~Our March 'Just Engaged',freezing,and full of surprises trip~Updated 6/23 p.76

Day 4 continued: March 16, 2010

We left off leaving Mexico and starting our walk around WS. We still had some time to kill before our Le Cellier ADR, but not enough time to do much, so we decided to just walk through each country and check out things that we want to come back to.

The F&G Festival banners were cute:

We found the Snow White topiary!:

263-1.jpg

We just love the architecture in all the WS buildings:

264-1.jpg

It’s neat to me to look at SE from here. It’s crazy thinking we were all the way over there and now we’re here! Oh look..there’s the top of my head in the corner of the pic. HAHA:

265-1.jpg

There wasn’t much going on in the U.S. The time says 1:35 pm, so we still have about 20 minutes until we can check in!:

266-1.jpg

There’s just so many things you can miss in WS. I don’t think we’ve ever noticed those tables!:

267-1.jpg

Soon, we were arriving in Canada..Again with the architecture:

268-1.jpg

We wanted to actually check out Canada, so we went up these stairs to see what was back there:

269-1.jpg

We were seriously one of the only ones back there! It is a nice place to sit, relax, and spend some quiet time. We kept walking and soon we saw this:

270-1.jpg

We never knew this existed! And that just confirmed our plans to actually explore each country. When we are there in the summer, we always say we’re going to do that and then we end up not doing it because it’s so HOT. This time, we’ve decided we’re going to explore the countries closer to evening so the sun isn’t beating down on us.

Down below where we were standing:

271-1.jpg

We looked at the time and we could start heading down to Le Cellier!

272-1.jpg

We walked right by the Bambi topiary. I had no idea that Bambi had one! It was a cute surprise.:

273-1.jpg

And that’s when we arrived at our destination.:

274-1.jpg

I was so excited to take Fiancé there to eat. I knew that this was one place he was going to LOVE.

As soon as you walk under the gates, you start winding through a path to get to the actual restaurant.:

275-1.jpg

The flowers here were beautiful as well! It is so nice to see Disney pays attention to every single detail.:

276-1.jpg

We checked in and sat down on a bench right inside the door. It was really busy, so we were hoping we wouldn’t have to wait long. I kept telling Fiancé how neat the theming is inside. We didn’t have to wait too long. We were seated at a nice little table for two. I do have to say though, they do put the tables too close together. We could hear the whole conversation between the two guys at the table next to us. They were talking so loud that it was hard not to!

Our waitress came and she was so excited about our engagement. She kept congratulating us every time she came to the table. It was so cute. We ordered our food and it actually came out quick! We both had the filet mignon, which comes with mushroom risotto. It is to die for! Fiancé said it was the best meal he’s ever had at WDW. Le Cellier is now his favorite restaurant! Ha. For dessert, I had the chocolate mousse and Fiancé had the s’mores. When our plates came, we saw that our waitress gave us a little surprise! Our plates were decorated for our celebration!:

277-1.jpg

I think it’s hilarious that the chocolate mousse is actually a chocolate moose! Both desserts were good as well. Overall, Le Cellier was a great meal and we will definitely be going back.

We headed back out through the path and saw this little guy swimming around:

278-1.jpg

We watched him for a few minutes, then went on our way. It was time to use our TT FP’s! We were so excited about riding this one. Okay, I think Fiancé was more excited about looking around at the cars afterwards! HA. We got in the FP line, which was actually kind-of long! We finally made it into the movie room, which we were in for about 2 seconds! The movie started then shut off and the doors opened towards the loading area. Fiancé and I looked at each other like “What the heck is going on?!” But, oh well! We’ve seen the movie so many times that we were happy to skip it!

We got assigned our row and stood to wait for our car. There’s 3 seats in a row, so there was also a single rider with us. Fiancé started talking to him and it was his first time riding. And Kristen- this is when I thought of you. He’s from New York! He had that whole Guido vibe about him though. Two things came to my mind: Jersey Shore and the Tool Academy. HA. When we got off the ride, his dad was waiting for him by the photo area. His dad was exactly like him! It was funny.

