Our little thread of BIG changes, the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

:goodvibes

The revelation is that GF is absolutely where I want to be...but at a price I am happy with (I am happy with Sugarloaf price).

Basically, the first CM I called, I had planned to move back to Sugarloaf. She spoke very fast and promptly told me that it was not available.

But, then I asked about AKL CL, WL CL and CR CL...all not available. I expressed my skepticism since all of those were available yesterday and she was just very quick to tell me I had a nice room, I should just keep it??? :confused3

I asked about BC and BWI, and then decided on BWI CL. change made, but I was not happy about BWI...:crazy2:

I sat and stewed upon that for a few minutes before calling back to speak to someone else...and wouldn't ya know...all of those that I checked on were available...:scratchin

I snatched up my Sugarloaf again. :goodvibes

But, clearly that 1st CM just wanted the most expensive room to remain booked...but if it weren't for her shenanigans, I wouldn't have had the heart sinking feel of losing my Sugarloaf reservation which is so right in so many ways.

So, think about the reservation you wouldn't want to lose, and that's the one. :goodvibes
Congrats on Sugarloaf. As for that CM :faint: ugh. I hope you stayed on for the survey. Now when I speak with someone, I jot down the name and time of call. That is so wrong, giving you false info. I'd be inclined to phone and ask to speak with a supervisor.

So far the trip is going as planned. We arrived yesterday to be greeted at ME by the nicest CM who completed our checkin telling us we been upgraded to a Savannah View (sunset) and my request for near lobby was granted a room on the same floor as the lobby (3) with a view What could be better than that?

We have seen Zebras, Girafes, East African crowned cranes, ostrich, Gazelle and Ankole cattle from our balcony:yay:

Lunch at the Mara and Dinner at Boma the we toured the grounds it was dark but could still see the animals the guides are AAA+

The CM's here are the best ever . We both love this resort and my worries that Bob might be disappointed were for not as he loves the quietness of sitting on the balcony watching the animals.

We stopped in the store and looked around but only thing we bought was a postcard will go back again for sure I saw tons of stuff I want :)

Today we have breakfast @ Boma then it is off to Epcot and F&W then dinner at Via Napoli

As Mickey would say........

See You Real Soon !

So glad you are enjoying AKL. Try and catch one of the Cultural Exchange talks while you're there. They are great. Congrats on your pixiedust:

Ch ch changes :rolleyes2 I just found out the POFQ pool will be closed Jan/Feb  ok, well I know, I am Canadian :rotfl: but if it's warm out, and some Jan trips afternoons can get up to high 70s, low 80s, i do enjoy a mid afternoon dip, but mostly a mud afternoon break lounging at the pool, enjoying the sunshine, and warmth!!
Marie can attest to the wet, gray Vancouver winter!!!

Sooooo, I think I'll move to POR. ::yes::

:lmao: about France! Phew... glad we didn't book ASmu, what is making you not a fan Magic??
You know, overall I guess we just didnt like the layout and most exteriors We thought the Broadway was the cutest section, but didn't like. Calypso, Country or Rock (is Rock pink????) looks of the exteriors. ASspo is just so amazing to look at that ASmu was a letdown. Also CMs werent so magical at ASmu, when we remember both ASsp and ASmo as well as POP having exceptional service.Oh and not one hidden mickey in the Value rooms now is so sad.

:rotfl2: She was checking out my beef (or Boeuf as they pronounce it in France).... then realized it was me :rotfl: Glad I got to see you before the RAIN!! Hope you had a good time!! ... LOOK AT MY TICKER!!!
Deena, oh how I wish the Tag Fairy was still flying around these parts. She was checking out my beef! lol but so true. Giving DH a F&W primer with you as my subject. We had fun. And then we went to MK after Epcot til 1 am to work off all that yummy food. Have a wonderful time on the high seas, Deena!

I am sorry to hear you had a bad experience with a CM. I've had a recent jaw-dropper of a CM encounter as well. I'd swear I was in the Twilight Zone. Maybe it was the same CM. So sad.

