I am so glad you posted this. It was a fear of mine as well. :hug:

Anyway, I guess my dilemma was for naught. DS looked at me like I had two heads when I told him he could stay home. He said he didn't want to worry all summer that she would be mad at him on the first day of 3rd grade about today. Plus he wants to say goodbye to his teacher and make summer plans with his friends. :goodvibes

Ice cream sundaes after school it is! :thumbsup2

Whew! I hit post and thought, oh please don't be mad at me!!!

I think your son is one smart cookie. I agree with his choice - why risk her being mad when he has several years left! Ice cream sundaes sound like the perfect treat after school!

Sue - I was so interested in who you met from the cruise that I forgot to say good luck with your knee surgery! So good luck! Post an update when you can!

Heather - my kids have been out for almost 2 weeks! :crazy2: But actually, its nice to have the freedom summer brings!

On that note - I told you guys a couple weeks ago that dd graduated from 8th grade. Well, last week she auditioned for the high school dance team and she made it! :dance3: Super excited at my house! (Except for the teeny fact of reduced summer freedom :rolleyes1)

I can't believe how early some kids get out of school!!! DD9 doesn't get out until 6/21 and DD6 until 6/28!!!! :eek:

Congrats to your DD BTW, that is awesome!!!

Good morning! Tomorrow is the last day of school but I gave the kids the choice of going or not since the parties were yesterday and they are not doing any more work. Steven's teacher's last day was yesterday so we had decided that yesterday was his last day as well and Sarah chose to stay home today and to go tomorrow to say good bye to her friends. They both slept in and I got some quiet time to myself and even got to shower without wondering if they were killing each other :p

So now to try to catch up......

Lacey - congrats to DD! I saw the pics on FB and she looks super excited :cheer2:

i_heart - sorry you had to go through that with DS, I agree I think the punishments should have at the very least been equal all around. Glad he made the decision for you. Ice cream after school sounds perfect :thumbsup2

Wookie - I am so sorry to hear about your loss even if it was so long ago :hug: As for men, they truly are from another planet when it comes to the emotional stuff :sad2: Today is a new day and I hope it brings you some peace and happiness!

Sue M - good luck with your surgery! My knee (that had surgery 20+ years ago) started to ache as I typed that :lmao: We will be here to help get you through your recovery :hug:

Heather - have a great time in Cancun :beach: Congrats on being so close to done with grad school, I know it is tough, but you will feel so good once it is done :thumbsup2

Shelia - sorry Bob seems to be having some issues, it has to be tough all around :hug:

Ginny - I think BWI sounds perfect! Keeping my fingers crossed for the military salute for you :flower3:

Jen - LOVE that you and DH are going to Boston alone :woohoo: So much to do and see! And BC CL in Nov.....PERFECT!

KOOK - as I said on the CR board, I am so VERY HAPPY for you!!!! And also very jealous, I really want to be back at CR :goodvibes

Miss - I will wish you another safe travels here :goodvibes

Koh - did you decide to leave AKL as is :confused3

Dani - I hope you are having a great time! If I get some more free time today I will start posting your pics here so everyone can see the Poly rooms :goodvibes Oh and YAY on booking the BB :cheer2:

Candace - your Donnie story was hysterical :rotfl2:

MAGIC - yep I followed ;) I think moving your July dates to MNSSHP is a good plan :thumbsup2 I'll be in touch for the beginning of July :goodvibes

Linda - hope you get the wedding date soon so you can get back to planning!

Janet - hoping all is well up there and the morale in the office isn't a total downer. When is Sam done with school?

Jeanette - any more news from you? Thinking of you :hug:

I am sure I am missing people, so a BIG :wave2: to EVERYONE I missed!

:grouphug:
Melissa

Wookie: I agree that sometimes men seem so insensitive, but they don't think the way we do. Hugs!

SueM: hoping your surgery goes well. And get well soon!

