Our little thread of BIG changes, the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

HI
Im new on this thread but I belong here! Am I the only one making my TA crazy with all of the resort preference changes I have made prior to Free dining coming out on may 7th? I feel so bad for her! i email her at least twice a day to "check in"! Im losing my mind! That POR exclusion really through me off of my game! Please tell me im not the only crazy person!:thumbsup2

:lmao:;):rotfl::rotfl2:

If you're crazy...99.9% on here are. I think you're the new normal with regard to Disney. POR exclusion was a surprise, even to those on the POR thread as it was customarily included, but it is becoming very popular...so there you have it. Once you have this under your belt, you can book your own trip and change it to your hearts content like the rest of us! LOL I booked our first trip through AAA T/A, but after that I was on my own and gladly! I am a POR afficionado and will likely return there even without a discount because I like it so much. CHACHACHANGES are good!:goodvibes:goodvibes

I normally book all of our trips because I am crazy with all of the changes but this time I have been so busy finishing up my nursing degree that I had a TA book everything . Shes been awesome but I fear she may kill me if I switch something again!!! We currently have 2 trips in the works and both keep changing! Resorts are changing, dates are changing, even the people are changing!!:lmao: Everytime I send her another email my husband tells me how crazy she muxt think I am!!! I just hope she has someone else that is as crazy as I am so I don't stick out too much!!!:rotfl2:

Glad I am among friends here~!!:lmao::thumbsup2

There should be a support group for TAs of RCers!!! Popping in quickly to say hi and a :grouphug: have to pick up DS then back home to my torturous homework :(

Krystal I liked them all:cool1:. I prefer lake of CSR vs POR. Also boat service is interrupted so check on that before you book(new Disney Springs updates).

I like both POP and Movies:)

My kids loved the Values and it is fun while they are still young. Its the double beds now with teens that is a no no for us. Need sleep 5 cause ds and dd sleep separate.

I don't mind splits as long as the better one is 2nd! I would not like to "downgrade" in a vacation:rolleyes1

The plan would definitely to do the mod first and deluxe second. Not sure about DS and DD sharing a double bed...LOL.

We always did girls bed and boys bed since ds first trip. He was a pest with his sissy:duck:

Our first trip dd1 slept with dh and I had the other bed to myself. She would not stop crying from pack n play because she could SEE us:rolleyes:

Finally with deluxe ds gets twin and dd and I one queen and dh his own. We like BLT cause I get to actually sleep in a king with dh!:thumbsup2

Oh and on our mom n me trips some nights we share and some nights we have separate beds. At mods we just book a king and it is easier. We put all of our electronics in the center so they don't fall off bed:)

Aarghh! The site isn't letting me price out anything today! :-/

At least I was able to do some FPing early this am (like midnight!). :-) got A&E and 7DMT!! Woohoo!

Same here! I've been trying all day to price out different scenarios. The FD has thrown me off. We've lucked out and had FD the past 3 years in mid-October and I fear this year we're out of luck. Trying to decide if I should go early and pull my DD out of school (1st grade) or push back a month and go before Thanksgiving.
Not sure what the pre-Thanksgiving crowds are like though. . .
Crossing my fingers that we'll magically get a PIN or something that will help us out during our current dates!

Thankfully it was back up earlier this evening. I will be doing some Disney math after the kids are in bed!!

You are not crazy!! You do belong here. And the POR exclusion has thrown a friend of mine off too. I am helping them book their trip and now they will be at Caribbean Beach instead I think. Coronado Springs is completly booked for their dates. :confused3

My TA is so over our September trip -- I keep changing little things and running "what if" scenarios by her. She's been super positive but the emails are getting a little shorter and I had to stop with all the new promotions coming out... I doubt she can focus on the 'what if' of changing MM time by an hour when she's got tons of people hoping to grab FD. :rotfl:

That's me! First time using TA for September and it's only because I wasn't sure if December would pan out (would hate to have her help for 6 months and then have the trip implode and she gets nothing). I figured this way I could guarantee some commission for the smaller trip. Definitely an effort in restraint for me - I'm such a Disney control freak and this is forcing me to step back. Not a bad thing but definitely new! :hyper:

They probably have their own secret thread!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I just had the thought of a screen full all the FP+ venting threads... except it's TA's and they're venting about their clients!!! :rotfl2: Even better would be the "Our little thread of dealing with BIG changes, the neverending saga of the Resort Chengers TAs"

I have several friends who do this scenario like Trish said. Also, if you're only planning on doing it for the Mod nights it would save $$$ and would be a short stint.