I understand everyone is hyper sensitive and aware about bullying nowadays. I get it. But adults going overboard about it and accusing girls who wrote silly notes to eachother at camp saying "you are stinky like poo" are really losing their grip on reality. DD9 was sat down and berated. Not cool, let's just say Mama Bear came out to play tonight.
I agree Jen. My opinion only but: too much, too often, too sensitive. Kids need to learn conflict resolution themselves... and adults need to remember the difference between "kid stuff" and "crisis".

Ooops Sheila, me and my ipad are not always good playmates! Anyway, I am so glad you and Bob are enjoying AKL. And what a awesome upgrade you god. Yay!!!! Enjoy your time and I can't wait til you check in again!

For 2 seconds....now its back to Sugarloaf. I am not giving up the GF...and BTW, had a total sheister of a CM on my first call
:rotfl2: And luckily those CMs are few and far between. I do the survey, and if it is really bad (depends on attitude , really) I do the email survey. Congrats on the switch back to SL:)

Ginny:hug: Good luck with the new phone!

DH keeps saying "just keep WL and be done with it"...

As for bad CMs, there have been a couple that I want to *BAP* through the phone.
Listen to DH (for now until CR becomes available with the Military rate:flower3:) We should install reverse zappers to give them a "jolt" when they are less than magical. :mic:

Hi Sheila!! So happy to hear from you and glad you are both happy at our beautiful AKL! I LOVE AKL -- it was my first Disney resort and nothing else has ever quite measured up... I hope to get back there with the family and stay at Kidani.
Enjoy every minute with Bob. So excited to hear about your trip when you have time to check in with us!
I am in love with AKL too! It is really an amazing resort!

Lovin' Sheila's check in with us! :worship: So happy for you guys and your upgrade. There's just something so relaxing and lovely about AKL.

Thanks for all the compliments on the pictures and Miss M. :grouphug: I still haven't quite caught up on the laundry situation with getting back so late, then Halloween and not really wanting to bother over the weekend. :rolleyes1 Then I forgot to post my thoughts on BWI. The short version: Loved the location but we reeeeeally missed SAB. ::yes:: We only swam once and the whole time I found myself missing the lazy river (that deep bit, love it.) Miss M did go down the slide and said it was fun. Anyway, I think I can say -- without question -- that we're certified (or is that certifiable?) BC folks. (Well, with a smidge of AKL thrown in to mix it up.)

During all the forgetting, I also forgot to take a picture of the Sarah Milkshake we had on the last day! Oh, was it ever yummmmmy -- a peanut butter chocolate extravaganza from Beaches & Cream. :goodvibes
That milkshake must have been divine..just like our Sarah

Hiya all!! Sorry haven;t been keeping up with everyone like I would want to. Just had a heck of a bedtime with DD9. Man that girls emotions are going up and down like a roller coaster. And she doesn;t even know why.

Although tonight was a bit of a doozy,:worried: I had to have some "words" with her guiding leaders, she was at a horse riding camp all weekend which was great, but ended with her being falsely accused of bullying of all people "her best friend" So needless to say we didn't get to hear her pride at riding horses for the first time, but rather her tears all the way home about the situation.

I understand everyone is hyper sensitive and aware about bullying nowadays. I get it. But adults going overboard about it and accusing girls who wrote silly notes to eachother at camp saying "you are stinky like poo" are really losing their grip on reality. So it all may have been too much for my darling. Sigh vacation where are you??? Come quicker!!

Waving hi to all, I am always here!!

Jen
 Sorry Jen that your DD had to go through that, some parents can be ridiculous...bullying...WAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY different. And you have experience with your younger DD..GRRRR now MY Mama Bear is coming out ...hang in there vacation is almost here!!!:goodvibes

If you really want to stay at POFQ you can pool hop to POR pool !!:upsidedow

That WOULD be an awesome tag :rotfl: Sorry you didn't like Music...we also had great CMs at Pop and All Stars..but we never did Music either. Overall...the CMs aren't what they used to be..they are still awesome...but they are not ALL aweome. To say I am nervous about our 3rd Poly checkin is an understatement. It will be late at night so maybe I won't care...but I better at least get lei'd this time...the 12 year old in me is cracking up right now..:rotfl2:

So as it stands I have 3 different reservations off prop for Dec. DH drove me a little insane yesterday but thankfully our fearless leader Jeanette was there to talk me off the edge and help to make some ch-ch-changes, LOL!

