We pulled into POFQ and I jumped out of the van to check in. There was a bit of a line, but I was so excited that I didn't care. Suddenly, as I am standing in line, my in-laws walk into the room! (Or roll, in DFIL's case). We hug and they tell me that we have a really good room location and that our rooms are connected. So, even before I checked in I knew I would be happy with where they put us. They headed out to see the kids. When it was finally my turn, the CM checking me in was so nice. She gave me lots of Magical Gathering buttons and a 1st visit button for Gemma. We got room 3106. I found out that my sisters room was a few rooms down from ours.
We pulled the van around and started to unload. It really was a great location, close to the main building and a parking lot. One of the reasons I love POFQ is because it's so small and compact.
This is a picture of Will and Gemma on Mimi and Papa's bed. They had a handicapped room with a roll-in shower that was very nice. This is their king sized bed.
While Billy unpacked and I fed Gemma, Mimi took Will for a walk around the grounds. Here are some pics she took:
This is Will by my favorite fountain @ POFQ.
A few minutes into unpacking, my sister called and they had arrived. I put Gemma into the stroller and went to the front desk, where my sister was checking in. We were so excited! It's kind of strange to meet up with your family in a completely different location than what you are used to. We went outside and went to the van to say hi to the kids. They kept asking, "Are we at Disney World? Are we going to sleep at Disney World?". After the reunion, I showed them where to park (they were in room 3101 which was right next to the parking lot-awesome). They dropped off their stuff and we all hopped on the boat to Downtown Disney to get some dinner at the Earl of Sandwich and to shop.
I have talked about our meal in my dining report, but I will say that it was a great meal and everyone was happy.
This is not such a great pic of my sister (sorry!) but it shows how big and chaotic our table was.
After dinner we headed out to shop. Early on we found the Pooh bench:
At this point Gemma was absolutely squalling and mad. It was very hot and she wanted to eat right then. I asked a CM if there was a baby station or a nursing station nearby and she pointed me towards a bathroom by the Art of
Disney store. I thought, great, I didn't know there was a nursing station there! Well, guess what, there isn't. There's a bathroom, and I'm not about to sit on a toilet seat and feed my baby. I am very modest, and very endowed (to put it a nice way), and I don't like nursing in public. Well, you do what you have to do. I hid in kind of a private corner outside of the Christmas store behind my big husband, and I got the job done. Let me add that I have a nursing cover that my sister bought me, called a hooter hider. When I use this you can't see a thing and it's very modest. Of course the hooter hider was in my sister's stroller, and she was in the giant Disney store.
After the first of many nursing debacles of the week, we headed to Goofy's Candy Co so Sam could make a treat. We all got cookies and cupcakes and rice crispy treats, and Sam created some marshmallows. Here's a pic:
He had so much fun doing this.
After all of this, we got back on the boat and headed home to POFQ. We were all exhausted and needed to rest before our big first day.
Up next: Epcot and the princess breakfast.
