Our little thread of BIG changes, the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

Pas- The great thing is, there‘s always something to change! :thumbsup2
 There really is always something to change..after a lot of :teacher: and thinking....without consulting the family...:rolleyes1 I booked 2 nights at Hard Rock. I know DH will complain about changing hotels...but it gives him Universal before we head to Beach Club :yay: AND I didn't blow the budget

Good Morning, RCers!
Surgery went well; sore as all get out but hoping it gets better each day.My main surgeon thinks it's funny I always go to Disney after hip surgery (last time was 8 weeks post). Before surgery he asks what my short term goals are and Disney is always on the list. :) I have tried to explain the therapeutic value of Disney but no prescription for magic thus far. :confused3. ;)

I'm loving some of the ideas and changes you all are doing! I'm hoping we are stationed in FL next so we can try the land/sea option some of you RCers have me salivating over. :thumbsup2. Until then, I plan to live vicariously so post it up, ladies!!!:hippie:
Take care and Happy Thursday!!!

Glad everything went well for you! Now it's time to plan & reach your Disney goal! :thumbsup2

So far my only must do's are Fantasmic dining and CRT...I was contemplating wishes dessert party...but now I'm thinking a night at wl before bc...and we can boat over to cr...or gf and do wishes from the beach. I'm hopeless

I love the idea of watching Wishes from one of the beaches ... I've never done that .... sounds nice and relaxing!

It's amazing Mama! Not as incredible as watching from Main St. but there's no competition for a spot ;)

See what he knows...

I asked Miss M what her "ultimate birthday meal" would be, "Pizza and pasta!" Guess we'll be trying Via Napoli then. :lmao:

Wooo, LOVE the new plans Jeanette! :hyper:

I got one of those lovely emails TODAY from Target that our date "may have been compromised"! Yay. :headache: So did the hubs -- who doesn't even have an account associated with that email address -- the only time we used a different from our RedCard was once back in the beginning of October. October certainly doesn't fall under their window for the data breach. Either the data stolen wasn't only within the November - December period they claim or their entire database was stolen. At any rate, they're in major "CYA" mode now. :rolleyes2

Best. Ticker. EVER! Love that pic. (The gift cards should be a-okay.)

Not sure about Via Napoli dessert, she loves gelato if they've got it. Maybe we should make a mandatory stop back at Beaches and Cream for birthday ice cream. :thumbsup2 :rolleyes1 (No Way Jose is callin' my name... AGAIN.)

 That was a stop at Universal for snacks YUM. Via Napoli gave DH and I the yummiest anniversary dessert...now my brain can't remember what it was  YES birthday ice cream is a super good idea, how about ice cream on top of a BW Funnel cake. :goodvibes Might as well eat that in a tub, I would make such a mess:rotfl:

I love your updated plan! MissM will have a very special birthday. :cool1:pixiedust:

Ugh...I got one of those letters today, too! It's been awhile since I shopped there, probably Oct. I don't have a red card. I can only figure out they got my email from an order I placed with them in 2011 or so. Crazy. :crazy2:
I am so not happy faced at them. Target is no longer on my fav list.

I want to try that someday, maybe on our next trip.

It is official!! Subject discussed and approved by DH last night!! :-)

7/11-7/15 at GF!! SO excited!!!!! :-)

Lucky! I want to stay at that resort someday, it looks beautiful.

Tomorrow, we are under 7 months my friend!!!! :dance3:

Awesome, you're nearly at ADR time! Hope you get everything you wanted :)

Ooh, speaking of Epcot and Beaches and Cream, I was thinking of something we could do after our Epcot day. Maybe visit the Boardwalk or Beach Club for ice cream? Do they do dairy free stuff?

Oooooh, :lmao: :lmao: You can always tell where the funnel cakes are sold from the massive trails of powdered sugar EVERYWHERE.

It's official! :thumbsup2 Just booked Via Napoli for 7:45 that night. It'll be our first time trying it.

Scratched them off mine too, Ginny. :headache: My husband actually said he was going to stop shopping there. Not sure I have that much resolve. (I realized there was a typo in my comment about Target, should've read "the only time we used a credit card different from our RedCard.")

Ooh, speaking of Epcot and Beaches and Cream, I was thinking of something we could do after our Epcot day. Maybe visit the Boardwalk or Beach Club for ice cream? Do they do dairy free stuff?