Shelia - can't wait to hear more about AKL! Sounds like it was a perfect choice and congrats on the upgrade!!!

Jen - oh boy, I would not have wanted to be on the opposite side of the conversation from you ;) I agree the bullying, which valid and an issue, is being taken way over the top and really doing more damage in some cases.

I'll be back in a few to try to catch up some more....gotta call the ped and try to get Sarah an appt. her ear is bothering her again :(

Yes, I could walk over to POR pool, but walking back in January with damp bathing suits if we swim or hot tub is just too long a walk being chilly :sad1: I'd rather be close to a pool. And we love the mansion section of POR too.

GM  Trying to read along and catch up but time is short to reply to everyone, so going to appoliguise (sp) in advance.

F&W was great until something I ate did not agree with me yesterday so we headed back tom AKL early and decided to skip Via Napoli. We had breakfast at Boma early 7:30am and it was as good as I remembered :) Major Yum!

Being back to the room early we caught feeding time for the animals and I got some great pictures. I'm love watching the Girafes and the baby zebra is so darn cute :goodvibes

This picture is off my iPhone since I've not downloaded any pics off my cameras yet but it gives a good idea of our view.

Having Lunch today a Sanaa then off to MK, LTT for dinner and the the Dessert Party for Wishes.

Hope everyone has a wonderful RC day and if you have never stayed at AKL think about it cause it is the most Magical Place of all! You will not be sorry

:flower3:

I do think the bullying thing is taken too far a lot of the time. Kids are kids and teasing goes back to the beginning of time. Personally, I believe that we are doing our kids a disservice by not teaching them conflict resolution skills, etc....I'm not saying that a kid has the right to beat on another...physical violence is never ok...but some of these silly situations that are labeled as bullying are mind boggling.

Last night I got a call from our neighbor across the street. Her daughter and our oldest have literally been friends since they were 3 months old....the last few years we have noticed a lot more bickering etc...and yesterday her daughter went home and said that my DD was annoyed by her and mean and talking about her behind her back. I went back and forth with my neighbor via text trying to get the whole story from the kids and then we decided that was stupid...she came over, we talked to the girls and then put them in a room together and told them to work it out or just don't be friends, but we aren't going to fight their battles for them. 30 minutes later they came out of the room with a new choreographed dance number...:rotfl2: They also decided that they will be upfront with each other if they are feeling hurt. But they figured it out themselves. :thumbsup2

Congrats on Sugarloaf. As for that CM :faint: ugh. I hope you stayed on for the survey. Now when I speak with someone, I jot down the name and time of call. That is so wrong, giving you false info. I'd be inclined to phone and ask to speak with a supervisor.

I didn't do the survey. :sad2: I was in such a panic and kind of shocked by the whole exchange that I had to mull it over for a bit.

Hi Miss. Thanks for your thoughts on BWI. We loved our stay but it was in the cold months so the pool was out of the equation. I will keep in mind as I just booked a bounceback at BWI for next August. Maybe I should re-think. We love us some chill pool time. ... And I am so glad to hear you had a Sarah Milkshake. So sweet.

I agree Jen. My opinion only but: too much, too often, too sensitive. Kids need to learn conflict resolution themselves... and adults need to remember the difference between "kid stuff" and "crisis".

Oh Sheila, you know better than to talk about how awesome a resort is...especially to a group of resort changers!!! :rotfl2:

Another attempt to catch up....

Shelia - I hope today you are back to feeling 100%! Sounds like you have a great day planned! And oh the animals, I am sooo jealous ::yes::

SueM - hope you were able to make the change to POR! As you know weather here is so screwy and unpredictable, would hate to see you not have a pool and the weather to be perfect swimming weather.

Candace - oh these girls....but :rotfl: about the dance routine!!!!

Deena - have a MAGICal time :p and have a very Happy Anniversary!!!

Jeanette - good luck at the eye doc today!

