Our little thread of BIG changes, the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

Posting from the gym....eek, ugh, sigh. I know I said a while ago I was going to lose the weight, yeah never started, lol.

Lacey - I love all you upcoming plans. We totally love cruising! We have done a Disney Cruise yet, but that could change in 2014 ;)

Jen - HUGS!!

Candace - I LOVE CR!!! But I honestly don't this one will stick either ;)

Dmingal - the cost of CR is hard to swallow and I agree wait until the kids can truly enjoy it. Watching wishes from our balcony was priceless and something my kids will says remember.

Miss - oh the dreaded Target, waiting for my extra 5% pharmacy rewards to come in the mail before I head over there this week. Need to do some MAJOR Hanukkah shopping!

Shelia - sorry Bob is being such a PITA :( hopefully today is a better day. HUGS!!

Hello to everyone I am missing!!! HUGS all round :)

:lmao: Let me know how it is! They really should just have a guy waiting at the door in Target who you can hand all of your money to -- would make it a much quicker shopping experience. :rotfl2:

I just wasted a buncha dosh this weekend an Easy Bake Oven and one of those new fancy Nerf Bows. Thanks a LOT, Cartwheel. :rolleyes2

IDK if you've played other CoD games, but the multiplayer is way different in this one and so far I really like it, but I only played 2 rounds before getting annoyed with my kids interfering in my gaming time (hello? it's 9 go to bed you little beasts! lol) and then I ended up passing out when I put the kids to bed. All I know is I got to play in a flippin' castle and it was epic....And I spent another $103. Target opening close to my job is the worst thing that EVER happened to my life.

What a super fab bunch you ladies are. Thanks for the support.:grouphug: DD9 knows she has done nothing wrong but now has to figure out if she wants to remain in that unit. :guilty: Why that lady had to to wreck it for her I don't understand.

Jen

Jen I wanted to touch on this yesterday but I was posting from work. I think it was ridiculous to consider this bullying. I think some schools are over sensitive to it, and some aren't doing enough. The schools here in Staten Island are horrible at it. My son was bullied the last 2 years and no one did ANYTHING about it, so when Danimal started standing up for himself and saying things back then HE got in trouble. How does that even make sense? I have been up to school countless times about it, but no one listens nor do they care. I told them until they step in and do something about it then my son has been given my blessing to defend himself. They don't like this but my son won't be someone's easy target either.

Hello all! :flower3: Hope everyone's week is moving well.

Eldest DD seems to have brought a cold home with her report card and I feel it slowly creeping through the house... Trying to make a buffer between her and our LO - it's harder than herding cats!

sjs - Noooo, don't tease the bull! *~* AK... so pretty... hmmmmmm *~*

jenny - I can totally sympathize! I work for our local school district and have worked as a counselor for teens with the Navy. It is so hard to balance the bullying line... often times we are forced to play the bully card for nothing and the truth is most bullying goes on out of the sight of teachers. I hope your DD doesn't let this get her down!