Miss: safe travels!
Thank you!

Good Morning All! :wave2:

Let's see...it's been like FOREVER since I was here... (can I come back? :teeth:) Hope everyone is doing well and getting ready for their summer vacations. Life has been crazy crazy (but good) with school getting out, kids' activities, and grad school. :upsidedow Since DH was out of town last night, I spent several hours on the Dis trying to catch up on TRs and different threads....soooooooo behind! Where does time go??!! Going back now to see what I've missed on this thread ;)

:goodvibes Heather
:wave2: good morning Heather! Good to hear from you again!!

Sue - was it the podcast team?? I think they were just in Alaska based on the FB posts. I am way you behind on listening to the shows!
No! I didn't know the Podcast team was in town, that would have been fun! It was someone from the YC/BC thread I met up with.

Good luck with your surgery today, Sue! And here's to a speedy recovery! :-)

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards
Thanks!

Melissa - still debating on the whole AKL vs CBR thing...we'd save about $350 if we moved...and I do really like the pool and kid water play area at CBR...and I happened to show You Tube videos of the 2 pools and kid areas to my daughter...and she kept saying more pirate pool and was NOT happy with the Kidani water play area... I'm actually waiting to hear from Miss about her trip, since she'll be at CBR today and then AKL later this weekend and into next week! Then I may broach the subject with DH, but if I want to change again, I better have done my research as in savings, etc.!! :-) I was actually even looking at the possibility of flying instead...but we can't fly out of here without a stop somewhere. Last year we flew out of O'Hare and stayed at the airport hotel the night before and the night we returned before driving home again. So we still had hotel costs AND parking which was ridiculous, so...this time we're renting an SUV and driving...DD wasn't great on the plane last year, but she's also never been on a long road trip before... :-/ wondering also if it'd be better to drive straight through (at night) instead...we're staying offsite 2 nights and doing Sea World first, so we'd need a way to get to the hotel and then to WDW if we did fly...

Lots to think about!

Good Morning everyone!!!

Sue - best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Wookie - it's a new day!! hope you're feeling better today! Maybe explain how you feel to your DH?

Babyberger, basketlacey, I-heart, Wookie, and anyone I may have missed, thanks for the good wishes.

Wookie, I'm sorry your husband keeps throwing that in your face. Clearly he hasn't dealt with the loss yet, maybe he needs counselling?
I have had a tubal pregnancy too years ago.

Miss I guess you're on your way to WDW today? :banana::banana::banana:

Kook thanks for the AP info. Now guess I'll have to check renewal rate vs renewing when I get there and applying my 1 day ticket to renewal that i saved from the January promo with dining, and had to add the 1 day ticket for the package. Our AP expires around our 3rd day of August trip.

TGIF!!! Well I don't think I will ever be able to go back and catch up! Know that I've been peeking in and reading the past few days. Sending out big hugs to all our our wonderful RC moms :hug:

Wookie, sorry you have had so much stress from the lack of help. It's almost over!

Kook, :yay for 14,000!! Wow!!

MM, have a fabulous time with your girlfriends!!

Pas, congrats I the GF RC! Now when will you tell DH? Or can you pull off it must be a magical upgrade hon? : laughing:

Magic, sorry that you were sick on your AKL trip :hug: hopefully your July trip will be much better!

Sheila, after the scare, hope DH seriously takes better care of himself. :hug: btw it's going to be in the low 90s today!

Love to all my RC Peeps! It's been a stressful few days at work due to layoffs - no one saw it coming. I was not effected but my 4 friends in the legal dept. were :( so sad ...changes are still coming in the Company. We've been told they are re-doing the admin role. due to the layoffs I will be picking up 2 more attorneys. How nice the company laid off mostly support personnel. How bout the high dollar executives? perhaps cutting their bonuses would of made it unnecessary to layoff so many.

