Hmmm.... musing on your musings... I think it might be easier to do package now so that if DH and DD6 want to do F! in winter I can just take LO back to hotel v. waiting for late show. Plus, if ILs want to see F! I can grab both little ones and not miss out overall. Hmmmm... I read Easy WDW for the 4th and it looks like HS is best spot for Fireworks but that everyone rushes to the later showings of F! because of the fireworks. Still, I would imagine most people would aim for the 1030 show and the 11 would be emptier from everyone A) going to the early show and then watching fireworks, B) people watching fireworks from line for 1030 show, and the fact 11 is LATE for lots of kiddos. Can you do F! package at all for that night? I'd hate for you to miss out but am not sure how many people will have your idea of watching fireworks and then taking in later show. Wish we could have a crystal ball!!! I do have a friend that did Jedi Training on Christmas Eve and said she had to prep her son to RUUUN (I believe they need child there). My only fear is that you would get a mid-afternoon slot and are you prepared to do RD, mid-day Jedi and then late night festivities? I know for our crew that's a long day (we usually do midday break anytime staying after 10 in a park) but if it works for your group I say go for it!!!

Well, I'm thinking if we did the 4th there, we might need to stay based on park capacity...would have to play it by ear...DD can nap in stroller and we could take a break in the a/c somewhere...probably sleep in the next morning for sure!

Reward miles are now gone for the 2nd or 3rd...playing with numbers to see if it's doable or not (miles for half and paying for half). Otherwise my decision may have been made for me! :-/

As for F! in September, yes I believe there is only one showing. It's at 8:30, I believe. We have the F! dinner package at Mama Melrose at 4:45pm. Never been!

It's not worth getting involved in FP+ threads. Just not worth it. I told my Mum when she joined the DIS to keep away from Theme Parks for her own sanity.

Hi. I plan to go in August and try out several resorts. Thinking of POP, AoA, & Kidani.
Since it will be 3+ different resorts, will I get 3 separate sets of Magic Bands?
I will be booking Room Only w/ the summer special

Contemporary!!!! We will be in 2 Garden Wing rooms! This is the only MK resort I have not stayed in and I am pretty darn excited!!!! DH and I LOVE Bay Lake and its peace and beauty. This will be amazing I know it! No construction, no worries about complaints of the GF. Perfecto!!!

My TA is ready to ring my neck at this point, I think. She's being super nice about it, but I can totally tell that her smiley faces in her email are hiding her desire to kill me! I warned her!!!

I'm typically someone who has trouble making decisions but geez this is a happy decision and I NEED to settle on something. I have been spending soooo much time reading WDW Guides and looking on-line.

We are staying at the POR in a Royal Guest room for the first part of our trip then going over to a Universal on-site hotel for 3 nights and then back to a Disney Resort for the last 4 or 5 nights of our stay. This won't be until January/February of 2015 but we are thinking to stay away from Poly with the chance of construction still going on.

I have it narrowed down to two. Contemporary or GF.
And here I'm stuck.
It's just myself and my adult daughter.
Contemporary looks really convenient to walk to MK and there is easy quick service site for food and the view of the fireworks from the room looks amazing but kinda looks far away so not sure how often we would stay in the room to watch it or we will be out and about. I've been reading the reviews on trip advisor and I see frequent complaints about cleanliness. Wondering how serious that could be. And if anyone has experienced issues with hot water in the tower rooms.

Then there is the GF. At first I thought it looked too stuffy but my daughter thinks the lobby looks amazing. Especially the penguins in the fountain and the Mary Poppins theme. To stay there we would have to rent points and stay at the villas. Probably a studio. My daughter things this hotel looks a lot cleaner but is it really? Just wondering from people who have stayed at both CR and GF - did you see a difference in cleanliness? We loved the Disneyland Hotel in California. Found that was perfectly clean
And of course when I get looking at the villas I get to thinking a studio is big enough for two of us and then I look at the one bedroom and see the amazing bathrooms and think geez it would be nice to have an awesome tub like that at the end of a long day walking but OMG the prices and we don't need a kitchen.
But still..... bathrooms look really nice!!!
Not sure what there is for quick service options at the GF.
And not sure if I'm too late to rent points for GF.

My TA is checking on if we could move back to the BC. That would make him happy.

I've never stayed at CR, but I've yet to heard negative reviews about it. GF is lovely, there is a QS which was recently redone. Gasparilla's and it's yummy. Then there is GF café which is TS but has last minute availability and it is more casual than the other TS at GF. I love the décor of the villas over the new décor of the rooms. It is not a large resort, so being outside it's a problem. For fireworks CR is your best bet, it's an amazing view or easy walk from MK. The monorail and boats to the resorts after park close are Both the threads for CR and GF are by two VERY SWEET and helpful ladies, so I would definitely look through them a bit! Happy planning!!

Hmm...i seem to be getting a lag on the DIS app... Lots of changes going on here!! I'm having problems keeping up! Bhyer - the villas are different than the regular rooms at GF, so I'm not sure just how far the studio would be from the main building with QS and the monorail, etc. As for me...was looking to switch to being there for the 4th but those flights are gone, SO...looking at 7/5-7/11 instead (adding a night) for only $100 more total!! I hope I'm not barging in on your thread but have been reading (lurking?!?) for the past few days and wanted to say hi!
I've been stressing about changes I keep making to our upcoming plans and am so relieved to hear I'm not the only one!! My poor TA has been so patient but I worry that's wearing thin.
I'm still iffy about our plans, as my Mom and a friend might join us - and that could change our plans if they do/don't. Our past few trips we've stayed at ASMu and DDs love it. I kind of want to try something new but also kind of want to stick with what we know. . . I just can't decide!!
So anyway, "hi!" and thanks for letting me read along on your planning adventures and know that I'm not the only one pricing out different resorts each day!

Well Pas you have come full circle and are starting another one! But truly you are in a great resort! No more changes!

Linda, we are not changing either!! Bring on the Poly!! Pas you will only be a monorail ride away.. it's all GOOD!!

Sam says she doesn't care that the pool will be closed...she love the parks/rides anyway....I think its nice we get to visit GF for swimming . And Sam has always wanted to stay POLY and now she will be!! It will be so nice to just be able to stroll down to breakfast at 'Ohana!

Hi bhyer haven't stayed at either one but really you can't go wrong with those choices... maybe it will come down to discounts?? The GF does seems like a great place for a girls trip though .. so pretty... as Pas says, GF Cafe is a nice place to get a last minute ADR.. and you are a monorail away from CR for lots of TS opportunities.

So cool you are going to Universal! WE visited in 2012 and loved WWoHP. And the new expansion will be open. Fantastic!