THIS!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Was on the phone with a CM and just about to commit to CR but I just can't justify the cost in my head. And DD just isn't excited about how CR looks - she loves the look of WL down to the playground by the beach.
She has also mentioned she's interested in AKL but DH and I decided to wait and see how the LO starts to respond to animals. Since there is usually availability at AKL, we figure as Peanut gets older, it might be worth considering a Savannah room so she can watch the animals from the balcony. Our oldest was OBSESSED with aquariums from 9 months, so we'll see how it goes. I would be willing to lug a stroller on the busses if it seemed like both girls could enjoy the savannah.:simba:
On a side note, good family friends are at WDW right now and LOVING IT! They're at the Poly and have been having a ball. It's first visit for most of them and I love seeing the pics pop up on Facebook... livin' vicariously!.:dance3:
I have CR-phobia lol. I want to stay there but I can't actually book it. My DS said it best, "It's just a hotel with a pool. It isn't like an actual resort." :thumbsup2
jenny winding you a big :hug: I hope things get better for DD
CandanceBob and I talked about still wanting to stay at CR and how every time I book there I end up changeing to somewhere else.
I like the newest RC:thumbsup2
So we had lunch at Sanna yesterday and all I can say delicious ! Our server was the Best!
MK did not go so well, Bob did not want to go on the rides I had FP+ for He can be a real PIA and B-O-R-E :rotfl2:
Dinner at LTT was good, Bob was happy with his 2 platters of meat
We went up to TT for the dessert party and he says "why did you book this again?"
Huh ? really ? Beacause you said you liked watching the Fireworks from there last year
Long story short we left and came back to the resort before the DP started.
AnywayI cancelled breakfast this morning and I may cancel the plans for the day He was up again all night I guess as he is still sleeping but today I am not even trying to wake him. Yesterday I finally got him up at 10:30 and lunch at Sanna was at 11:30.
Today is suppose to be a DHS with his picks of MM and Sci-Fi I honestly could care less about either one :rotfl:
Sorry for the vent but Bob gets me so mad I could Kill him. Between his memory and behavior I could just kill him!
Have a great Day Everyone :)
Oh my goodness, Sheila. Men can be such a PITA!!!
Get it girlfriend! I'm about to eat mac and cheese for breakfast. :rotfl:
Hope your eye dr appointment goes well.
Yes, I could walk over to POR pool, but walking back in January with damp bathing suits if we swim or hot tub is just too long a walk being chilly I'd rather be close to a pool. And we love the mansion section of POR too.
That makes total sense Sue. And POR looks so darn pretty!!!
The eye doctor was soooo much fun, that's why its been 4-5 years since me last exam. So I have a cataract (kinda figured as much) and my vision stinks. He mentioned that I should really be driving with glasses. So I am going to pick out some cool specs on Friday (payday) DS5 needs new ones too...but I am waiting for him to break his current pair..which he will :rolleyes2
I haven't hit 40 yet, and I'm getting all these lovely signs of aging :sad: On a positive note. I lost another 1.4 lbs this week:thumbsup2
I'm sitting at my desk giggling at this
Have a fab anniversary and cruise Deena :hug:
Oh Sheila, you know better than to talk about how awesome a resort is...especially to a group of resort changers!!!
So very true :rotfl2:
Oh of course the school just called.....Steven isn't feeling well and I have an conference with Sarah's teacher in an hour. Begged him to try to make it for a bit longer. Gotta run to try to figure out how to deal with all this and the appts we have this afternoon with the ped and the psych. Never a dull day
Melissa
When do we get a sick day from being a mommy :hug: Hope it all worked out Melissa :drive:
Hey everyone. Checking in from work. Yesterday was Daniel's psych and then we went shopping in jersey. Another $300 at Target. How?! I don't even understand. I have to go to Target again to pick up the new Call of Duty. I'm such a nerd lol
I love you my nerd sis...Did you go to the Menlo Target??? Only asking because my eye Dr. is by Rainforest Café in Menlo Mall..oh that was Monday, right??? What day is it :rotfl2: I was chatting with one of DS5's classmates mom who was saying last year during Sandy they picked up and went to WDW....I SO want to do that right now ::yes::
Let me know how it is! They really should just have a guy waiting at the door in Target who you can hand all of your money to -- would make it a much quicker shopping experience. :rotfl2:
I just wasted a buncha dosh this weekend an Easy Bake Oven and one of those new fancy Nerf Bows. Thanks a LOT, Cartwheel. :rolleyes2
:rotfl: I won't even mention how much $$$ I've spend online so far :faint:
Well last night I booked southwest for February!! But that's all I have booked. I found a 3 night cruise that fits perfectly into the weekend!
Nice!!!
I can't believe how much we loved WL. so much so, I'm trying to figure out which kid to leave at home so I can go back Bwaaahahaha.
:rotfl2: You sound like me!!
What a super fab bunch you ladies are. Thanks for the support. DD9 knows she has done nothing wrong but now has to figure out if she wants to remain in that unit. :guilty: Why that lady had to to wreck it for her I don't understand.