And here is where I lost Fiancé…he started up a conversation with one of the CM’s in the car showroom. I can’t tell you how long they talked. But here he is admiring a car:

279.jpg

I swear, he’s like a little kid in a candy store in here! When he was all done looking, we looked around the gift shop. We have found him some cool hats and shirts here in the past, but nothing caught our eye this time.

**Continued in next post**

**Continued from previous**

Now, it was time for us to start our adventure back around WS. Since we had started in Mexico earlier, we decided to start in Canada. As you can see, the crowds were starting to increase:

280.jpg

Aw, Farmer Mickey and Minnie. They were so cute!:

281.jpg

And then, we turned right and walked into Canada. They were setting up some stuff for Illuminations. Look at the fence- see I told you Disney pays attention to the details!:

282.jpg

France looked so beautiful!:

283.jpg

We were standing on the bridge taking this picture when an older couple asked if I would take their picture. In return, they took ours as well. It turned out great!:

284.jpg

We were almost into France when we saw these topiaries. I was SO excited:

286.jpg

287.jpg

We had never noticed this before! It was so neat.:

288.jpg

We kept walking and finally saw the stand with the grey goose slushies! Of course, we had to get one. I found us a table nearby while Fiancé got our drink. Oh my gosh, seriously- everyone must try this! It was SO good. I sent Kristen and Mom a pic of our yummy drink.

Glass full:

289.jpg

Glass empty, which didn’t take long. :rotfl: :

290.jpg

I cannot wait to go back there and get another one in July! We sat at our table awhile and just talked, enjoyed the scenery, and just enjoyed the moment. Soon, we were on our way and explored more of France. There was so much that we didn’t know existed!

~Up next:

More of our WS journey- what will we drink next?!

I'm on-board :) Got caught up reading your TR! Awesome job so far!

Thanks:goodvibes

Great ! Thank you .

Thats perfect because I was just going to get a new digital camera--I had an old' Kodak Easyshare w/ 8.0 megapixlels.. totally time for an upgrade and I'm a photographer! I have other nice cameras but my Kodak did great for awhile until recently where I just noticed how horrible the pics were coming out!

Again thanks I will be most likely purchasing this, this week!

The Grey Goose slush is one of our favorite drinks in WDW. I've been meaning to try the Grand Marnier one, but I always keep getting grey goose- when I have a favorite I keep getting it again and again!

The farmer Mickey & Minnie & fleur dis lis topiaries are adorable!!! I see they moved the prince & princess ones to WS this year- last year they were along the entrance to Epcot.

I agree...isn't it great allowing yourself time to explore the WS and discovering places you didn't know were there before? :goodvibes We find ourselves spending more and more time at the WS each trip.

The Grey Goose one is so good! I have to get it again!

I thought I remembered seeing pics of the Prince/Princess topiaries towards the entrance of Epcot last year!

It was so great taking our time around WS. Mom, Dad, and Sis can't wait to finally explore with us in July!

Oh my gosh, girl, I totally know what you mean. Walking around World Showcase in the afternoon last July was awful. It was sooooooo hot. This guy :sunny: was brutal. I think we made it from Mexico to Germany, but after standing in line to meet Snow White, we gave up and took the boat across the lagoon so that we could head back and relax at the hotel.

We ended up doing an Evening EMH at Epcot and that proved to be a great time to tour the countries. Morocco and France look especially gorgeous at night. None of the shows and character greetings that happen during the day were occurring, but for someone who likes to take in the architecture and landscaping, it proved to be a great opportuity. :thumbsup2

Oh, and I love your pictures from Le Cellier. We have a lunch reservation there in July. It'll be my first time and I am ridiculously excited. I can't wait for the Chocolate Moose!

Yeah, the sun is brutal! You're right! :headache:

Oh my gosh, I hope you like Le Cellier! You are going to get the chocolate moose?! Yay!

