1 More DAY!

:banana::banana::banana::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: :banana::banana::banana:

I don't know if it's excitement about the last day of school but Miss M has been non .... stop motormouth. Went to be late last night because she couldn't sleep so she stayed up reading in bed. Yapped possibly without even taking a breath the entirety of this morning. It's either excitement or a growth spurt. Do 6 year olds get growth spurts? Her mind has been totally wired lately. Reminds me of when she would have growth spurts as a baby. Makes me sooooo glad we haven't told her about the trip. :thumbsup2 Funny coincidence, she opened a fortune cookie last night; the fortune read: "There are many unexpected & thrilling surprises in store for you!" :rolleyes1

Will check in later. Off to fill my cubes!

So exciting!!! :yay:That was the perfect fortune cookie for your princess. princess: It won't be long till you are all enjoying the Florida sun!:cheer2: :beach:

Okay, quick multi.... :goodvibes

Hi Miss. Keep popping those Airborne. :thumbsup2 So soon for you. pixiedust:

I'm on my first dose of the day... chugga chugga! (I'm sure it's more mental than physical but I imagine the vitamin C can't hurt. )

So DS ranked the resorts that he knows of and AKL was last on that list... :-/

Tops was CR...ummm...that deluxe room is long gone now and the only thing left with the discount is like TPV in the Tower I think...

Second was a pirate room at CBR...

3rd was BC where we stayed last year and 4th was AKL...

What to do...

Hmmm. If I were you (since splits are a no-go, right?) I'd probably just stick with AKL. Have you guys visited it before? That lobby... It had a very grand first impression for us. :thumbsup2

Thanks. Right now I'm all about the Dayquil and the aloe (for the sunburn I got at the game). It makes it even harder to wipe your running nose when your face is sunburned.

How'd the mid-term go? When do you find out? :goodvibes LOL about the sunburned face. Yes, I know that all too well. Just call me Casper.

The Meet n Greet committee announced the theme for the meet n greet ....

A Very Merry UnChristmas!!!

:lmao::lmao: I have been singing the song all morning after reading this... but substituting Christmas for Birthday. Yes, you absolutely HAVE to get one of those horrendous Christmas sweaters. :rotfl:

That is an epic countdown!!!

I learned from the master... :rolleyes1 :worship:

Are you flying? Out of O'Hare? How are you telling her then? Trying so hard to keep the trip a surprise for now...but DS keeps mentioning Disney and watching the shows on Destination America or whatever the channel is... :-)

Yeah, flying... but out of Midway. We're pretty much equidistant to both so we just go with the cheapest. (The 2 "Free" Bags don't hurt either.)

For the big surprise, I think I'm going to take that fortune that she saved and take it with me on the way up to school (we walk to and fro). When we get close to the front door, I'll say something like, "Oh, remember the fortune you got two days ago?" Then I'll open the door to the suitcases in the foyer with Duffy (or maybe Minnie to be a bit more of an instant hint) perched on top and her daddy -- who should be at work -- wearing his Mickey t-shirt. I haven't really come up with anything better. :upsidedow

And we've made the last change. (pinky swear...) I tend to divide up my trips (yes, you hear overplanning here...:lmao:). Since we're now at AKL, we'll use the pool there, love that place! When we move over to Epcot, I probably won't swim, so we made a little change from YC to BWI. I like the location better, quicker to Epcot, shopping. :cool1:
My fingers are crossed they will offer the Military Salute our last two days. Staying tuned to hear if we get lucky! popcorn::

I'm reasonably sure we're set. A few days of our trip overlap with free dining, so making more changes isn't a good idea. I had to work like crazy to get our reservations booked. Now I am waiting to hear what is on the agenda for the first weekend of F&W. Hoping there will be some fun events! :yay:

Always fun to catch up with the RC friends. Hope everyone has a great Tuesday! :grouphug:

I like this change! Uh-oh with the pinky swear, we know how those go. :rolleyes1 I'd love to stay at BW one of these days... but I can't pull myself away from SAB. Now, if AKL pool lives up to my expectations, we just may make it there one of these days. :goodvibes

Wow such a chatty bunch since I was here yesterday.

 1 more Day for Our Missoutandabout

Busy couple of days here Grocery shopping yesterday and Target today.

Bob and I both needed to go get Blood testing done for Dr Appt. later in the week.