AKL is on my radar too now :lmao: Glad your friends are enjoying Poly. My DH was looking at pics, and was completely disgusted to the changes. He said they are squishing too much into the monorail area...so we know another resort is being placed on the Do not stay at list:crowded:
For the record, we are at CR Atrium Club TPV prior to our cruise!!!!
Sweet, but you aren't done until you change back to the generic ticker :goodvibes
Sounds like my DH, maybe that's why they get along so well...:rotfl:
Sis I agree with Brian. Wayyyyy too much crowding on the monorail. They need to stop lumping the three together on buses now. Enough is enough. I don't pay top dollar to be herded like cattle. Even the All Stars get their own buses at peak hours, time to do the same for the monorail resorts.
Monday we were in Linden. The Menlo Target makes me mad lol. How can you be directly across from Nordstrom, but be such a slum? :confused:
Brian totally makes a good argument, as do you!! That's why I changed back to WL, I really want peace and quiet, and a happy family of course. The Menlo Target used to be SO nice (when it was the 1st in the area). My DMIL works in the one at Watchung. So we have the hookup :upsidedow They really screw with her (trying to force her out due to age she thinks...makes me think of how they ganged up on Hannah ...my MIL's name is Hanna...hmmm). :offtopic: I keep thinking I need to cross that Bayonne Bridge and come kidnap you sis!!! ALas, back on topic...DH said a Poly stay is probably not a good idea next year :sad:
Slow start today. :coffee: Hope everyone is well!
For the record, we are at CR Atrium Club TPV prior to our cruise!!!! :cool1:
Have to share.....I just found a beautiful picture of the TPV at night with the castle lit up at night...I showed DD9 (who doesn't really care if the castle is outside the window, and who regularly makes fun of my crying episodes at Disney...). She looked at the picture and turned her face away very quickly...I asked what?? And she was a wee bit tears and said the castle looks so pretty, that would be the best night light! :love:
Awwww, yay! Great story!!! Changes like that are always uplifting!
So we had lunch at Sanna yesterday and all I can say delicious ! Our server was the Best!
Have a great Day Everyone :)
:guilty: Boooo Sorry he's such a Disney Downer! :flower3: DH was like that our first few stays - b/c he was in training, we didn't get a honeymoon, so when we moved to FL later our first year, we got APs. The first two trips he was just a grump!!! We stayed at some cheap dive off I-Drive, he wouldn't ride the 'kiddy' rides. Then, we went on the Yuletide Tour (which I drug him on) and he was beyond amazed with the behind-the-scenes stuff. It wasn't until we did the EE Sneak Peek and he saw the engineering side of stuff that he started to get into it.
He should've known: I had told him "You knew what I was when you married me... you go outdoor hunting, I go Mouse hunting."
Dmingal - the cost of CR is hard to swallow and I agree wait until the kids can truly enjoy it. Watching wishes from our balcony was priceless and something my kids will says remember.
It's so hard: I have a Disney bucket list but I want to make sure I'm doing the 'must do' for the family, not just for me. We had the chance to do Club 33 when we lived in California and DD still remembers dancing on the balcony above New Orleans Square... so we will wait on CR and AKL until both girls are old enough to save those happy memories.
I have CR-phobia lol. I want to stay there but I can't actually book it. My DS said it best, "It's just a hotel with a pool. It isn't like an actual resort." :thumbsup2
That's honestly my real holdback on CR. I like the THEORY of it, but it's just a little too 'hotel' and not as 'Disney' as I would want. As DH has said, looking at photos, "CR looks like a more modern SoG, but for 5x the price."
*Considers* Maybe when the girls are older and aren't looking for that total 'immersive' experience: oldest DD LOVED the Royal Room at POR last year, but I can see her being a pre-teen and wanting something a little less 'princessy'... and then seeing the castle outside and turning into a kid again. :goodvibes
T
Part of me wishes I had stayed at the Poly while it was still in its 'original' form... but (as bad as this sounds) now it really will feel more like Hawaii - built up beyond belief and busy, busy.
Dani I hear you on the "not a resort" thing....but...all the more reason to do this now, for a 5 night trip, since I am thinking we wouldn't want 10 nights there....remember, CR was our original booking (and we held onto it for a LONG time before the initial change) but my concern was over being there for so long (and DH is a no split stay type of guy).
5 nights is perfect. Plus, we only want a Hoop de Doo ADR....boat ride away. We will also have to activate our military tickets...we can walk right over to guest services on our arrival day and do that before going into parks. Perfect!
We can watch Wishes from our balcony on our arrival night since we aren't going into the parks. Perfect!
The kids will LOVE the arcade at CR.
Perfect reservation for this situation.
We'll save GF for one of our regular 10 nighters. I could see us doing 10 nights there. But, we could end up LOVING CR, who knows??? :upsidedow
