Sorry it's taken me so long to post...we've been really busy with summertime activities!
On with the show!
Today was our AK day. It was also the day that we all dressed alike. To get an idea of everyone's mood that morning, check this out:
We all headed to the food court for breakfast and all 10 of us actually ate together. Here's Sam enjoying a beinget:
Billy and I decided the day before that our monster stroller and two monster kids were too much trouble on the buses...so we were going to drive to AK and everyone else was taking the bus. So, off we went, trying to make rope drop.
I love this picture of me and my baby!
I had never done rope drop at the AK, so I was excited and hoped that the kids would enjoy the characters arriving. No one told me that all of this would happen in the blazing sun, no shade, with half a million people all clogged up at the oasis! Never again. My plan was to let everyone else ride the safari, while I ran to get fastpasses for Everest. As soon as they opened the park, I grabbed everyone's tickets and ran for it. After I got the fastpasses, I just hopped on Everest. This was so exciting for me, not just because I hadn't ridden it before, but because I was alone! I am never alone! I always have a baby or a husband or a sister around me. I really loved the ride and I was really exhilarated after riding it. I walked through a practically empty park to the safari to meet the rest of my group. On the way, I picked up a frozen lemonade which was so good. I waited on a bench by where my group would walk out of the safari and talked to a CM named Bill for a while. Finally everyone came out and they all wanted to head over to Everest, which was fine with me. But, of course, Gemma wanted to eat. It was really starting to get hot and Will was very flushed so I decided to take them both to the baby center for a break. The baby center was really nice. I fed Gemma and then we watched some cartoons for a while. At this point the family still wasn't done with Everest. I'm feeling kind of sad at this point, because I was stuck with two babies and nothing to do but wait. And when people say the AK is hotter than the other parks, they truly are not kidding. The heat seemed unbearable on this day. I then got a brilliant idea. The next stop for all of us was FOTLK, so I decided to head down there and let Will meet Goofy, his hero.
I left a message with Billy, telling everyone where to go and we went to Camp Minnie Mickey. The line for Goofy was short, and Will could not believe his eyes when he saw him. I started to cry...thank goodness for photopass!
At this point, Billy showed up and we went to go see Mickey. Again, I lost it and got some tears. Isn't this why we take our kids to Disney? I feel a little teary just thinking about it!
Then we headed to FOTLK and got great seats. The show was wonderful, as usual. See how much Gemma enjoyed it?
Then my little family decided to go back to the hotel for lunch and a nap. Here's a pic of Will on the way out:
With both kids asleep Billy and I posed for some pictures:
Up next: more AK and my mini-meltdown
