Our little thread of BIG changes, the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

I hope I'm not barging in on your thread but have been reading (lurking?!?) for the past few days and wanted to say hi! :)
I've been stressing about changes I keep making to our upcoming plans and am so relieved to hear I'm not the only one!! My poor TA has been so patient but I worry that's wearing thin.
I'm still iffy about our plans, as my Mom and a friend might join us - and that could change our plans if they do/don't. Our past few trips we've stayed at ASMu and DDs love it. I kind of want to try something new but also kind of want to stick with what we know. . . I just can't decide!!
So anyway, "hi!" and thanks for letting me read along on your planning adventures and know that I'm not the only one pricing out different resorts each day! :)

:welcome: All are welcome here, no worries!!!! You are definitely not alone, there's NO shame in our game nor judgment here!:flower3: Pull up a chair, grab a beverage and get to know everyone! My TA may never book for me again, one and done :lmao:

CoreyGirl.. ALL are welcome here!! And we all have that waffling instinct here.:upsidedow Stick around, we will certainly be happy to enable you!! :rotfl2:

Krystal $100 for an extra WDW night??? DO IT!!!!:thumbsup2

I second this!! :thumbsup2 :cool1:

Aww. . thank you! :) (Still learning my way around DIS so haven't figured out how to add quote yet!)

We're booked at a value level (trying to keep costs relatively low as DH has some crazy medical expenses right now). What are your opinions on ASMovies and POP if we decide to switch it up?

DH has also talked about splurging a bit and we'd love to stay at WL. . . is that a good one for little ones? Thinking we could probably swing cost difference if we make the change now and budget accordingly.

I hear ya on the TA - I feel a little nervous any time I have to contact her for changes!! She's always great about it but I just feel bad! :confused3

Nice to meet you!

We'reeee booked! :cheer2::cheer2:

1st-15th March at CBR, 14 day ultimates and a couple of days at Universal too. This is going to be amazing. We can do Disney at a more leisurely pace then last trip.

Congrats! I've added you to the RC list :)

------------------------------------------------

If anyone else wants their plans included on the RC list (in Post #2 of this thread), just post your dates and resort (rest assured, it is not legally binding :rotfl2:)

Nice to meet you!

Hi nice to have you here! I happen to love POP and will be there as part of my crazy August split stay. Pop (I'm so funny) on over to the POP thread .... lots of good advice there. WL happens to be my favorite WDW resort ... so why am I not staying there in Aug .... it's so homey and comfortable .... reminds me of my beloved Lake Tahoe. I think WL is a great resort for little ones .... only a boat ride to Fort Wilderness for all those fun activities and a peaceful relaxing boat ride to MK. I love boats! :boat:

As for F! in September, yes I believe there is only one showing. It's at 8:30, I believe. We have the F! dinner package at Mama Melrose at 4:45pm. Never been!

Debating the F! package because there's only one showing... plus I'd rather have done it v. feel compelled to fight the masses in December. Hmmmmm....
As for MM, I have to say they are RIDICULOUSLY accommodating! I was lactose intolerant before kids (seriously... pregnancy was great for it!) and needed a special dining option when we did Backstage Magic and ate at MM. The chef came out and offered me some options. I was so unsure he made a 'sampler' of all three! And, when I felt guilty about the special entree with the rest of the group getting 'standard faire', he made a sampler for the rest of the group! Amazing service and good food.

 Welcome home!
Or the community board, disability boards...it's scary out there!
AGREED! I was on the Disability board before last trip because I was 8 weeks post hip surgery and it was CRAZY. Most were helpful but some seemed to hate my asking... sad really.
So I neglected to post by Poly RC, or the addition of AoA...but I have a new resort..
Contemporary!!!! We will be in 2 Garden Wing rooms! This is the only MK resort I have not stayed in and I am pretty darn excited!!!! DH and I LOVE Bay Lake and its peace and beauty. This will be amazing I know it! No construction, no worries about complaints of the GF. Perfecto!!!:cool1:
OOOH, fun! Always up for a ch-ch-change... esp one where my TA isn't grumpy! :cool1: And the GW rooms seem so nice!

We are staying at the POR in a Royal Guest room for the first part of our trip then going over to a Universal on-site hotel for 3 nights and then back to a Disney Resort for the last 4 or 5 nights of our stay. This won't be until January/February of 2015 but we are thinking to stay away from Poly with the chance of construction still going on.

I have it narrowed down to two. Contemporary or GF.
And here I'm stuck.

If you like the DL hotel, you'd probably prefer CR IMHO. With Chef Mickey's and the general 'feel' of CR, it reminded me a lot of DL Hotel when we were walking through. I feel like Grand Californian is when GF met WL. :) In fact, DH said "what goes on around Disney when the lights go out???" :lmao:

Either way I think you'll be happy - but walking to CR is a big bonus IMHO!

I will not change!!! I will not change!!! I will not change!!! And I will not worry about the construction at the Poly!!!

Don't you hate it when people start changing? You can't help but look at other choices. it's like a sneeze - you fight it and you fight it but it seems to come anyway!