We LOVEEEE the CR arcade. Also CR is first bus stop to/from the parks. It definitely has its perks. I like the rooms also, but I'd like them more if they had a few more Disney touches, especially being the original resort.
Oh also the Fantasia gift shop. If I had to create a graph of time spent in different stores in Disney, that one would would have most of the time lol. Daniel loves it.
That is why DH loves Poly...the tropical serenity...and he loves the seclusion of WL. I have to say, I am a huge fan of the CR Bay lake view :beach: then with CL you get the castle. And BLT is amazing....:upsidedow maybe I will price that out...just to do it ;) Because I have to stay with Candace in August ...it is still August right:rolleyes:
You know Candace....when you put it that way...I like it, it may stick. We usually go full circle...multiple times :rotfl2:
I think that's why I like BLT rooms more than CR. BUT the girls think the snack room there looks neat :flower3:
Heya lovely ladies... :grouphug:
Sheila: So sorry that he's rainin' on your parade. :hug: Blah about the dessert party. :sad: Shame I'm not down there, I'd go ride the rides with you (unless it was Mission Space Orange :faint: ) We really need to plan an RC only trip one of these years.
To Those Who Will Remain Unnamed: Good thing I turned the signatures back on this computer, I'd NEVER be able to keep up with wherever you folks are currently booked. :laughing:
Melissa: So they have to mail you the 5%? I should really get our prescriptions switched over but our Walgreens is just right up the street from our house. :scratchin
Dani: I'm gonna have to go look it up. We mainly stick to split-screen co-op stuff (like Borderlands 1&2) because we're too cheap to pay for Live because I spend all our money at Target. :rotfl:
Jen: I need to go watch that trailer! :scared:
Jeanette: I don't even WANT to know! :rotfl: My head spins when I think about all the stuff we've got already stashed away. Then the "Maybe One More Thing" monster rears its ugly head -- or the other monster called, "WHOA, LOOK at THAT SALE PRICE!." Every. Single. Time. Hubs and I have decided that we'll not be getting anything for each other this year. (I seem to recall we've done that before though -- unsuccessfully. :rolleyes2 )
===========
I'm a tad miffed about the BB coming out two days after we left. :rolleyes2 Oh well. Cookies crumbling and all that.
I'd be pretty :crazy2: too about the BB. That happened to DH and I when we went in the beginning of November:confused3
Ahhhh yes, the "one more thing Gremlin" he is full of absolute trickery I tell you! :rolleyes2 Because, Santa has to give even piles of presents..one more thing turns into 5 more things...and so on. Speaking of Santas, my brown Santa is looking good this year (as always), and still wearing shorts :goodvibes
Can you please tell me what the current BB is? :wave2:
Decided to take the day off. Having breakfast and going to do some laundry, grading, and most importantly writing today! It's NaNoWriMo and I've hardly even started my 50,000 words and it's already a week into it! :-). Have a great day ladies!!
Does anyone else hide in the bathroom at work to get a break or is it just me? :rolleyes1
HAHAHAHAH!! :lmao::wave2:I have been working full time the past two and weeks and would quite frequently pop into the bathroom and catch up on my iphone!! Glad I am not the only one Dani.
Dani & jenny Bad Girls, Bad Girls .......What we gonna do with you? :rotfl2:
Oh I forgot!!
ONE WEEK TO GO!!!:dance3::yay::cheer2::cool1:
:cool1: :banana:
Wish I was posting 1 Week to go instead of Last Day here :sad:
I switched our days around and we went to AK yesterday instead of today which worked out better.
Saw the Jingle Jingle Parade! The big tree out front was up :) We skipped AK last year so it was nice seeing the Christmas stuff there this year.
We are suppose to go over to Epcot this morning after dropping our bags off at RAC but .......BIG BUT.............Bob is still snorting away. Mr I Can't sleep picks today to go into a coma :crazy2:
I just cancelled our "last day" Boma breakfast no way we are gonna make that and I am thinking we might not even make it over To Epcot for our Via Napoli lunch :furious:
The BB is FD 8/20-9/29 no good for us unfortunately as it is too hot
The MB have been great and only used one of the FP+ as it was not busy at all. Jersey Week is nothing to be scared of at all.
Can't wait to come back we are considering AKL CL maybe but who knows:confused3 I am just loving AKL more even more than last time I stayed here.
Have a great Day all !
Hello all! Happy Friday!
Yay to those closing in on their trips, *sighs* to those ending their trips.
At doctor with oldest to check the cold that will not go away... this child ALWAYS gets sick over a long weekend. *shakes head*
How does BB offer work? Do you really have to have stayed? Those are our dates next year... if nothing else, at least it looks like there will be FD next year again! We are pricing out a MOD with FD just as a possibility... saves $$$ but I go back and forth about the ahappiness quotient`
If anyone needs a reason to be thankful: I am sending a care package of toys to friends today. They were in process of moving after getting out of military when the moving truck caught fire en route! Lost everything save for the photos/computer/safe they had with them. My friend is staying super positive about it all-focusing on the awesome shopping spree coming up. I told her sounds like the perfect time for a Disney trip while everything is sorted out.
