Our little thread of BIG changes, the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

Janet - no DP this time!! :-) I feel very liberated! Haha

:rotfl2: Being liberated has it's moments!! Definitely a nice change not to be tied to the DP. IMO, skip Akerhaus then as it's pricey OOP with the photo package and grab a FP+ for the princess at MK. :thumbsup2

However, don't you only get 2 princesses at MK now? You can do Cinderella and a "friend" or another princess and "friend"?

Decisions decisions!! :-)

True....It's Cinderalla and another visting princess or Rapunzel and another visiting princess. Could you FP+ both? Does DD have a favorite princess?

Also consider arriving at park opening and heading over immediately to the princesses (then you can use your FP for other attractions). :)

I do like Akerhaus, for me going with Sam it's a $100 dinner (that's why I would skip it without the DP). But your kiids being young totally understand not wanting to wait in long lines and the attraction of the characters. :goodvibes

School is taking over all my computer time, and it stinks :coffee: On the positive side..I've lost 4 lbs. in the last two weeks, and one of my assignments for my Chemistry/nutrition course is to track my food and weight...good timing.
In other breaking news, I have a new job that I will start in February. I am really nervous but excited, I will be working in a dedicated pediatric ER :cool1: I've worked in the specialty before, but it's been part of an adult ER so I am excited. It's also very close to home, and the pay rocks. So my plan is to work about 12 hours a week there (one shift) and 2 shifts at transport. Yes, my friends...normal schedule (well nights so not really normal....but only 3 nights a week).

On to my change.....

Anna Maria Island Aug. 15th-22nd
Hard Rock Hotel Aug. 22-24th
Beach Club CL Aug. 24-29th:beach:

DH says it'll change to all Universal...ummmm NO. Not a chance. This is a gift to them...a day at US/IoA....that's it....bright and early Sunday it's time for Disney pixiedust:

Pas, are we still at the beach, Universal and BC CL? I'm slipping a bit with all your changes. :goodvibes And so it's the Grand in 201_??
No BFF, you're on it :thumbsup2

I would LOVE to do that tea party but DH is very leary of the price. I had heard there was a different one with Alice and the Mad Hatter... I think it's only an hour long. Going to need to get my Google on! Maybe can convince DH to do the other one when both girls are old enough to enjoy it.
I think the afternoon tea is what you're thinking of, but I don't think there are characters there...would be a nice Mommy daughter activity nonetheless..very fancy :goodvibes

:wave2: hello & hugs to everyone! Haven't been around much, busy around here.
:yay:this time next Friday, I'll be in my hotel room in Seattle, after having dinner at Cheesecake Factory :goodvibes hopefully getting a good night sleep for our very early flight to FLL Saturday morning. Have to be at SeaTac by 5:00am so up at 4:00 AM  good thing hotel is only 15 min from airport, and no traffic at THAT hour!
:cool1: Safe travels!!!!

Contemplating adding a day or two on our June trip. Of course I haven't mentioned this to DH, as he's not going to be overly excited :upsidedow Waiting for just the right time to bring it up

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
Heather
:rotfl2: What's an extra night....HAHA Good luck with DH :wizard:

So I'm still dancing around the idea of changing from our standard view at RPC at GF to RPC theme park view. I think I've mostly decided to do it, but I'm kind of stalling because I think this is likely my last change to make for this trip, and it's still basically a year away!! How will I survive if there are no more changes?? Anyone else put off a change for that reason?? ;-)
I am too obsessive to put off a change...I am always afraid availability may change

What about switching to the deluxe rooms in RPC? The extra space is nice too. I recently stayed in my first RPC and spent much of our time in the lounge areas but when in our room we loved the extra space of deluxe king. Check out K&A&C'S mom pics on 1st page of gf thread.
:thumbsup2

Yes they would. Now we just have to see what the budget will allow. The more pictures I see of the BWI, the more I want to stay there.

Sounds like you've picked...and forgive me..I think I missed wishing you a :bday: :headache: Sorry

 Thanks Jen! Common theme...we are all so very busy :grouphug: Disney soon and the cruise for you!!!!!!!:hyper:

another :grouphug: to our RCers I am thinking of often sis, Melissa, Sheila, Christine, Kook, and I was wondering.....step (was she going to WDW this summer)

Hi friends!!!:wave2:

I love reading and following everyone's changes and plans. Sorry I haven't had much time to post.

A few comments (and I am sure I am missing tons of stuff so forgive me)

Miss - Is this a surprise bday trip? I love the VN ADR. Pizza and beer from VN is my favorite meal of all time. So simple yet so perfect! If you want gelato for dessert - try the new spot in France. It's delicious! I had the salted carmel - OMG :worship:

Candance - saw the stock on FB, LOVE it! I can't believe you haven't changed in 2 months. Is this a record? :goodvibes

Jen - OMG - love love love the new cruise plan! :beach: So which ship did you sail before? We leave for ours very soon. They just released those discounts for our dates too.

