~Our June '09 adventure~ I'm home! Started TR 7/2

I actually liked Sounds Dangerous when I went with friends in 2001. You wear headphones and the rooms pitch-black, and there's all special effects that make you feel like you're right in the middle of the action even though you can't see anything. It's pretty cool, but we haven't done it since 2005!

I thought Tiki Room was fine, and it is a nice, cool place to get out of the summer sun. I think the Tiki Room song is cute.

Sounds Dangerous would be kind of in the same category as Stitch. I've done them each once, and that was enough.

As you can see by the variety of responses you're getting - what might not be fun to one can be nice for another. It's great that there are so many choices!

We did Sounds Dangerous back in 2003 and it was basically a great time for the kids to take a nap. I really wanted to get up and leave but thought it would be disrespectful so we stayed. Never again:sad2:

I've never done Stitch, the Tiki Birds, or Sounds Dangerous, but I want to do the Tiki Room just so I can spend the rest of the day annoying my friend who is going with us, lol.

OMG...I absolutely LOATHE Sounds Dangerous. It is my LEAST favorite attraction at WDW. I'd rather go on Stitch a dozen times then do this once more. :scared: My friend and I suffered through it once and during the middle of it we seriously contemplated getting up and walking out. It was THAT boring. Unfortunately, we were in the middle of the row and would've had to climb over a ton of people to make our escape. It's just so...pointless. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS...SERIOUSLY!!!!

Haha, okay sounds like I won't miss it!

Okay, Tink, if you think the Tiki Birds are a waste of time, you'll REALLY hate this one! :lmao:

This one features Drew Carey, and basically, you go in a theater and they show this video where Drew is going undercover and investigating...something. Haha, I don't really remember the details. Anyways, I don't think he's playing himself in this one, but some sort of private investigator or something. Anyway, the gag is that he's wearing a hidden camera. Well, a few minutes into the show, Drew does something to the camera so that you lose the visual of him, but you can still hear him fumbling around and talking to people. So you're sitting in the PITCH BLACK (You literally can't see your hand in front of your face, if I remember right...), and you wear these headphones so that you can hear Drew and all of these different sound effects that "sound dangerous." ;) The headphones make everything seem REALLY LOUD, if I remember correctly. I also think there's an introduction from a CM who shows you how they make some simple sound effects for the movies before the Drew video starts.

Personally, I thought it was pretty silly because you're just sitting in the dark listening to Drew Carey when you could be riding Tower of Terror. There were a few cute jokes, but if you hate the dark and loud noises, you definitely won't like it. DEFINITELY don't spend more than two minutes waiting for it to start because it's just one of those things that you do once and are like, "Okay that was...interesting. Remind me to never do it again!" :rotfl2:

Ugh, doesn't sound like fun at all! Thanks for explaining it.

That's cool though that it feels like you're in the action!

Yeah, everyone has their own opinions!

Sounds like I'm skipping this!

Never done Sounds Dangerous... but I don't feel like I'm missing out on too much!

Haha, glad I'm not the only one who hasn't done it.

Haha, the song does get in your head from the Tiki Birds!

NEW SHOES!

Hey everyone! We were at Famous Footwear today and I saw these shoes and had to get them for WDW just in case my flip-flops start blisters or something on my feet. Hope you guys like them!

Cute new sneakers! Ok, I need to get to work catching up!! I am so behind, sorry about that, but I will do my best to get to everything I missed the next couple days!

Racecars: I think my favorite memory is from a few years ago when I got into my car and it promptly broke. Would not move at all!! The CMs were yelling at me to GO but I couldn't, my family was laughing at me. Finally the thing went, but about 2 mphs for the entire track! I was so mad then, but looking back it is funny!

Lilo and Stitch: Yuck, the smell of the corndogs makes me want to gag. We did this once and won't go back!

It's Tough to Be a Bug: The first year AK opened, mom and I freaked out and jumped out of our seats at the end when the bugs "crawl" under your seats. I still jump a little, it gives me the creeps!!

Tiki Room: I remember thinking this was SO cute as a kid, then doing again years later as a teenager and laughing at how dorky it was. We've also walked out mid show, but at least it never has a wait ;)

Sounds Dangerous: We did this once and it was really not that funny. I really can't remember the details, it was a looong time ago!