On a happy note ...Got a text from Dani - she's landed!!! :woohoo: making her way to ME!!
Yeah, they never touch the high ups do they? Our school district is getting major cutbacks right now. Due to school board gross mismanagement of money. But do you think any of them are getting cut :confused3 so far my department isn't on the chopping block. For a change!

Posting quickly from my phone. Yay SIS is in Disney!!! Kook 14,000 posts! WOW!

Welcome to Cotillard! Glad you've joined our happy family!

OK Candace...Donnie...OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lucky gal.

So layoffs may be in the Pas future as well. I have 1 job to fall back on. But my hours are being drastically cut...so guess what...summer vacation may just be a beach trip. I am so upset, I was just told last night.

Bye bye ticker...I may be absent for awhile my friends...I am pretty peeved

:eek::hug:

Babyberger Sarasota sounds nice! We love the gulf coast. My mom had a condo in N. Miami Beach just east of Biscayne, then moved North to Coconut Creek. I miss the condo. We had to sell it last year. My mom has been in assisted living or 5 years, in Coral Springs.
But this August when we come to visit mom (Pre WDW) we booked a hotel on Deerfield Beach. Our fav Atlantic beach.
Sometimes we go to St Pete Beach for a couple of days Pre WDW, and the gulf coast is a nice change. A lot of Old Florida there.

Hi Peeps!! :wave2:

My friends I have not forgotten you! .... Thank you to everyone for you supprt on my job situation.... It is what it is& I have a job, while others don't. Yesterday was the pits, but today is a new day and promises to be better. I have hope!! :goodvibes

Our weekend in Rochester was a blur... but we got alot accomplished. Plus, last night I found out I don't have to return this weekend, my sister was able to enlist other help for the yard sale! YEAH!!

Just wanted to pass along that today will surely be a better day.. it is my sweet Sams birthday...15!! Wow. :banana: :banana: Her hair is wet, just was like, "hurry up Mom I gotta get to school!" kids ....:)

gwynne and KOOK: Del Boca Vista... :happytv: ...precisely the reason I moved to Florida! I'm still searching for Frank Costanza so he can yell those three precious words at me!! :rotfl2:

KOOK and i_heart: Yup, we overlap. :thumbsup2

:rotfl2: Seinfeld ALWAYS cheers me up!! :thumbsup2

Will try to respond to posts today!

Happy Birthday to Sam!!! :bday:party:

What a sweetie!!!!

Missoutnabout: Woohoo for your DD surprise, and speedy & safe travels to you!!!!

sjs314: So it turns out the Del Boca Vista name is actually owned by some enterprising soul residing in Woodland Country Club in Boca Raton. Maybe babyberger knows where that is????? :hyper: Hmmmmmmm... it quite possibly could be Newwwwman's retirement address!!!!!

babyberger: Just when you thought you understood my plans... my DB called last night and is coming to visit us late July as always. He has been very anti-WDW lately due to his finances, so I don't bring it up. BUT last night he couldn't ask enough questions about WDW and about flights into Orlando and then flying home from Tampa etc etc. So looks like two end of July visits may be in order after all for me. Then I can just make another new ressie for MNSSHP. :rolleyes1

i_heart: Glad DS worked it all out in his way... he's growing up good. ::yes::

Wookie: He's on your side even when it seems he's on another planet. :headache:

Sue M: Best wishes for good a outcome from your knee surgery.

gwynne: Did you say BWI??? :lovestruc

Disneydreamin247: What dates will your Poly BB ticker say??? :thumbsup2

pas130: A little Orange Bird told me your DH doesn't like the FWC decor? So what does this mean is pas-language?

Raining here...which is actually nice. The lawn needs it! And it's a perfect day to catch up on the Dis:thumbsup2 and work on some Statistics :eek: Kids are watching Brave - love that movie! The music is awesome :lovestruc

I can't believe how early some kids get out of school!!! DD9 doesn't get out until 6/21 and DD6 until 6/28!!!! :eek:

My sister's kids are the same....end of June - she's in CT. At least you don't go back until September :thumbsup2 I'll be back in full swing around the first of August.