Oh of course the school just called.....Steven isn't feeling well and I have an conference with Sarah's teacher in an hour. Begged him to try to make it for a bit longer. Gotta run to try to figure out how to deal with all this and the appts we have this afternoon with the ped and the psych. Never a dull day :sad2:

:grouphug:
Melissa

Hey everyone. Checking in from work. Yesterday was Daniel's psych and then we went shopping in jersey. Another $300 at Target. How?! I don't even understand. I have to go to Target again to pick up the new Call of Duty. :thumbsup2 I'm such a nerd lol

:lmao: Let me know how it is! They really should just have a guy waiting at the door in Target who you can hand all of your money to -- would make it a much quicker shopping experience. :rotfl2:

I just wasted a buncha dosh this weekend an Easy Bake Oven and one of those new fancy Nerf Bows. Thanks a LOT, Cartwheel. :rolleyes2

Changed again ladies. Changed again. So much for my revelations...there's always a new revelation...:p:rotfl2:

Spring break would be awesome..but crowded and more expensive. But F&G...decisions....where are you now? February??? Poly

Well last night I booked southwest for February!! But that's all I have booked. I found a 3 night cruise that fits perfectly into the weekend!

Basketlacey!: You and I both have to win the lottery!!!:thumbsup2 Book the cruise!!! Actually if I won I would buy us that RC compound in an instant!:p

You, my dear, along with Candace, Dani and Deena have been enabling me! Lol! I know you caught me over on the cruise board!

Lacey I say all the time I need to win the lottery but I never play:yay:

I don't play either! Maybe I need to start!

Final change on the books. Final. That's it. Our 5 nights at GF are now RPC TPV!!!! Can I squeal in excitement right now?!?! Oh, I already am!!! :lmao:

I'm behind so I'll take the blame - but I think you may have changed at least twice since this statement. :-) I think we need to take the word final out of your vocabulary!

WL CL is soooooooo evil!!!! The temptation is so great!!!! :rotfl: But, I will never be able to book 10 nights at RPC, so since this is a 5 night opportunity, I'm going for it!!! Even with the 40% discount though, the cost is :scared1: I'm not going to think about it though... We decided that if we like the cruise we might try cruising in odd years and Disney in even years. The plan is to book a longer 2015 cruise onboard our 2014 cruise....then April 2016 will finally be POLY CL!! Then 2017 a cruise....then JULY 2018 for my 40th birthday and STARWARS LAND!!! Probably BWI... I've got it all planned out, LOL!

I'm only planned out to Spring 2015 so you have me beat! Here are my plans - February, 2014 cruise or CR; July 2014 - BC or YC; October 2014 EPCOT resort for F&W, Spring Break 2015 DL for my 40th.

GF is always in my sights, and I truly love it there. But WL is so peaceful and DH adores it. CL is perfect for HRH and DS5 to decompress and relax, whereas SL and RPC aren't as quiet. As much as my girls love the lobby HRH gets antsy when there the orchestra is "too loud" or the lounge is too crowded :confused3 WL and AKL are the only places with nooks to chillax. I am afraid Poly DVC will do to the resort what VGF did to GF for me. But we shall see!!! We have plenty of time to change, and I'll be there soon enough to check things out! BWI is definitely on the radar as well...decisions decisions :rotfl: Yea...even with a 40% discount...RPC is like paying rack rate for a few other CL rooms, but IMO well worth it. Sarah used to say they put out special dinner snacks for the kiddos like chicken nuggets..and DH LOVED the fried raviolis at SL Ahhhhh scones and trifle :worship: DO NOT CHANGE CANDACE:goodvibes

I can't believe how much we loved WL. so much so, I'm trying to figure out which kid to leave at home so I can go back Bwaaahahaha.

So far the trip is going as planned. We arrived yesterday to be greeted at ME by the nicest CM who completed our checkin telling us we been upgraded to a Savannah View (sunset) and my request for near lobby was granted a room on the same floor as the lobby (3) with a view What could be better than that? Woooohooo! Have fun!