I got mine but Bob ended up p'd off about waiting and stormed out. :sad2:

Here is what happened we arrived at 7:55 am I signed in and handed the sign in log to Bpb who looked at it and said to me that I put 8:55 not 7:55 so I told him then change It for me which he did. They called me in and when I came back out he was still waiting and now the waiting room was full. He stood up and said He was leaving, stopped to cross off his name and he had never written it down. Guess that explained why they never called him.

I am really thinking he has early onset Alzheimer's my mother had Alzheimer's but not till she was in her early 70's but I see the signs, he refuses to mention what's been happening to his Dr. I know they have medications now but his stubborn azz refuses to admit he has a problem.

I have no patience to deal with this :sad1:

Anyway I feel better now getting off a little steam. :)

Sometimes I think it's just an old man thing! For a long time I was worried DH was getting Alzheimer but now as I talk to some male friends .... none of them can remember ANYTHING!!! Kids tell me to be patient but sometimes it's hard. Hang in there friend .... vent all you want.

Hi Rcers. I received a Southwest Fall Fares email today with dates open 'til Dec 18. Hope the prices let you get to WDW that much faster and cheaper! And my fave AirTran, too.

Bummer, I did notice the fares didn't seem like any great deal like any great shakes to places I am pricing... :rolleyes1

 and :grouphug:

The Smokies ended-up too far a walk from the MK:laughing:. Good thing I never actually booked the big cabin because DH is now able to take a bit more leave than he first thought. So I instead booked CR/BLV for 9 nights in August:goodvibes. BLT and Atrium Club were sold-out with the military rate, but I did get our favorite BLV so we're happy campers (sans cabin). WL is at the top of the list for Christmas:santa:

I also did OCI and posted the details on the CR thread. We usually stay CL so DH was confused as to why I would do OCI. I told him it would speed things up a bit at check-in since paperwork would be ready and he asked why they don't just prepare everything ahead of time for all guests rather than just OCI guests. Hmm...That was a good question - that I can't answer:confused:

Phew. Got those vouchers just in time. I thought they normally made the announcement on a Friday for a Monday increase. Hardly much warning with this one!
You have them in-hand now? Don't forget to exchange them at Guest Services (and have ID with you and DH) and then buy your TiW!

KOOK - hopefully you can figure out what is going to work best for you this summer soon. I know you want to have something planned, but I hear you, I wont book unless I can change or cancel without penalty. Is there any chance of DH being able to take more than one week at time :confused3
I went back in the RC record here, and leave it to Melissa to suggest JUST what we ended up doing a day later:thumbsup2. DH is now able to take a few days from one week and all of the next so it all works out:)

And...I was reading on the WL thread, and I think our Kookster has a wonderful update! Hope she stops by here and fills us in on her happy (trip planned) news!! :dance3:
I love that you tattled on me:rotfl:. Thanks for suggesting I spill the beans here, too:goodvibes

Oooooo, Kook! We're breaking out the popcorn::
Put that popcorn in a cube and get to packin'! I'm excited for your surprise trip:hyper:. Will you be posting a tad whilst on vacation, pretty please?

Waving hello! Long day, nuero pysch for Steven, therapist for Sarah and all the little things in between. School parties tomorrow then I should have some time to catch up!

Love and hugs to everyone!!!

UGH, you always have your hands full and never cease to impress.

Are you STILL at a booking impasse?

pas130... go ahead and shout it from the rooftops while wearing your best Dan'l Boone cap that you are staying FWC. I think it is fantastic!! I am proudly staying there next March and I can't wait to hear your report. So don't go changing it now... ya hear??!!!!!

The Sarasota town planners stuck their heads in the beach sand 50 years ago and haven't taken then out yet. Sarasota county has such a complete lack of planning zoning etc it is frightful. ... Glad Mom & Dad's place rocks. :cool1: ... OK so our annual trip with out of town family is usually August but starts July 31 this year. That is set in stone and usually doesn't change too much except for resort. But I do have that rescheduled date from Mom's cancellation scheduled for 11 days earlier on July 20. Now that will most probably change as my old friend is now thinking they probably won't arrive at WDW til the end of her Florida trip instead of the beginning as originally planned. If so, I may still do a night at Celebration Bohemian or similar just to go have dinner with her. Then I will move the ressie to a MNSSHP date. Thanks for asking. I hope you followed that... I can't even keep up with me sometimes!
The cabin is no more - kind of like the one Kramer burnt down with the Cuban. But, I agree with you on Jeanette's cabin - but her DD doesn't like the interior:worried:

Janet will have to update the RC Roster so I can see if we still overlap.

BTW, our tickers are at the same countdown!

Miss: Where is your countdown???
She is tickerless! Get thee to a ticker!