Ok, now I'm going out of order, but i know I missed:

Splash Mountain-OMG this one is my favorite. Our funniest memory was the first time my DS road at age 6. We went down the first little fall and she cries out "Was that the big one?!". Very cute and funny, and DD caught it on video tape.

Space Mountain: Last year we rode this twice in a row, our first ride after DF proposed to me. The CM loading us into the rocketship was super excited to see our just engaged buttons, and when we came back through the line the second time she yelled out "Your back!". She was hilarious.

Mission Space: I love the feeling of the launch, the butterflies from the G force make me crap up every time! The first time I ever rode it will always be the best!!

Peoplemover: We love this one too! We got stuck on it in the space mountain part once, right where you are between the two tracks watching people whiz by. It was very cool to sit and watch and wave to people!

Ok, I know there's more, so I'll be back soon to finish up! Hope you are doing well Tinkgurl :goodvibes

I have the same shoes, except mine are the full - not with the back cut out. Those are the ones DM bought me not knowing they're for our trip; I've worn them a couple times already and they are AMAZING! Fantastic choice!!

Catching up...

Race Cars...We spent an am EMH in Tomorrowland. We walked right onto the cars. DH drove his own and I let DS (then 6) drive me. It was absolutely hilarious. He couldn't reach the gas, of course, I was pushing it for him. He couldn't make the car go straight, we just bumped back and forth the whole way. He keep yelling, Faster, Momma, Faster, make it go faster Momma! I don't think you are supposed to, but we totally creamed into DH at the end! DS REALLY loved that!

Stitch...We did it. We didn't care for it. DH and I rode the Alien Encounter on our honeymoon. It was so incredible. We absolutely LOVED it, had never been on anything like it before. We were so bummed that they changed it.

Tiki Birds...OK. So I was seriously thinking that we might do that this time around. If only for a sit down break with a/c, but everyone's comments are seriously making me rethink that idea.

Sounds Dangerous...never been. Never wanted to. Don't want to even more after reading comments.

Hope you are having a great Spring Break. We are on Spring Break too!

I like your new shoes! Totally cute.

Those are so cute! They're Skechers right?? I love Skechers!

Whoa! You did ALOT of catching up! Glad you like my new shoes! They are so comfy.

OMG your racecar broke down?! Haha. I didn't even know that was possible!

The chillidog smell on Stitch makes me gag too!

Haha, "Was that the big one?" That's so cute!

Aw I bet that was so exciting to show off your 'Just engaged!' buttons!

Oh my gosh! I didn't realize that they were the shoes your DM bought you without knowing what they were for! That's so funny!

I am loving Spring Break! I can't believe it's already Wednesday though. In half an hour, the little guy is coming here for the day!

Aw, I remember riding the racecars when I was younger with my parents. Me and my sis had to take turns who would sit with mom and who would sit with dad. We have so many pictures of whoever was with dad in his car turning around and waving at mom. Some of my favorites!

What was Alien Encounter like?

Those are so cute! They're Skechers right?? I love Skechers!

Haha glad you like the shoes! Yep they are Sketchers. I love that they're slip on ones so I don't have to wear socks with them!

Attraction of the Day...

Muppets 3D

I used to love the Muppets when I was younger! I also loved the Muppet Babies cartoon that was on. I remember my first time watching the show, I thought it was so cool!

Muuuppet Baaaabies they make our dreams come truuuuue...

...I was just singing to you! haha

Did this in 05, liked it and will do it next month :goodvibes

OMG, the Muppet Babies were AWESOME. I loved that show! :lovestruc

Muppets 3-D :3dglasses never fails to make me laugh. I start laughing during the preshow (Rizzo the Rat dressed as Mickey cracks me up!) and I don't stop until after we've left. :goodvibes

LOVE the shoes, btw. When I was in high school, I was a Sketchers snob. :snooty: All of my tennis shoes HAD to be Sketchers. :rolleyes1 I love that yours don't have the back on them. Perfect for summer! :thumbsup2

I LOVe The Muppets! They've been my favorite since I was little  I don't remember much about the attraction though, we haven't done it since '05. It's cute though!