NO NO NO, it will be fine Poly will be fine. It was the Hawaii building that I worried about...stay strong Mama:goodvibes

Like Dominos...we all fall in unison :rotfl:

There IS the CR :thumbsup2 NO, Poly....Poly Poly Poly....:thumbsup2

LOVES the dominos analogy!!! :rotfl:

Hmm...i seem to be getting a lag on the DIS app... Lots of changes going on here!! I'm having problems keeping up! :-) Bhyer - the villas are different than the regular rooms at GF, so I'm not sure just how far the studio would be from the main building with QS and the monorail, etc. As for me...was looking to switch to being there for the 4th but those flights are gone, SO...looking at 7/5-7/11 instead (adding a night) for only $100 more total!! Gotta check with DH... Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

ETA: of course I think Poly is cheaper, but I want CL!!

I was the same... I posted this AM and then *BOOM* everyone else did but it didn't show up until the last hour! I missed all my RCers C-C-Cing!

I hope I'm not barging in on your thread but have been reading (lurking?!?) for the past few days and wanted to say hi! :)

Never barging in! We're like the dark side but instead of cookies we have indecisiveness!

TGIF Peeps!

dimnigal1.. so sorry about thread drama... but its good that the OP PM's you. Best to avoid those and stay here in our comfortable RC home.
Agreed! I was really amazed she PMed me because it probably took a lot - goodness knows I hate admitting I'm wrong... all 3 times it's happened. :lmao:

:rotfl: Well Pas you have come full circle and are starting another one! :rotfl2: But truly you are in a great resort! No more changes! :goodvibes

Linda, we are not changing either!! Bring on the Poly!! :woohoo: Pas you will only be a monorail ride away.. it's all GOOD!!

Sam says she doesn't care that the pool will be closed...she love the parks/rides anyway....I think its nice we get to visit GF for swimming :). ::yes:: And Sam has always wanted to stay POLY and now she will be!! It will be so nice to just be able to stroll down to breakfast at 'Ohana!

So, if you come full circle does that mean that you never really changed and you get to start over???? :teacher:

Nice to meet you!

WL is a great resort for kiddos - so everyone has been so kind to remind me when I consider changing (our DDs will be 7 and 1). The lobby is super cute (little hot springs right there!) and the theming is very kid-appealing (I love the totems!) DD6 is super stoked about WL (she's the reason we haven't changed lately) and the geyser is just another fun perk!

*..............*....................*.................*................*.................*
The other night I got lost in dreams of CR TPV... Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

My useless information of the day .... WL, AKL and Grand Californian were all designed by the same architect.

:welcome: All are welcome here, no worries!!!! You are definitely not alone, there's NO shame in our game nor judgment here!:flower3: Pull up a chair, grab a beverage and get to know everyone! My TA may never book for me again, one and done :lmao:

Maybe when I become a TA, I should cater to the RCers out there since I SO understand the dilemma!! :-)

That's awesome information!
I definitely thought of the Grand Californian when I was looking through pictures of WL. One of the reasons we didn't pick WL is because we wanted to try something different than what we typically get at Disneyland. This will likely be our one and only trip to WDW. Of course when I did our first trip to Disneyland I said it was once in a lifetime and we went back twice more :)

Walking would be nice. And view of the fireworks.
But theme of the GF is so nice too. My daughter is all about the Disney magic. Loves the castle. We just went to see a Mary Poppins stage show. She loved it.
I think I need to flip a coin!!

We liked MM as well ... we ate there 2x both for F! pkg. My vote would be do it in September too. :)

Agreed! I was really amazed she PMed me because it probably took a lot - goodness knows I hate admitting I'm wrong... all 3 times it's happened. :lmao:

You're been wrong 3 times?? Oh that has to be off by 3!!

Yep! The slate is wiped clean!

Nice to meet you!

Had many stays at POP.. really like the theme and layout of the resort and the combo food court/everything pop. Fun for the kids too. :goodvibes

That being said, WL is wonderful, and tranquil and it would be so nice to be a boat ride away from MK. Happy waffling! :)

I'm back at the Beach Club Janet! :goodvibes

The change is in the books.... for today... :upsidedow

ADR ch-ch-change:
Sept trip
HS Day 1: H&V gone, replaced with 50's PT.
HS Day 2: MM F! package.

Only bummer is the F! package is ridiculous early (I had a 445 ADR initially and changed it to 50s PT right after and now we're at 4... oh well. We'll be snacking in EPCOT that morning v. an actual meal so we can eat at 4 and then grab a light bite after F!.

Good choice. We love 50's PT. H&V, not so much. (It's actually in our 3 NEVER AGAIN list) :crazy2:

*slight pout* DH never have me the go ahead yesterday when I asked about moving dates and adding an extra night...now this morning, once again the flights are gone... :-/

Ok, question...if we were to do a split stay with tickets and dining plan on the second part of the trip, is there a way to use the park tickets with the first half since they're linked to the bands? Or can you only use the bands you get for each "leg" of the trip? Does that make sense?

It does, I'm just not sure how it works with it the bands being linked to the second part of the trip.

Another busy week, and I'm so far behind yet again. There is a NASCAR race at the Texas Motor Speedway, so we aren't going anywhere this weekend. The inlaws left for the weekend, and won't be back until some time on Monday. The hubby saw part of an episode of Game of Thrones, and has finally decided to watch it with me. After watching the first episode a while back, I tried to get him to watch it with me, and he wouldn't. Luckily, they just started season 4, so we don't have that much to catch up on.

WL is really nice, there's a kiddie pool, the boat to MK. Lots of quiet areas to decompress and of course...a balcony. Budget wise, we LOVE POP!!

For Quote the little boxes on the bottom one is to quote, when you click it, it turns orange and when you hit post reply..it will quote the post. Did that even make sense LOL???

I'm back at the Beach Club Janet! :goodvibes