I feel lucky I was able to make all the switches, resorts and dining. I am very happy it all worked out. I was able to get the budget ok, and keep CL. :yay:

I've not been to Sarasota, but we make occasional trips to Ft Lauderdale. That's a crazy place, too. Anytime my father in law gives us driving instructions all I can hear is Morty saying, "Stay on Biscayne, don't get off Biscayne!" :lmao:

And we've made the last change. (pinky swear...) I tend to divide up my trips (yes, you hear overplanning here...:lmao:). Since we're now at AKL, we'll use the pool there, love that place! LOL about Morty! Whenever we're in Boca I think of Del Boca Vista and Jack Klompus (in his thick NY accent) referring to Jerry's Cadillac he crashed on Alligator Alley as a behemoth:rotfl:

Sometimes I think it's just an old man thing! For a long time I was worried DH was getting Alzheimer but now as I talk to some male friends .... none of them can remember ANYTHING!!! Kids tell me to be patient but sometimes it's hard. Hang in there friend .... vent all you want.
Sheila and Linda, I often worry I'm losing my faculties and worry about DH losing them simultaneously:laughing:. Seriously, I think we all get this way from time to time and if you're stressed or tired, the symptoms are exacerbated.

We just booked our bounceback...here at the Poly! All of the CL CM's treat us like family here and we just love it so much. We have really been enjoying the resort and spending a lot of time taking advantage of all of the amenities. Even though this is our shortest Disney stay ever, we are really relaxed and having a blast. This is our home. :cloud9:

Yay for a Poly BB! I'm starting to rethink my summer plans. I think I may need some more Poly time in there.

Well, after more and more thought, Boston may just be DH and I. We like the thought of adult time, strolling around, taking in the sights, just some time together. The DD's would be nicely spoiled here by my parents, and we wouldn't be yelling at them in the car! So, we'll see if this plan sticks! And I cannot bring myself to change from the BC yet for November.: Even if we drop CL, it might be better. Sigh.....1st world problems. These are not even problems. I know this.

Hi to Ginny, Janet, Sheila, Kook, and everyone else!

Jen

Adults only to Boston and BC CL in November sounds perfect to me. ::yes::

So DS ranked the resorts that he knows of and AKL was last on that list... :-/

If you want AKL, keep it. If he is anything like his mom, his answer will just change tomorrow anyway. :lmao: My kids are mini RCers too. :goodvibes

The Meet n Greet committee announced the theme for the meet n greet ....

A Very Merry UnChristmas!!!

Now I just need to think of a tacky Christmas outfit .... the famous ughly Christmas sweater .... the light up Christmas lights necklace .... : Can you just picture one late February evening 70+ Divas prancing from the Grand Californian thru DTD to the ball room of the Paradise Pier Hotel!!!! Such a sight to see!

Sounds amazing!

And we've made the last change. (pinky swear...) I tend to divide up my trips (yes, you hear overplanning here...). Since we're now at AKL, we'll use the pool there, love that place! Vent away! Sorry you are going through this. Men can be so stinking frustrating!

I have a dilemma that I could use some advice on. My DS8 got in trouble at school a few weeks ago. Here's what happened.

You may remember he was getting hit and bullied by this other boy earlier in the year. So this bully was making fun of one of DS8's friends. He was calling him fat, and all kinds of mean things. DS steps in and says "He's not fat, he's just tender and juicy like a good piece of chicken. If you bit him, you'd see." He and friend turn and walk away. Seriously, I don't know what he was thinking with this, but he was trying to defend his friend and diffuse which he thought worked :confused3

Until.... a few minutes later the other kid comes over and actually bites DS's friend. Hard. Like draw blood hard.

DS and the other kid were sent to the principal's office and the friend to the nurse, then joined them in the office. DS's friend told the principal that DS really was just defending him but she didn't care.

She decides to take away half of field day from the other kid and all of it from DS since "DS was the one who initiated the biting" :( I tried talking to the principal about it because while I support a punishment for saying something stupid (he really should have thought first about what he said, even if he didn't mean it literally) I don't agree that it is mostly his fault. He didn't force the other kid's mouth onto his friend. Geez Loiuse. I'm reminded of my father saying "If someone told you to jump off a bridge... would you?" when one of us kids tried the "s/he told me to" line.

DS is crushed. He thinks it is all his fault and that he is worse then the kid who goes around hurting people and being cruel.