Isn't the Canada pavillion beautiful! We took pics by the waterfall last June. We had no idea it was back there either! In Sept, I really want to take some time in each country. I feel like we really explore Mexico, Norway and Germany and then we get too hot!!! In June we spent a lot of time in Canada, we now we need to take the time to see the rest of the countries. Madison likes to do the Kim Possible missions, but they take you all over the place. She's already done Mexico, China, Japan and Germany and she wants to do the rest of them in Sept. Thank goodness I have a lot of time planned at Epcot!!!

That steak at Le Cellier is SO good! Tony and I both had it in June. We also got the s'mores and the chocolate mousse!!! They are both fantastic.

I sure am! I've wanted that darn moose ever since I first saw a picture of it a few years ago. We've always had trouble getting an ADR at Le Cellier though since we typically book our trips kind of late. But this year, even before our room reservations were final, I jumped online and made a lunch ressie. I am not missing out on the fabulousness that everyone says Le Cellier is any longer. :woohoo:

Glad DF enjoyed Le Cellier. I haven't been there, myself, but it sounds AWESOME. I so want to try it!

Love the pic of the two of you together. You look so happy!

I really need to devote time to WS, but with a little one, I can't see the appeal for him just yet. I'm waiting until he's older and can appreciate what he's seeing a bit more. Somehow I don't think it would be so relaxing and fun if he started whining. Actually, there's a name for a future TR "Whining and Dining."

I love the World Showcase. When I went in December, I actually took a great amount of time and expored every country, especially the shops! It was such a relaxing day and it was so nice to look at aspects of Epcot you never seem tho think of.

As far as the Grey Goose slushie goes--I can't wait to get one in June! That is one of the top things I'm looking forward to for Epcot.

Yay I am finally all caught up. Loved your updates!!

The pics of F&G festival are awesome, everything looks so pretty!

We tried Sum of all Thrills in Jan, my bro and I loved it but if you are claustrophobic I can def see why you would pass. And it is NOT worth a 60 minute wait because it's super short.

I agree that the tables at Le Cellier are WAY too close together! We were seated right next to an older couple who pretty much stared at us and eavesdropped on our conversation the entire meal which def took away from the experience. But the food is so worth it!

Yum love the Grey Goose slushies. Excited to hear what your next drink choice is ;) Exploring WS is so much fun and so relaxing!

YUM! Those drinks look amazing! I have always wanted to try one :lovestruc

Here is a link to the picture of the D&B Cruise bags!

You have to try one!

Wow, those are neat bags if you were a Disney Cruise fan!

Thanks girl! It was such a pretty day!

Yeah, I'm passing on the Sum of all Thrills. ;)

Okay, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the tables are too close together!

Oh boy, the only thing I'm NOT looking forward to about July is the heat...especially in the open area that WS is! We're going to have to walk slowly, drink a lot (not that alcohol helps lol) and go in lots of stores...sucks for our significant others who aren't into shopping :rotfl:

Yummmmmm Grey Goose slush!!!

I always wanted to try Le Cellier but I don't eat red meat and it seems that's mostly what's there. Everyone raves about it though and I'm glad you two enjoyed it so much! :thumbsup2

We will do WS towards night! Yes...it's going to be a loopy WS. They are just going to have to suck it up while we shop. Maybe they'll go do something else.

YES Grey Goose slushie!! Oh good memories from sending you that pic. Isn't it weird what little things I remember?!

All this time and I never knew you don't eat red meat!

I think the garden area in Canada is one of the prettiest places in all of Epcot. I'm glad you got to explore a little and plan to do more this summer.

The one and only time we have been to LeCellier, I was not a bit hungry, so I have to go back sometime on an empty stomach to give it a fair shot.

Lots of good pictures. I'd love to be strolling around WS tonight.

Wonderful day in World Showcase! I love taking time to stop and appreciate all the little details. Lunch at Le Cellier sounded great. I love the topiaries. Thanks for sharing those pics! It's so amazing that they do all that just for a few weeks of the year.