:rotfl2: She was checking out my beef (or Boeuf as they pronounce it in France).... then realized it was me :rotfl: Glad I got to see you before the RAIN!! Hope you had a good time!! LOOK AT MY TICKER!!! AHHHHHHH!! If you ever hang out on the cruise boards.... you'll know that I've had high anxiety---but high hopes for a great first experience!! I am creating a facebook page specifically for my photos and comments and I'll make sure I share with all!! I know I won't be able to commit to a TR, so this is the best way for me princess: Missing everyone!! Pas... I loved the photos the other day!!! How precious!! Miss those girls a bunch!! Give them a big :grouphug: for me!! Sheila!! Hope you have a great time!!

I hope you have a blast! What ship are you on? I definitely want to hear all about it!

So as it stands I have 3 different reservations off prop for Dec. DH drove me a little insane yesterday but thankfully our fearless leader Jeanette was there to talk me off the edge and help to make some ch-ch-changes, LOL! Changed again ladies. Changed again. So much for my revelations...there's always a new revelation...:p:rotfl2:

Um - we need more info than this please :-)

What a super fab bunch you ladies are. Thanks for the support.:grouphug: DD9 knows she has done nothing wrong but now has to figure out if she wants to remain in that unit. :guilty: Why that lady had to to wreck it for her I don't understand.

Jen

Hello all! :flower3: Hope everyone's week is moving well.

Eldest DD seems to have brought a cold home with her report card and I feel it slowly creeping through the house... Trying to make a buffer between her and our LO - it's harder than herding cats!

sjs - Noooo, don't tease the bull! *~* AK... so pretty... hmmmmmm *~*

jenny - I can totally sympathize! I work for our local school district and have worked as a counselor for teens with the Navy. It is so hard to balance the bullying line... often times we are forced to play the bully card for nothing and the truth is most bullying goes on out of the sight of teachers. I hope your DD doesn't let this get her down!

Um - we need more info than this please :-)

THIS!

Was on the phone with a CM and just about to commit to CR but I just can't justify the cost in my head. And DD just isn't excited about how CR looks - she loves the look of WL down to the playground by the beach.

She has also mentioned she's interested in AKL but DH and I decided to wait and see how the LO starts to respond to animals. Since there is usually availability at AKL, we figure as Peanut gets older, it might be worth considering a Savannah room so she can watch the animals from the balcony. Our oldest was OBSESSED with aquariums from 9 months, so we'll see how it goes. I would be willing to lug a stroller on the busses if it seemed like both girls could enjoy the savannah.:simba:

On a side note, good family friends are at WDW right now and LOVING IT! They're at the Poly and have been having a ball. It's first visit for most of them and I love seeing the pics pop up on Facebook... livin' vicariously!.:dance3:

For the record, we are at CR Atrium Club TPV prior to our cruise!!!! :cool1:

Have to share.....I just found a beautiful picture of the TPV at night with the castle lit up at night...I showed DD9 (who doesn't really care if the castle is outside the window, and who regularly makes fun of my crying episodes at Disney...). She looked at the picture and turned her face away very quickly...I asked what?? And she was a wee bit tears and said the castle looks so pretty, that would be the best night light!

jenny winding you a big  I hope things get better for DD

CandanceBob and I talked about still wanting to stay at CR and how every time I book there I end up changeing to somewhere else.

I like the newest RC:thumbsup2

So we had lunch at Sanna yesterday and all I can say delicious ! Our server was the Best!

MK did not go so well, Bob did not want to go on the rides I had FP+ for He can be a real PIA and B-O-R-E :rotfl2:

Dinner at LTT was good, Bob was happy with his 2 platters of meat

We went up to TT for the dessert party and he says "why did you book this again?"

Huh ? really ? Beacause you said you liked watching the Fireworks from there last year

Long story short we left and came back to the resort before the DP started.

AnywayI cancelled breakfast this morning and I may cancel the plans for the day He was up again all night I guess as he is still sleeping but today I am not even trying to wake him. Yesterday I finally got him up at 10:30 and lunch at Sanna was at 11:30.

Today is suppose to be a DHS with his picks of MM and Sci-Fi I honestly could care less about either one :rotfl:

Sorry for the vent but Bob gets me so mad I could Kill him. Between his memory and behavior I could just kill him!

Have a great Day Everyone :)
