a little bit of beer in a few of those glasses, but for the most part he finished.
GREAT UPDATE! I'm so glad you were able to go back to Epcot, and still shocked that Ray wanted to go!
LOVE the Tink birdbath......that is so cute!

And that "Never Land" area is really cool...thanks for sharing the pics!
This had me laughing because it's something Chris would do! He'll have me take random pictures and explain something he heard from the history channel or discovery channel. I usually nod, smile, and snap the picture.....just going along with whatever he's saying....
Glad you enjoyed the Rose and Crown......it's one of our favorites in the WS.....I think we've gone there the last 3 times we've been in WDW.
Can't wait for more!
you guys sound like me and ray. i swear i took like 20 pictures of toys in the japanese store when we went to epcot before narcoosee's earlier in the vacation. he hardly ever asks for anything so when he wants me to take a picture of something i can't argue with him!
Ok, well i "thought" that I would take R&C off my "list" for my ADRs but now I think we're gonna have to go. I love that they have an outdoor area. Did you have to request it or was that where they sat you? If I went, I'd want to sit out there!
we didn't request the outdoor seating but i'm sure you can. i think we just got lucky!
I would not be offended at all if you lurked on the Pre TR. I often do that as well. They are not as exciting, but it's good to know the background and plaing that go into the big trip
Neverland looked awsome!!!! I absolutely have to go for the flower festival one year. It looks breathtaking.
That Tink bath is great! It's amazing how so many people say that everything in the parks is so expensive, but in reality you can find a lot of stuff that is not nearly as expensive at it should be. Disney could charge a lot more for some of the things that they sell.
Your view at the Rose and Crown looked great. That is one of the places I didn't make PSR's for this time around, but really want to try (guess I"m just going ot have to go back...darn...lol)
My DF and I are not big drinkers, but while on vacation we tend to drink a whole lot (why not live it up?). I was just wondering since I have never really drank at Disney, how much the average drink is there.
there's so much that disney offers - it's easy to have an excuse to go back!!! that's why i love it so much. and yes, i was shocked at the price for the bird bath. i expected it to be at least $50, so i was happy! the average drink at disney usually runs a little bit more than in the real world, but they're not unbelievabily outrageous or anything. the most expensive drink i've had is the lapu lapu and it's $12. but it's worth every penny! the slushies in france are $8. i think the premium beers at WS are somewhere around $7. not sure how much the domestic beer is. and the margaritas are $8.50. hope that helps!
Dawn I love that Tink birdbath. Do they ship things home for you too? We're flying the next time down, I couldn't possibly put that on a plane with me. Sorry about the foul odor on the monorail. My DH can't smell either

he had a deviated septum and had it fixed and still can't smell. Does the Rose n' Crown have a kids menu, I would love to go get me some fish and chips there too. That bread looked really yummy too. Is the butterfly thing only at the Flower and Garden? That would be really cool to go in. I want to do a butterfly garden at my house any suggestions on which is best? I love the flower and garden though, only been there once (in 2001). I love all the toparies. Great update and glad you didn't have a heart attack because Ray wanted to go to Epcot again.
i'm not sure if they ship things or not, but i can't imagine that they wouldn't. just ask your CM when you check in at the hotel.
here is the rose and crown kids menu:

i think the butterfly garden is only offered during the flower and garden festival.

in my butterfly garden i have a butterfly bush, lavendar, rosemary, all kinds of lilies, verbana, purple coneflower and mary janes. i'm not sure about your climate but those all attract butterflies (and bees!).
SOOO Glad Ray discovered the true joy that is EPCOT !!!

Black & tan is my DH all time favorite too.
BTW - I think we must live close to each other since you're in GA too and it takes us about the same amount of driving time to get to WDW.
Lynn
yeah, he enjoyed himself that day. he hated epcot last year - we just had a bad vibe going and needed to get the heck outta there! but this year was MUCH better!
i live just west of athens, near I-85. i come to marietta every now and then for depositions. i was just there about a month ago and was looking forward to having lunch at the marietta diner, but our deposition went longer than i had thought and i couldn't go because i wanted to get on the interstate before traffic started!
okay.......you got me with that one. i have no idea what that means!
EPCOT is awesome. I am so glad Ray has the "bug". Did he really finish all of that flight? If so, how did you get him out of EPCOT?
he didn't finish every drop and left a little bit in a few of the beers, but he did an admirable job!
LOVE your birdie bath. I think I saw a picture of it in your butterfly garden somewhere earlier...? Very Cool!
yes, i think i posted it earlier in the background with pics of my lilies.
Really you guys are Soarin Fans? It is one of my favorite rides. I love the take off, the orange groves and the fireworks. I wouldn't stand in a 40 minute line for TT, unless promised to my ds and the only option is the stand by line (can you tell, I have had to do that one before?)
we're not bitter about standing in line for 40 minutes for TT, are we???
yeah, i know we're strange, we just didn't like soarin. we didn't dislike it......just didn't see what all the fuss was about.
Looking forward to what else you get Ray to intake in the other counties.
stay tuned!!!!!!
BTW...was your drink minty at all with the creme de menthe?
nope, it was more fruity. it was good! not the best drink i had on the trip, but pretty tasty!