Not sure if any of it's dairy free, but I know they do a couple of fruit pies and cakes. Maybe they do a dairy-free sorbet? :scratchin

==~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~==

I have to say, Beaches and Cream have really upped their game in the food department. The menu has been changed from the last time we were in there (back in October, maybe). Hubs and I had a really good burger from them a couple of weeks ago -- not your standard Disney patty stuff either. It was topped with bacon, bleu cheese, barbecue sauce and onion rings. We were both impressed.

Okay, so depending on how you slice it, I either did something stupid or smart...

I just got off an hour-long phone call with Southwest. Decided to blow through all our points for this birthday trip; although we didn't have enough for the full roundtrip so needed to buy additional. With all the fees, extra points, Early Birds and AirTran seat bookings, it came to $300 total for the three of us. :confused3

Opinions on AirTran? I know quite a few of you use them... popcorn::

Also, can I throw in a quick complaint? Has anyone seen the new Magical Express video? I want my Mickey and Pals back. The new one just has no excitement whatsoever. :(

Thanks everyone for all the well wishes! Means so much to have such support from an internet board... makes me feel closer to my other Disney Obsessed! SOOO sore but moving better. Forgot what a PITA crutches are but I`ll have muscles of steel when all is said and done.

Yay for all the new trips starting to get set in motion.
Also, really love seeing restaurants discussed-we are hoping to hit some new ones next trip.

Starting to consider ADRs-still 2 months until window opens but need to figure out from `must do` lists from all involved. Thinking of a character meal each park day breakfast (Aker, Tusker, Crystal P)... might try for Play and Dine if littlest gets into Disney Jr by then. Question is since we are looking at so many character breakfasts, is the Dining Plan worth it? I like eating and getting M&G with one swoop, not to mention a jump in the park with the early ADR... just debating if OOP is the way to go since we aren`t looking at Signature or special dining. Going to bust out the spreadsheet soon (yes, I`m that nerd) .

Opinions on Crystal P breakfast, Play n Dine breakfast? Would you replace one with Garden Grill dinner? We love GG but have not done CP or PnD...
Also, considering 50s Prime Time for a meal... yay, nay?
Going to hit Raglan Rd arrival night (tradition!) And Trex on non-park day lunch.

Finally, has anyone done the Wonderland Tea Party at GF? Considering having DD6 do it while we explore GF and then head over to MNSSHP after (we`re doing a swim morning that day so thinking of something for our `big girl` that little sister can`t do.

Just wanted to pop in and say hello before I head to bed. A lot has happened since I was on last. JM turned 15, and I turned 38. The DH took me to see Saving Mr. Banks and Salt Grass for dinner for my birthday. I seriously already had a tear rolling down my cheek before one word was spoken in the movie. I basically teared up anytime Tom Hanks was on the screen and totally lost it in the DL scenes. I didn't feel good the day we went out, but went any way. Then I really got sick and have basically been down with it since. The mil is pretty sure the fil and I both had the flu. I feel almost totally normal today.

Oh, my girls only trip, a lot has changed as well. The third person that was coming, the one with the two year old, isn't coming any more (although I'm not sure she has been informed about this yet). Since we don't have to worry about room for 3 adults and a toddler, we have been doing some RC scheming. The finalists are.......WL and BWI. Although, if we could make it work we would totally suffer through CR TPV. :lmao: We will be spending most of our time at the MK and Epcot, so we feel it makes sense to stay at one of those resorts. I would like to make BWI fit the budget, since I have never stayed there. Plus once I saw videos of the lobby, and rooms, the clown pool isn't scary and creepy, it's charming and adorable.

I took a family vote...and I got everyone so excited for BC....it's BC or bust :rotfl: Then DH just texted me to remind me of when Bree fell in the beach pool at GF because it was slippery :guilty: Janet promises next girls trip we will try to stay there:santa:

I'd LOVE a girls trip to GF one day! :) sounds heavenly! I've only been home 2 months almost, and already missing my happy place

Awww thanks

BOOOO they changed the DME video:snooty:

Via Napoli is yummy IMO! You'll have a nice birthday dinner!

And half of that sugar always ends up all over me...it's like the winds change to blow in my direction :lmao:

Wonderland tea party? Not the same as the Princess one is it? It looks so nice. I know the Princess one comes with an AG doll so it's SO expensive. Tea party sounds like a lovely treat for your DD6 to have Mama all to herself ;)

If your little ones are into Disney Jr, we really like the Play and Dine breakfast or lunch at H&V. Usually not as crowded as other character meals which means multiple visits from the characters. They recently changed to Sofia & Doc McStuffins in place of any Little Einsteins and Agent Oso. Jake and Handy Manny are still there. I'm on the fence with it for our upcoming trip...

Love the puffed French toast at CP breakfast!! :-)