Congrats to your DD!!!!!! Awesome!!! I get the "reduced summer freedom"....cheer does that to us, but if they love it, what do ya do?!

When do y'all go back to school?

- still debating on the whole AKL vs CBR thing...
Lots to think about!

Good luck with decisions! That can be a stressor for sure. JMO.... AKL :teeth: such an awesome resort with tons to do. That being said, I have no idea about CBR because we've never been there. It's probably equally as nice :confused3 So that was no help, huh?! :laughing:

Hi Peeps!! :wave2:

Just wanted to pass along that today will surely be a better day.. it is my sweet Sams birthday...15!! Wow. :banana: :banana: Her hair is wet, just was like, "hurry up Mom I gotta get to school!" kids ....:)

Good to "see" you again!
:bday: :cake: to your DD!!!!

Sue....how's the knee?

Sue, good luck on the surgery! More time for DISing while you recover. And the job stuff& realignment of Admins& right now I feel like Big Brother is watching over us all&what fun&. DISNEY TAKE ME AWAY!!!

Miss & Dani, safe travels to you both!! :woohoo:

IHeart, I feel for you on your DS situation&.actually something kind of similar happened to my DS in 6th grade. There was an incident that he was not part of -- just indirectly in a third party way. My DS was questioned as well and got the same punishment as the perpetrator. I did not agree with it but explained to my DS that sometimes life isnt fair. Edited to add& you DS already has shown his maturity on this issue! Congrats to your DS!

Wookie, Men just do not get it. :hug:&I too lost a baby at 14 weeks, and was devastated&and did allow myself to grieve& everyone is different&(btw still have my last ultrasound)&. But as you mentioned, I probably wouldnt have my dear sweet Sam and I simply cannot imagine that. :hug:

Kook, you know Im so happy that you are able to fit in Disney!! :woohoo: I am not giving up hope on a summer trip -- Yet.

Koh, hmm&.. AKL or CBR?? We loved our stay at Kidani& but that CBR pool and pirate room is so cool&.if you do switch, you can always have AKL on your bucket list for another trip& DS may not be into the pirate thing in another year or two& and put that $350 savings into your next trip fund. :goodvibes

MM & Jen, oh so hope you guys can meet up at the ball game!! Sweet!!

MM, your weekend sounded left a blast!! love the comment by Donnie...:rotfl2:

Sheila, sorry about Bobs getting upset at the lab& hopefully it is not something worse than we can all (especially men.. can get so unreasonable & heck we all have those days!! :hug:

Melissa, have fun at the school parties& I know you always have so much on your plate& big :hug: btw is DVC still a possibility?? Im skimming so forgive me!

Ginny, Sorry about the furlough news.. :hug: Do love the RCs you made... guess I need to get crackin' on the RC list!!

Pas, with all the sh*t in my office laterly, SO need that girl time with you!! Let me know when!! :goodvibes

GG, LOVE the DIVA meet and greet theme! Somehow A Christmas Story comes to mind! :laughing:

Good to "see" you again!

Just stopping by to say hi :wave2: way behind, it's been busy here. And tomorrow I go in for knee surgery. Doing a repair. While I'm recovering at home I'll have lots of time to get caught up!! :goodvibes

Yesterday I had a Dis meet with a couple that I know on the BC/YC threads. They were on the Disney Alaska cruise!! It was a fun meet. I met them in town by the cruise port. Even got to see the Wonder!!

Good luck on your knee surgery. :hug:

Good Morning All! :wave2:

Nice to have you back. Life can be crazy especially with active kids but it's also so much fun!

At least the weekend is almost here .... maybe you can slow down for a day or so and take it easy ..... plan a trip or two??? :confused3

Love the picture of Sam and speaking of her ........