Janet - I don't know how you keep the first post up to date with the all the changes here! LOL. I need to click on it more often so I can keep up to date with who is going next :thumbsup2

Pas - love the beach, US, WDW combo. Sounds like the perfect trip to me. Seems like hubby isn't convinced you are done changing though :lmao: Stand strong, don't give up your WDW part pixiedust: And what is this about not having seen F!??? You need to put that on your list - its so so so so so good!!!:lovestruc Congrats on the 4 lb weight loss and the new job.

Wook -my dd loves that red velvet cheesecake too. It's her absolute favorite. I think it is just ok. I would rather have the banana or the vanilla bean. As far as BWI - that clown pool is not creep at all. We loved the pool area there. It is big with lots of places to sit - both loungers and small tables with umbrellas. I like to sit in the shade so I appreciated having options where I could still see the pool. And you are right, the Boardwalk is a blast.

Big huge hello to everyone else :wave2: Thinking about you guys. Trying to get myself organized before our trip in less than 3 weeks. I just received notice that dh's passport is on its way (and the passports for the kids). So I can quit stressing over that little detail. I need to make some magnents for our door. I also need to lose some weight! Oops - i probably should've started sooner on that one!:faint:

Beautiful picture!!

Wookie - Behind the Seeds tour is a :thumbsup2 Even DD loved it and she was only 4 or 5 at the time. TONS of interesting information!

To anyone I've missed
Hope everyone has a magical day!!!
Heather

It sounds like it's a lot of fun. Plus, I love that I can take pictures while on the tour.

Wookie, well we didn't get to see Frozen instead we opted for Catching Fire as DH wanted to see it (second time for me and fifth for Sam.. can you tell we are huge Hunger Game fans? :goodvibes ) Hopefully we'll be able to see Frozen in 3D this week.

I really enjoyed Catching Fire. The only thing I didn't like about it, was watching one of my least favorite scenes in the books. When they beat and take Cinna away. He's my favorite character in the series.

Congrats on the weight loss and the new job. Your trip sounds like a great one. If the DH suggests that again, you can do what I do to my DH in situations like that. I grab his hand, make sure the back of his hand is facing up, slap it while saying, "no, no, bad, bad". He's usually so shocked that I did it that he's quiet, and then I tell him that as long as he's talking nonsense I cannot possibly hold a conversation with him. :lmao:

Sounds like you've picked...

I just keep price checking different options. Last night I did price checks for BLT and the Villas at the GF.

...and forgive me..I think I missed wishing you a :bday: :headache: Sorry

Wookie a belated happy birthday to you and your DS!

Jen

Thank you both. :grouphug:
No worries pas, I have never been one that when it's getting close to my birthday, to remind everyone how much closer it is to my birthday.

The boys and I have the day off today, but the DH is at work. We went with the in laws yesterday to see the movie Lone Survivor. Just a suggestion....don't see it in an eat in movie theater. I'm still trying to get over this crud, and between that and eating, my tummy didn't feel so great at several points. I thought I cried a lot in Saving Mr. Banks, but that was nothing compared to how much I did in this movie, especially at the end. It was a really well made movie though.

I don't think I have ever had the banana or the vanilla bean. I do like the Godiva chocolate one, but it's just too much chocolate for me.
I honestly didn't have a problem with the clown pool, until the DH planted it in my head. I don't have a blanket fear of clowns, it's more a situation thing. Like clowns at a circus, kids birthday party, or a celebration don't bother me. A clown just randomly walking down the street, especially late at night, now that scares me, or if one were to just randomly, for no reason, show up at my house. Now mines, they scare the heck out of me. I'm not sure why.

That would be awesome!! Poly is one of the resorts that my friend really wants to stay at.

It was our #1 choice for this years trip but with the construction and pool being closed, we decided against it. I've been keeping close tabs on it but now I feel like the pool is going to end up being open....I don't really care about the DVC construction, that doesn't bother me....but I neeeeed to have the pool open.

Be strong and hold fast to the beautiful GF!!! You can do this.

I will tell ya, when we were there in December (very quick weekend trip...last minute) we went over to the Poly twice so I could get my fix ;) However....I didn't like looking at all that construction. It took something away from it, especially the beach area. Of course this is JMO....DH said it didn't bother him a bit :upsidedow The GF on the other hand...... :coffee: :teeth: just beautiful as ever.

I know.....I visited both in October and the GF was gorgeous and became my #1 backup plan.

But the Poly......:upsidedow

I was so strong up until now

I know we want to have pool time as well. The pool being closed was what had kept the Poly off our short list.

Has anyone been to the Luau at the Poly? We are thinking about going to it one night. Does anyone know if the category you book really makes that much of a difference is how well you can see the show?

I know it was not mention but I vote for BWI CL for you guys! The pool slide was soooo much fun, a wee bit better than the Poly pool. :duck: It was bigger overall too. Just my opinion! :rolleyes1