Anywhoo.... Tomorrow is the last day of school and field day is in the afternoon. I think I may go pick him up at lunch to circumvent the punishment that I don't think he deserves. I'd rather he end the school year with something fun and positive then sitting in the principal's office for something that happened 3 weeks ago that was only somewhat his fault.

WDYT? Bad mommy, or reasonable? Be honest. I can take it if I'm outta line here. ::yes:: Also, I wonder if they can enforce a new punishment next school year if I pull him for this one???? Hmmm....

I_heart - that is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard! I say go ahead and pick him up at lunch. :-)

Koh: Ack!! I guess sometimes it is good not to give them a choice!!:rotfl: Do what you feel it right mom, it is hard to pick what we want isn;t it!!

Jen - Give me your Boston dates again, pretty please??? I need to write it down so I can remember when you'll be here!

Candace: Ok, it is now official!! My parents have said yes and I have changed out hotel reservation to add another night and drop the bigger suite, so we are July 22 - 25 staying at the Omni Parker House!! Just DH and I!! :yay: Now we have a couple of extra tickets to the ballgame on July 24 too...can you two get a babysitter??? (Not that I wouldn't love to meet your lovely children....although it would make me feel guilty about leaving mine at home!!!)

 and :grouphug:

The Smokies ended-up too far a walk from the MK:laughing:. Good thing I never actually booked the big cabin because DH is now able to take a bit more leave than he first thought. Oh IHeart: What the heck is wrong with the people running our schools!! I agree with Koh...take him. It seems cruel to end the year on that note. Poor kid. HUGS!

I'm late on this, but can he miss the last day entirely? Nothing productive usually occurs on the last day of elementary school and I think this will be long forgotten come September. I'm sure you've already had your "What were you thinking?" talk so I would just skip the last day and go to McDonald's and the park:goodvibes

My dates are 8/1 - 8/10.

Oh IHeart: What the heck is wrong with the people running our schools!! I agree with Koh...take him. It seems cruel to end the year on that note. Poor kid. HUGS!
I love your Figment, but can't read what his name is? We always love making our own Figments, too and I always have to stop to make some music, much to DD's chagrin.

This is not shocking news! :rotfl2: Dates? Looks like we may overlap too! :cool1:

Forgot earlier to mention to Ginny that I love that you changed to BWI! What did you request? My fingers are crossed, too for the renewal of the military rate, but I worry that the savings will be reduced, as have the AP and others.

Jen! - Yay for a romantic trip with DH!!!!

I actually just sent an email to DH asking if we could go down and use those tickets!!! I will see what he says!

You can PM me with the cost and stuff if we are able to make it.

How exciting!!! :goodvibes

Good thing it's the 24th too....I have an NKOTB concert on 7/25/13...:rotfl:

The Meet n Greet committee announced the theme for the meet n greet ....

A Very Merry UnChristmas!!!

Now I just need to think of a tacky Christmas outfit .... the famous ughly Christmas sweater .... the light up Christmas lights necklace .... :rotfl2: Can you just picture one late February evening 70+ Divas prancing from the Grand Californian thru DTD to the ball room of the Paradise Pier Hotel!!!! Such a sight to see! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Be sure to take pictures!! That sounds like a fun time!!

Jen: Eeeeek! I've forgotten. Here goes...

1 More DAY!

WOOT!!!

I can't wait to hear how excited she is.

How'd the mid-term go? When do you find out? :goodvibes LOL about the sunburned face. Yes, I know that all too well. Just call me Casper.

I'm not really sure. I know I did ok on the code writing part. The multiple choice is iffy. He gave us all this stuff to study and non of it was helpful.

:upsidedow

That sounds like a pretty good reveal to me.

 Hopefully you can convince him to at least talk to the doctor about it. Maybe it's just normal aging things.

Hmmm....

Personally, I would take him out of school before field day starts. If they can't see your DS was trying to diffuse the situation with humor than they are idiots. Honestly, it sounds like their is some favoritism toward the bully going on. In my DS's school district that would be an automatic suspension, especially if blood was drawn. Then there is the fact they discussed the bully's punishment with you at all. Down here, that is a big no-no. If it's not your child, they are legally not allowed to discuss things like that with you. Honestly, it sounds like some big changes need to happen in the office of that school.

I asked one of my many teacher friends if they thought he would have to serve the punishment next year, if you take him out before he serves it this year. She has taught at several districts here, and she said the punishment wouldn't carry over to the next year here. She assumes it would be the same for your school district.

ETA.... would it be possible to just keep him home the whole day. Maybe get him up and dressed like he's going to school, and then have a Mommy-DS fun day?