Happy Birthday to Sam!!

Janet - your dd is beautiful! Happy Bday to her! I get the same "lip" from my dd (age 14) when I ask her to pose for a pic. No mom, I don't have time, blah blah. But then she strikes a pose with a pretty grin. You better catch it on the first try because it disappears and she moves on with her busy life!!!

Thanks for the congrats for my dd on dance team!!!

Quiet time AND a peaceful shower? That's fantastic! :worship: :goodvibes

Sounds confusing and expensive to fly. Especially with the offsite stuff. How perfect that Miss is staying at your 2 choices. It's like it was meant to be. :goodvibes That whole CBR pool area does look amazing! ::yes::

Our weekend in Rochester was a blur... but we got alot accomplished. Plus, last night I found out I don't have to return this weekend, my sister was able to enlist other help for the yard sale! YEAH!!

Happy Birthday dear Sam! :bday: Great news about not having to go back to Rochester this weekend! :banana:

sjs314: So it turns out the Del Boca Vista name is actually owned by some enterprising soul residing in Woodland Country Club in Boca Raton. Maybe babyberger knows where that is????? :hyper: Hmmmmmmm... it quite possibly could be Newwwwman's retirement address!!!!!

i_heart: Glad DS worked it all out in his way... he's growing up good. ::yes::

Cracking up over all of the Seinfeld stuff! :rotfl:

Seems like my DS might have a better head on his shoulders than I do. :confused3 He's my devout rule follower. I should have known better than to do anything questionable related to him. I remember one time last year he woke me up at about 4am in tears to tell me that he said a swear (in his room, alone at bedtime) and that he was very sorry and couldn't sleep until he confessed. :confused3:rotfl2:

IHeart, I feel for you on your DS situation&.actually something kind of similar happened to my DS in 6th grade. There was an incident that he was not part of -- just indirectly in a third party way. :hug: Sorry for your DS too! I guess it's never too soon to learn that life isn't always fair.

