Sheila, so sorry I missed your send off! Have a fabulous time!

Dani and Pas, big you are both strong, wonderful moms. And we are definitely getting together soon for some adult time

Miss, I believe you said it best, everyone on our Dis home is so supportive and simply the best! I appreciate having you all in my life.

Sam has been very busy with band with competitions every weekend. Yesterday was a local competition and they placed first in their division (out of 5 bands) and won on the overall points as well. a very good day! The kids performed well and have been improving every week. So wonderful to see their progress.

So far the trip is going as planned. We arrived yesterday to be greeted at ME by the nicest CM who completed our checkin telling us we been upgraded to a Savannah View (sunset) and my request for near lobby was granted a room on the same floor as the lobby (3) with a view What could be better than that?

We have seen Zebras, Girafes, East African crowned cranes, ostrich, Gazelle and Ankole cattle from our balcony

Lunch at the Mara and Dinner at Boma the we toured the grounds it was dark but could still see the animals the guides are AAA+

The CM's here are the best ever . We both love this resort and my worries that Bob might be disappointed were for not as he loves the quietness of sitting on the balcony watching the animals.

We stopped in the store and looked around but only thing we bought was a postcard will go back again for sure I saw tons of stuff I want

Today we have breakfast @ Boma then it is off to Epcot and F&W then dinner at Via Napoli

Lunch at the Mara and Dinner at Boma the we toured the grounds it was dark but could still see the animals the guides are AAA+

And I thought I was a planner... so glad to see someone else looking toward '16!!! I have our trip next year, trip with MY family in '15, and trip with DH's family in '16. The '15 trip is non-Disney resort (Hilton on property) but since my wonderful dad is paying, I can't complain!!! BUT, the '16 trip is up to me too coordinate... and I have one room of non-Mouse people, so it's going to be grrrrrreat.

As for the trip next year, I keep glancing across the lake and eying the Poly. Construction or no, it would make a stroller easy. Hmmmmm.....

Ha Ha!! I think deep down we are all planners like this, but don't want to admit it! And yes the Poly makes the stroller issue such a non issue. But I have to say we experienced long long waits for buses at the Poly. Once we waited about 1 hr and a bit for the AKL bus.

Ladies I am mathematically challenged today, if we are checking in on May 8, 2014 when is our ADR day?? Is it Nov 11? Also should I be making a resort reservation to be able to make the adr's earlier or is that the earliest I would be able to make them anyway?

If we don't have a reservation at a resort do I have to make an ADR everyday?

I am having some issues today apparently.

Succumbed to the crushing pressure of the RPC....I just can't justify the cost in my head, no matter what I factor in. $600+ night (incl. tax) (and with 40% off at value season) is just I can't wrap my mind around it...especially when my kids won't be wowed by it...they were asking for AOA

Jeanette we love WL too. There are so many hidden nooks around that resort to explore! I even find the boat horns in the distance relaxing!
We had WL in our sights for January trip, but rates have skyrocketed there since the room refurb. Since we go twice a year, Jan/Aug, our January trips are more budgeted, not as much time to save from Late August-Sept to January
Even with a discount woods view was well over $200 for January, ugh.
So we booked POFQ. Good thing we love both POR resorts.

We have Poly in our sights for August. But I think the DVC will ruin Poly, so that may be our last Poly stay. At least the GF DVC was built past the GF, so really has little impact on the GF grounds, while at Poly they are turning 2 longhouses into DVC, building docks, and putting up those bungalows on the water and wrecking once nice views from the beach. Bleck. The DVC there will have a huge impact on our beloved Poly. Ugh. I wish they would have put the DVC by Luau Cove where it wouldn't wreck the Poly grounds!!
Just my opinion(rant) lol!

That's exactly why I haven't changed from Poly, Sue! When we stayed at GF the walls just went up on the beach, so construction wasin its early phases and not intrusive at all. But I think the plans will affect the Poly vibe overall..there's so many excellent other options...and WL is so dreamy

I hope everyone is doing well this weekend! I've been hanging out with my mother talking about wedding stuff and looking at dresses for my sister. I was so surprised that she handled trying on dresses so well. She has aspergers so I know she has a hard time dealing with social outings n' all that so I was really happy and proud of her. She even liked a couple of dresses! It was pretty successful! I ended up finding a style of dress that I never would have thought to have her try on if it weren't for her. She was a little upset that we didn't really like the one she liked the best, but I'm sure I will find perfect bridesmaid dress for her.

But, Kind of glad I did because it led me to a revelation.

The revelation is that GF is absolutely where I want to be...but at a price I am happy with (I am happy with Sugarloaf price).

Basically, the first CM I called, I had planned to move back to Sugarloaf. She spoke very fast and promptly told me that it was not available.

But, then I asked about AKL CL, WL CL and CR CL...all not available. I expressed my skepticism since all of those were available yesterday and she was just very quick to tell me I had a nice room, I should just keep it???

I asked about BC and BWI, and then decided on BWI CL. change made, but I was not happy about BWI...

I sat and stewed upon that for a few minutes before calling back to speak to someone else...and wouldn't ya know...all of those that I checked on were available...

I snatched up my Sugarloaf again.

But, clearly that 1st CM just wanted the most expensive room to remain booked...but if it weren't for her shenanigans, I wouldn't have had the heart sinking feel of losing my Sugarloaf reservation which is so right in so many ways.

So, think about the reservation you wouldn't want to lose, and that's the one.

Hi Sheila!! So happy to hear from you and glad you are both happy at our beautiful AKL! I LOVE AKL -- it was my first Disney resort and nothing else has ever quite measured up... I hope to get back there with the family and stay at Kidani.

Lovin' Sheila's check in with us! So happy for you guys and your upgrade. There's just something so relaxing and lovely about AKL.

Thanks for all the compliments on the pictures and Miss M. I still haven't quite caught up on the laundry situation with getting back so late, then Halloween and not really wanting to bother over the weekend. Then I forgot to post my thoughts on BWI. The short version: Loved the location but we reeeeeally missed SAB. We only swam once and the whole time I found myself missing the lazy river (that deep bit, love it.) Miss M did go down the slide and said it was fun. Anyway, I think I can say -- without question -- that we're certified (or is that certifiable?) BC folks. (Well, with a smidge of AKL thrown in to mix it up.)

During all the forgetting, I also forgot to take a picture of the Sarah Milkshake we had on the last day! Oh, was it ever yummmmmy -- a peanut butter chocolate extravaganza from Beaches & Cream.

Hiya all!! Sorry haven;t been keeping up with everyone like I would want to. Just had a heck of a bedtime with DD9. Man that girls emotions are going up and down like a roller coaster. And she doesn;t even know why.

Although tonight was a bit of a doozy, I had to have some "words" with her guiding leaders, she was at a horse riding camp all weekend which was great, but ended with her being falsely accused of bullying of all people "her best friend" So needless to say we didn't get to hear her pride at riding horses for the first time, but rather her tears all the way home about the situation.

I understand everyone is hyper sensitive and aware about bullying nowadays. I get it. But adults going overboard about it and accusing girls who wrote silly notes to eachother at camp saying "you are stinky like poo" are really losing their grip on reality. DD9 was sat down and berated. Not cool, let's just say Mama Bear came out to play tonight.

So it all may have been too much for my darling. Sigh vacation where are you??? Come quicker!!