I totally understand wanting the third bed, though. Our LO is good at sleeping in a PnP when we travel but I am VERY nervous about the girls sharing. DD6 thrashes like a shark and I can only imagine the drama. It's so bad that our DF who is going with us in Sept said she would sleep in the same bed with DD6 but there is no way I would wish that on anyone (DH and I hate it when she crawls into our King... let alone a Queen!), so we're doing bunks. I told DH we may be stunk in bunk or daybed rooms at Disney for the next 18 years... darn! Deluxe only!!! ;-)

Thank you everyone for your assistance! We are going to switch from BWI to CR tomorrow :)

No maybe I won't switch again...:rolleyes1

I absolutely understand this post 100%. I have been on the phone and about to talk to someone and changed my mind back to staying where we are! :thumbsup2 Hope you come to a good decision!

CH-CH-CH-CHANGES!!!
TA got FD for the whole group for the week in Dec! W00t!!!! It's $200 more for each room than doing a CSR/SoG split so I think it's totally worth it -- that's including only having 3 rooms at SoG and keeping all 4 at CSR.

SOOOOO HAPPPPPPPYYYYYYYYY!!!!!! :banana::banana::banana:

We figure if BIL/SIL complain about the cost difference we and MIL/FIL will each throw $50 toward their total - it's worth the extra cash for the four of us to not share a room for 3 nights and to keep peace in the land. I, personally, think BIL/SIL will like the stress of not moving resorts with their little one and getting to stay at a Disney resort for the whole week... not to mention the freedom of Free Dining.

*HUGS* to all! :wave2:

CONGRATS! I just helped my friends get it too for their September trip too! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Yeah!! Congrats on FD and not moving and 4 rooms at CSR!! I am finishing up figuring numbers (for OOP food costs) and then sending it to DH to see if he'll go along with it...4 nights CSR and 4 nights WL...AND 4th of July fireworks at MK and EP!!

Kohl - Love it! Sounds like a great split!!!

Thanks all! I appreciate you all bearing with me through the stress of figuring all this out and keeping me sane!!!! My only two hang-ups are no AP (not worth it since tickets are part of FD) and I can't even think about ch-ch-changing (four rooms, no way!) :guilty: BUT, CSR looks like it fits the group well, I can handle no AP (*sniff, sniff*) and now I can actually enjoy planning instead of stressing over accommodating moving day, discounts, and the like.

My suggestion to the group is to do a family meal Christmas night and the night of the 26th (both at resorts). I also talked to MIL and we want to do a family brunch on Christmas OOP at a character meal - so everyone can see the kiddos with Mickey. I am also thinking of trying to do lunch or early dinner as a group on Christmas Eve (figuring we'll be out of parks until later that night). How does this sound:

24th: Ohana?
25th: CM or Cape May/ somewhere with traditional Holiday meal (WCC?)
26th: ???

Was thinking of trying 1900 PF for the 26th (figuring the buffet appeals to the eclectic mix of taste in the group) and the stepsisters would amuse everyone but would love some suggestions. Does anyone know if there are special holiday fireworks on Christmas? Or are they done all week after Christmas? Thinking if we did WCC we could wander over to Poly Beach and watch the fireworks.

*HUGS* to the best group of changelings I could ever meet!!!! :grouphug:

I'm back!!! :).

Ok, so our 7 night cruise on the Fantasy is a definite, what is not a definite is what we are doing the day before. Here's a recap: Originally we were going to stay at the airport hotel and visit DTD, until I realized a roundtrip cab would be $110. So then we were going to stay at POFQ and visit DTD. Then it went to staying at POFQ with a day at Epcot. Then to staying at BC, changed to CBR, changed to CS and NOW (if they have the same discounts on Aug 29) AKL!! With the same discounts we can stay at AKL for the same price as CS (at full price). Well now, I'm thinking to cancel the day at Epcot and just make it a resort day. I would love to visit Epcot but I think it will be too exhausting. We'll have to be up at 5 or 5:30 am, our flight gets there at 3:13 pm and then we were going to stay at Epcot until midnight. The next morning the DCL bus would pick us up between 12 and 1pm. I figured if we made it a resort day at AKL, we could relax by the pool and hot tub, check out the Savannah, and eat at one of their restaurants.

So, knowing what you all know, what would you do? Stay at AKL and spend the day at Epcot or just have a resort day at AKL? Decisions, decisions, haha.