Way to go Sam! :thumbsup2 Gotta work out now so you can eat some major birthday goodies without any guilt on the weekend! :cake:

~~~~~~~
Well, DD decided to grace me with a rare nap today so I am enjoying the quiet for the last time until school starts back up. :surfweb: I should do laundry, but that can wait. :goodvibes
GG
KOOK love the change to BLT!
When I saw that you posted BLT instead of CR/BLV, I thought, "That's a sign that BLT may open up and I should keep calling";)
So, it's me, Kook, Koh, and Magic in early August (am I missing anybody???).... me thinks this spells DISmeet! :cool1::cool1::cool1:
Overlapping dates look to be 8/7-8/9. My flight gets in around 6 on the 7th. Not sure when you are heading out on the 9th koh. Perhaps we should aim for 8/8. Thoughts??? :scratchin
Keep me posted - I'll be on Bay Lake with my Sea Raycer fueled and ready to hop over to 7 Seas Lagoon for a Lapu Lapu.
Just stopping by to say hi :wave2: way behind, it's been busy here. And tomorrow I go in for knee surgery. Doing a repair. While I'm recovering at home I'll have lots of time to get caught up!! :goodvibes
Best of luck and maybe you'll end up like that Brady Bunch episode where they got their tonsils out and they got to eat lots of ice cream:hyper:
Good Morning All! :wave2:
Let's see...it's been like FOREVER since I was here... (can I come back? :teeth:)
Heather? Heather who? You want to come back? :scratchin Well, I think we used to have a Heather around these parts, but we lost her somewhere near the last day of her DCL TR. We think she went overboard and is still swimming to Cancun.
:welcome: back and the mat is always out:hug:
Sue - was it the podcast team?? I think they were just in Alaska based on the FB posts. I am way you behind on listening to the shows!
Yes, the DISUnplugged team was due to leave Aulani and arrive for the cruise yesterday. I love their shows, too. I especially love their restaurant reviews - so funny (and usually spot on).
I can't believe how early some kids get out of school!!! DD9 doesn't get out until 6/21 and DD6 until 6/28!!!! :eek:
We're 6/18 here and they always go back the day after Labor Day (it's a silly Commonwealth law). When do your girls go back?
Good morning! Tomorrow is the last day of school but I gave the kids the choice of going or not since the parties were yesterday and they are not doing any more work. Steven's teacher's last day was yesterday so we had decided that yesterday was his last day as well and Sarah chose to stay home today and to go tomorrow to say good bye to her friends. They both slept in and I got some quiet time to myself and even got to shower without wondering if they were killing each other :p
So now to try to catch up......
KOOK - as I said on the CR board, I am so VERY HAPPY for you!!!! And also very jealous, I really want to be back at CR :goodvibes
You'll be at CR in February!! (Right?)
Now you can take the kids to Gumbo Limbo everyday! Is Lion Country still open? I hope summer vacation goes smoothly for you and the kids. Can you drop the kids off at Mom's now that she's closer?:rolleyes1
Kook thanks for the AP info. Now guess I'll have to check renewal rate vs renewing when I get there and applying my 1 day ticket to renewal that i saved from the January promo with dining, and had to add the 1 day ticket for the package. Our AP expires around our 3rd day of August trip.
You're welcome. We never renew because then the AP expires from the renewal date rather than when the voucher is activated. But, for those who can't purchase a new AP at a discount, the renewal is a much better alternative than before.
sjs314: So it turns out the Del Boca Vista name is actually owned by some enterprising soul residing in Woodland Country Club in Boca Raton. Maybe babyberger knows where that is????? :hyper: Hmmmmmmm... it quite possibly could be Newwwwman's retirement address!!!!!
pas130: A little Orange Bird told me your DH doesn't like the FWC decor? So what does this mean is pas-language?
Is the Woodlands Country Club in Tamarac or Boca? Melissa will know.
I though that OB heard that Jeanette's DD doesn't like the interior of the FWC, but by now, her DH might not like it either:confused3. But, he loves WL, so you'd think he'd like FWC... right, Jeanette?
So are your dates changing again?
I too lost a baby at 14 weeks, and was devastated&and did allow myself to grieve& everyone is different&(btw still have my last ultrasound)&. But as you mentioned, I probably wouldnt have my dear sweet Sam and I simply cannot imagine that. :hug:
Kook, you know Im so happy that you are able to fit in Disney!! :woohoo: I am not giving up hope on a summer trip -- Yet.
So sorry for the loss you and wookie experienced:hug:, but on a much brighter note..................
HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS TO OUR POP PRINCESSES' DAUGHTER SAM!!!!!:cheer2::bday::cake:
Good Morning All! :wave2:
