~Our March 'Just Engaged',freezing,and full of surprises trip~Updated 6/23 p.76

I really can't believe you were doing anything wrong by checking out the inside of the BLT. Since your family does own DVC you should have been given a tour.:)

Did you know that they have the BLT rooms on display at the Woodfield Mall in suburban Chicago? It was sure fun to see them there. I think you live in the Midwest, so check it out if you head down that way. IKEA is right across the street from the Mall, you and your sister; and probably Fiance too, would love to look around that store. BTW, the BLT rooms are on the second floor of the Mall right next to Nordstroms.

loving your TR, so fun to read.

Okay...I got through the 70 pages (I will admit, I skimmed through some of the chit chat ;)). First, congratulations to you and your fiance. :) Second, your trip so far sounds great. We used to drive from Chicago to Disney all the time and then we started flying. Unfortunately, I hate flying, but it is quicker. I think next year we may just take three weeks and drive down (if gas prices aren't $5.00 a gallon by then).

Looking forward to following the rest of your trip report.

Just got caught up on everything :) :) I just have one thing to say....are you stalking me? :lmao: We were there almost the same dates last year (June-early July,) and we'll be there at the same time again this July :cool1:

What are your dates in July again? We'll be staying at BLT, so if you want, we could arrange to meet & let you guys in to explore... ;)

Too bad about that stuck-up CM...I wonder what would have happened if you said "yes, we are DVC members?" Haha. But love that you guys were able to sneak in regardless! That is totally something my friends and I would do ;)

I've been wanting to eat at the Wave for so long now, it looks delicious! The desserts especially sound yummy!

I know! Later that night when we were talking about it, I was like "You know, we should've said we were DVC members." Because we really are, we just weren't staying there!

I really hope you get to try The Wave. It was SO good!

I wish we would've said that we were DVC members, just not staying there. :headache:

They do? That would be fun to look around! Thanks for the info.

I'm glad you're liking it. And I hope you'll be around for the July TR!

Haha, that's okay if you skimmed! Thanks so much. It really was a great trip. We had a lot of great experiences and memories.

While it does take a little longer, driving down is what we really like. The drive is part of the journey!

 That is hilarious! Where did you stay last year? And where are you staying this year?

We're there July 19-31. We're staying at the Contemporary the 19-24, then moving over to OKW for the rest of the trip. :)

Great update! I think it is ridiculous that you can't walk into BLT lobby unless you are staying there. You can go in any other resort to see the amazing theming but not that one. It is just ridiculous!

We stayed at Boardwalk last year and we'll be at AKL this year :goodvibes We stayed at Contemporary for our wedding/honeymoon trip and also for our 1 year anniversary trip :thumbsup2 Will you be in the garden wing or the tower?

Thanks Jill.

I can't believe it! How is anyone supposed to enjoy it besides the people staying there?!

Oooh AKL! That's awesome! I wonder if I ended up in any of your pics from last year?!

We're going to be in the garden wing because I hate elevators.

Okay...I just read your TR from start to finish and I LOVED it. I really needed something great to read today and I found it. I can't wait to hear about the rest of the day and hear about y'alls trip next month.:goodvibes

oh, that's a fun update! I love exploring the other resorts when I am there.

I love the pic of you and FI in the mickey ears, even though it wasn't your traditional pic. Maybe this can be the start of some new traditions for you? ;)

I'm glad you enjoyed the Wave. I have to say we tried it in August and that was probably the meal we were most excited to eat at and we were actually a bit disappointed. We didn't know if it had to do with free dining, or that the place was packed or that we seemed to have a new waiter.....either way, it didn't live up to our expectations. It gets such good reviews, we may have to give it another shot. Especially since your appetizer sounds delish!

We love exploring Resorts too. Even if we've already been there 100 times.

We definitely did start some new traditions just the two of us. :)

Aw man, I'm so sorry that you didn't have such a good experience at The Wave. Maybe you were just there on an off night. :confused3

I know what you mean about taking an "iconic" picture without your sis...it just feels funny. It's kind of like you're missing your other half. Even if there's somebody there to step in and take her place. For me and my sis, our "spot" is in front of the giant Mickey-shaped pumpkins in Toontown. We have pics of us there from just about every trip we've ever taken. We'll have to find a new spot soon though when they tear Toontown down. :sad1:

The Wave sounds really yummy! I'll definitely have to try it sometime.

And the views from BLT are awesome. I love that you guys "broke in" to explore a little bit. Sounds like something my family would do.

Wow the Bay Lake Towers look sooo nice. I'd never really thought about eating at the Wave before, but your dinner there sounds sooo good it's now one I want to try sometime. I love the pic of you guys in the Mickey ears...too cute! Great update!

Oh, I forgot to comment on all the Full House references. My sisters and I were ADDICTED to that show growing up. We have literally ingrained quotes from that show into our everyday lives, even today as 32, 30, and 27 year olds :) Our favorite (that people just look at us like :confused3).....when we're trying to be sneaky and someone walks up we say 'The Duck Flies at Midnight!' Do you remember that episode? :rotfl::rotfl:

Excellent update. I love the view from the BLT walkway. Your pictures are amazing. I stayed at the Contemp. in 1990 and we have the same picure!

Great update!! I love the pic of you and DF in the Mickey Ears! I'm glad you were rebels so we could experience the great view from BLT with your pics, they are awesome! Last night of the trip, so sad!

Loooooooooooooooove your update, Tink!!

LOVE that ya'll broke into BLT!!! HAHA!

Honestly, that's something I'd do.... and my DH would be like, "no!" hahaha and then I give him that look and then... que batman music!... I'm off! haha I get us into soo much trouble sometimes!

I appreciate all the pics you took :cloud9: How beautiful!!! Maybe we'll have to check that out when we get there! We're thinking of making a day trip in July so we'll see. ;)

The Wave sounded amazing!! You made me hungry for some crazy mango stuff now.. LOL ;)

It really was weird not having Sis there! I know what spot you're talking about. I'm sure you're sad to see it go!

The Wave is SO good! Please try it!

 Yeah, we were rebels. The walkway is amazing.

The walkway is SO neat!

The Wave is really good. They have different menus for lunch and dinner. Since we ate there for lunch this trip, we're eating there for dinner next month.

"breaking in" to BLT!! Priceless. I would probably have did the same thing.

The view from the walkway is amazing!

Aw, I love your Mickey Ears pic! Thanks for sharing!!

Great update!! I love the pic of you and DF in the Mickey Ears! I'm glad you were rebels so we could experience the great view from BLT with your pics, they are awesome! Last night of the trip, so sad!

Thanks! Haha, glad we got good pics!

Thanks girl! :)

Haha, yesss..we were rebels. Seriously, we weren't doing anything but taking pics on the walkway really. I recommend it!

A day trip?! Go sometime during July 19-31! :flower3:

The Wave is SO good! You have to try it.

I had to laugh at your "smelly cat" reference. Friends is still one of my favorite shows of all times. They show re-runs every day and I still record them on my TIVO. I miss that show. :sad1:

I'm glad you got to get inside BLT, even if it was just for a minute. The pictures that I have seen online make it look so great. There are pictures on Jordan's TR of the rooms. I hope that you get to stay there someday.
