I'm new here, and want to say I've picked up some great ideas so far! I've made some of our meal plans, and am wanting any suggestions for what else we should try to fit in! We have been to Disney in past and places that are repeats I've marked with an * . We arrive on Fri. March 14 and leave Fri. March 21 and the group includes 7yo and 11yo boys.

So far our PS's are:

Fri: Chef Mickey's for dinner
Sun: Crystal Palace for lunch *
Mon: O'hana for dinner
Wed: Princess Storybook Breakfast at Akershus
Thurs: Restaurantosaurus for Breakfast *

We also will fit in ESPN Club somewhere in there and also Official All-Star Cafe (yes, we have some major sports fans who insist on eating at both places!). If the Fantasmic Dinner Package is still available, should we do it? What else should we not miss?

Thanks!

You will LOVE ohanas!! We went there for the first time in August and it is my new favorite restaurant!! I can't wait to get back there in March! Beware...you may walk in, but you'll waddle out! ;)

We also did Donald's breakfast and enjoyed it. The characters are dressed really cute. The food was good..typical breakfast buffet. Our PS was for 8:10 (the first one) so it was neat being in AK before it opened. Enjoy!

We did Fantasmic package in 2000 and thought that it was worth it. We plan on doing it again in March.

While you are at Epcot think about stopping by Beaches and Cream over at the Beach Club. The burgers are good and I imagine the boys would enjoy the ice cream sundae selections.

I would reccomend Liberty Tree Tavern (Liberty Square MK) for the the character dinner. This was probably our favorite meal last visit.

Also...my boys LOVE burgers and hot dogs from Peco's Bill in Adventureland and Aunt Polly's on Tom Sawyer island. They also would send you to Pizza Planet in MGM for a quick and yummy lunch (we did this one twice!)

You might want to try Boma at AKL. It takes a bit of an adventureous eater to try all the things (which we are), but there is plenty for a 'pickier' palate as well. I thought it was fabulous. Save room for dessert.

I too...bet you will love Ohana's. Good food...great atmosphere.

Well, just speaking food-wise, I can't say much good about the princess breakfast at Akershus except to say it wasn't totally awful. There were some sticky buns/danishes and fruit to start and the meal, which comes on a platter from which you help yourself, had scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage patties, mashed potatoes with cheese I think, and french toast sticks. The food was just okay, except for the sausage which just wasn't tasty and the french toast sticks which looked, felt, and tasted like something you would find in your grocer's freezer.

So not much variety to begin with and even less if there's something you don't like. IMHO a breakfast buffet is a much better choice.

The service was good, friendly and courteous. The princesses were nice and spent enough time with us. I get the impression that the princesses visit with the guests roughly in the order they are seated, which is nice because you are not sitting around waiting for them to get to you. They give you some time to eat a bit before they come in to see you.

Please do yourself a favor and go to Liberty Tree Tavern...the best restaurant experience at Disney in our family's opinion! (Lunch or dinner...we prefer dinner.)
Fantasmic is a wonderful experience....we like Mama Melrose...but have heard good things about Brown Derby also.
And...if you have time...please take your kids to Wilderness Lodge. Whispering Canyon is good...not great....but even if you don't eat there, it is an amazing experience. I will never forget the feeling I got....(or the looks on my kids faces)...the first time we walked into the lobby and saw the lodge. It takes your breath away!! (If you want, grab a soda or snack...take the elevator to one of the higher floors...sit at one of the couch/fireplace/coffee table areas that look over the lobby and enjoy!
Have fun...let us know how your trip went!

I am adding Beaches and Cream to our need to eat at list! The more I have read about this one, the more it sounds like a must-do! I don't think I have seen a negative remark! :-)

We have done Liberty Tree (for lunch) in past (every trip I think?!) and love it! I guess I will need to put it on my schedule again - what was I thinking by not including it?! ;-)

Whispering Canyon - okay, what's the general consensus on this? I see a lot of mixed feelings? Should we just make a trip to "visit" or should we use one of our meals for it as well?

Like the input about a quick burger/hot dog ideas! We try to do one big meal a day, and grab a quick bite for other times, so will check out the places you mentioned!

Will make PS for Fantasmic! Now, which restaurant??

Thanks!