Let's see...it's been like FOREVER since I was here... (can I come back? ) Hope everyone is doing well and getting ready for their summer vacations. Life has been crazy crazy (but good) with school getting out, kids' activities, and grad school. Since DH was out of town last night, I spent several hours on the Dis trying to catch up on TRs and different threads....soooooooo behind! Where does time go??!! Going back now to see what I've missed on this thread ;)
:goodvibes Heather
:wave2: Of course you can come back. :grouphug:
My DSs still have school for a few more days. Thursday and Friday will be half days for them. The first part of school tomorrow will be spent taking half their final exams. Then on Friday, the last half of the day will be spent taking the last half of their final exams. They do Friday like this so parents won't pick up their kids early.
Just stopping by to say hi :wave2: way behind, it's been busy here. And tomorrow I go in for knee surgery. Doing a repair. While I'm recovering at home I'll have lots of time to get caught up!!
Yesterday I had a Dis meet with a couple that I know on the BC/YC threads. They were on the Disney Alaska cruise!! It was a fun meet. I met them in town by the cruise port. Even got to see the Wonder!!
I hope the surgery goes well, and the recovery goes by quickly and with as little pain as possible.
I am so glad you posted this. It was a fear of mine as well. :hug:
Anyway, I guess my dilemma was for naught. DS looked at me like I had two heads when I told him he could stay home. He said he didn't want to worry all summer that she would be mad at him on the first day of 3rd grade about today. Plus he wants to say goodbye to his teacher and make summer plans with his friends. :goodvibes
Ice cream sundaes after school it is!
Have fun getting sundaes.
Good morning! Tomorrow is the last day of school but I gave the kids the choice of going or not since the parties were yesterday and they are not doing any more work. Steven's teacher's last day was yesterday so we had decided that yesterday was his last day as well and Sarah chose to stay home today and to go tomorrow to say good bye to her friends. They both slept in and I got some quiet time to myself and even got to shower without wondering if they were killing each other :p
That's how the DSs last school district did it. Actually the last week of school, they let kids bring DVD's to watch. Basically they were just there so they could count them as being there for the state. I think it's stupid how this district does it. I was told they used to take all their tests during the mornings of the last two days of school, but then they had a lot of parents picking them up early on Friday to start vacations. They moved the tests to the later half of the day on Friday to prevent this. The kids don't have to come to school those two days, but if they don't they have to take their finals during the summer.
WOO HOO for quiet time and a shower!!
Hi Peeps!! :wave2:
My friends I have not forgotten you! .... Thank you to everyone for you supprt on my job situation.... It is what it is& I have a job, while others don't. Yesterday was the pits, but today is a new day and promises to be better. I have hope!! :goodvibes
Our weekend in Rochester was a blur... but we got alot accomplished. Plus, last night I found out I don't have to return this weekend, my sister was able to enlist other help for the yard sale! YEAH!!
Just wanted to pass along that today will surely be a better day.. it is my sweet Sams birthday...15!! Wow. :banana: :banana: Her hair is wet, just was like, "hurry up Mom I gotta get to school!" kids ....:)
Just don't let other people guilt you with the "well at least you have a job" when your expressing stress about your job. You have every right to those feelings and don't let people make you feel otherwise. I hope today is a better day. You can always look at it this way, if it does get bad enough that you want to find another job, it's easier to find a new job when your already working than it is when you don't have a job. Who knows, maybe your dream job is out there, just waiting for you to apply.
WOO HOO on not having to go back this weekend!! Maybe you can just have some much needed family fun.
Happy Birthday to Sam!! She's so pretty!!
Well, DD decided to grace me with a rare nap today so I am enjoying the quiet for the last time until school starts back up. :surfweb: I should do laundry, but that can wait.
WOO HOO for nap time!! I agree, the laundry can wait. Besides, it might be the one noise that will wake your sleeping beauty up from her nap early.
Wookie - *hugs* He probably didn't even consider that it would upset you...
Sent from my iPad using DISBoards
wookie :hug: while I never lost a baby I guess men just can not feel the same way as a woman or understand the pain and hurt associated with it.
Wookie: I agree that sometimes men seem so insensitive, but they don't think the way we do. Hugs!
Heather!!! Hiya!
Wookie - big hugs about last night!
Awww wookie. I'm so sorry you are hurting. Have you explained to DH exactly why you feel the way you do? Maybe he just doesn't get it. :hug:
Wookie - I am so sorry to hear about your loss even if it was so long ago :hug: As for men, they truly are from another planet when it comes to the emotional stuff :sad2: Today is a new day and I hope it brings you some peace and happiness!
:grouphug:
Melissa
Wookie - it's a new day!! hope you're feeling better today! Maybe explain how you feel to your DH?
Wookie, I'm sorry your husband keeps throwing that in your face. Clearly he hasn't dealt with the loss yet, maybe he needs counselling?
I have had a tubal pregnancy too years ago.
Wookie: He's on your side even when it seems he's on another planet. :headache:
Wookie, Men just do not get it. :hug:&I too lost a baby at 14 weeks, and was devastated&and did allow myself to grieve& everyone is different&(btw still have my last ultrasound)&. But as you mentioned, I probably wouldnt have my dear sweet Sam and I simply cannot imagine that. :hug:
Thanks y'all :grouphug: I think he does it because he doesn't want me to forget. He has a history of bringing up bad memories with people so they don't forget them. He used to do this back when his sister lived in West Texas and she would come to visit. When she was a teenager she went through this runaway phase and she wanted to move in with this drug dealer. Anyway, it was this big long terrible stressful time for his family. When she would come to visit, he would ask her why she did that and would always bring it up. Finally, after years of him doing this, I asked him why he did it. He said that he never wanted her to forget the pain and stress she put the rest of the family through. I think he thinks that since I don't talk about it, that I don't say things like, "well I wonder if they would be graduating this year or going into their senior year" or "I wonder if they would have loved marching band and much as I did" that I have forgotten about it. I just don't see the point in the constant "what if's". Playing the "what if" game doesn't bring the child back. All it does is open the wound again and again. I think he thinks that if we don't talk about it, it's like it never happened.
Luckily, today is another day and we're one day closer to our WDW trip. I really don't want to wish the Summer away, but I could really use some Disney family time right about now.
Well I'm off to get some school work done and then get a shower for school. The oldest DS wants to come to school with me again. He likes sitting in on my class.
Grocery shopped, last load of laundry in the dryer and even took Steven for a haircut, which is always a nightmare, today he was super sensitive, but made it through it. So now to catch up again :thumbsup2
First, HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAM!!!!! party::bday:party:
Janet - sorry work is a downer :sad2: But it is a great day to be happy and celebrate! And yay on not having to go back to Rochester this weekend :yay: Oh and DVC is on hold until we know more about DH's company, the sale is still pending and so much can happen :scared:
Koh - if it were me, I would stick with AKL. I honestly feel a big difference between mods and deluxes I haven't stayed at AKL but did CBR and always felt like we were walking to get where we wanted to go. As for the fly or drive, UGH, sounds like a real dilemma :confused3 It is a year latter and DD may do okay on the plane, but what does that do to costs?
DznyCrzy11 - :wave2:
SueM - oh you are talking about my area :goodvibes I am in Boca now, lived in North Lauderdale briefly, and worked in Deerfield, right on the beach :beach: My parents were also on this coast but made the move to the west coast because they fell in love with it and decided that is where they wanted to be. I really do like the beaches on the west coast better, just softer sand and seems a little less chaotic. Good luck again with your surgery :hug:
MAGIC - :lmao: well now I understand the new possible plans :p
Heather - I think the Dis beats Stats any day of the week :rotfl: What are you getting your masters in? I am guessing something business if you are taking stats.
i_heart - I know, quiet time and a shower, I could just :faint: LOL! If you want you can just send your laundry here and I will do it since I am caught up for today :laundy:
KOOK - yep, Feb at BLT or CR if BLT doesnt discount. Oh the sacrifice we will have to make to stay at CR :rotfl2:
BOCA CONVERSATION - okay to the best of my knowledge this is no real Boca Del Vista, unless it is a house name somewhere. There are two Boca Vista neighborhoods though ;) And the posh country club is actually Woodfield....and the rumors coming out of there are unbelievable :rolleyes1
Four weeks from right now I will just about be to my parents for the start of our 12 day beach vacation :beach: I am so excited to see my niece and nephew, my one year old niece just started walking, so that will be fun and my 3 year old nephew is a little tazmanian devil. We are all staying at my parents for 3 nights before we move over to the condos on the beach for the week. It will be :crowded: at my parents, but so much fun! I hate that my brother lives in Denver and I barely get to see him, so we are all so excited for the time together!
Hope everyone is having a good day!
:grouphug:
