~Our June '09 adventure~ I'm home! Started TR 7/2

Girllllll I'm hating you right now as I sit in class learning about suburbanization (SOOO EXCITING! :headache: ) and you're home and you just woke up!

Howeverrrrr, I'm so glad that you just posted how bad you think the Tiki birds are because I would have went to do them and been so mad that I wasted our time! :lmao:

Hey girl! I wish they would make it a Lilo & Stitch ride too! I love them together.

Did you have a good weekend? Mine went WAY too fast. But this week I'm on Spring Break! :woohoo: I just woke up.

Ohhhh lucky you just waking up! Any big plans for spring break? My weekend was good. Nothing too exciting. It was beautiful here this weekend and the snow is finally starting to melt so that was good!

Haha, hope your class is going by fast! :thumbsup2 It was a late night for us last night. The pageant went on FOREVER...and then we went and ate at Applebee's! Yum.

Ugh, don't do the Tiki birds!!!! We could go on it next year just to torture our B/F's! :rotfl2:

Any plans? Wednesday the little guy is coming over here all day! :woohoo: He now calls grandma "grandma dearest" and after eating supper says "Thank-you that was a good supper". Oh and this past week, he locked himself in the car with the only set of keys! Friday, sis doesn't have school, so mom is taking off work and we're going shopping with grandma for some new outside stuff for the little guy and then going out to eat!

Attraction of the Day...

Tiki Birds

Haha...the Tiki Birds! :scared: So a long time ago, mom made us go on it because we never had before. This was before they changed it and added Iago and everything. People were getting up and leaving in the middle of it. We were one of them. We've made fun of mom ever since for that. Back on my B/F's first trip to WDW, we decided to go on it and see if it was any different with the changes....Nope. Not much changes. Everytime we are walking by it, we always say "Hey mom, want to do the Tiki birds?!" And she gives us a glare. :rotfl:

HAHA!!! My story is almost the exact same! EXCEPT...

It takes place in Disneyland.

:)

It wasn't all THAT bad, just a waste of time when Splash Mountain and Haunted Mansion are right around the corner.

My classes are NOT going by fast lol I have 3 midterms and a paper due next week and then another midterm the following Monday! idk when I'm going to have time to do it all, I might have to ask to leave work a few hours early or something one day this week. :guilty:

How'd your sis do in the pageant? Applebee's yummyyyy :thumbsup2

We will def go to the Tiki birds next year to annoy them haha One problem...I'm scared of birds!

Haha, that's so funny! Glad I'm not the only one who hates the Tiki Birds!

3 midterms AND a paper?! Ugh. Summer sounds so nice right now!!!

Sis did good. She got the People's Choice Award!! She was just happy getting that so she wasn't too upset she didn't win. But, they didn't even do 2nd or 3rd places! If they would've done that, I think she would've been one of those two.

Well if you get scared...you know I'll hold your hand! :)

i'm way behind!

stitch - um, no thanks! never done it and don't have any desire to. from what i hear it's completely awful and unenjoyable. my vote is that they change this to a wall-e themed ride.

it's tough to be a bug - the first time i saw this was with erin. she is TERRIFIED of spiders and when they spiders dropped down from the ceiling she had her face buried in my shoulder. there was one right above our heads and i kept saying, "erin, just look up....please!!!!" and she wouldn't do it. this show is ALWAYS crazy with people screaming because there's so many surprises.

tiki birds - yeah, no thanks again! i've done this twice in the last 5 trips and that's enough for a lifetime! ray and i did it our first trip in may of 2007 because it's something we remember as kids. we just had forgotten how lame it was! then erica wanted to do it last september and i went along because it was a nice break from the heat and a good place for a nap! :lmao:

Oooh! A Wall-E ride would be perfect in Tomorrowland!!!

ITTBAB is hilarious listening to everyone scream.

Haha, a nap and a/c are good reasons to only do the tiki birds!

Attraction of the Day...

Splash Mountain

I remember going on this one the first time and being SO SCARED of the big drop. I remember actually shaking while standing in line. But when we went inside the mountain and saw Brer Rabbit and stuff, I just started laughing along and having fun, and by the time we got to the big drop I was PUMPED! It was so fun, and now Splash is one of my favorites!

Attraction of the Day...

The People Mover (TTA)

We llllllllllllllllllllllllove this ride! :lovestruc I can't tell you how many times we ride it a trip. We have the whole spiel down and everything. This is also a ride where sis and I like to take random pictures. :rotfl: For example:

WaltDisneyWorld07273.jpg

Haha, anybody else do this?!

I just love the pics of you and your sister acting goofy. :goodvibes You two are too funny!

I think we've talked about this before but our family is also obsessed with TTA. We ride it a LOT. I don't what it is about it, but we just think it's so much fun! My favorite lines from the spiel are "Paging Tom Morrow, Mr. Tom Morrow..." and "Now entering...SPACE MOUN-TAIN!!!" Oh, and when my brothers and uncle are with us, they like to wave and yell "HEEEEEEEEY!" at trains on the opposite track. Sometimes people laugh and wave back, but most of the time we just get weird looks. :rotfl2:

Attraction of the Day...

Star Tours

B/F and I went on this one for our first time back in '07..I'm claustrophobic so I was freaking out the whole ride...I don't remember much! I just remember digging my nails into B/F's arm!

I think I've only been on Star Tours twice, and the first time was bad because I had a headache when we went in, and the bumpiness of the ride made it 10x worse. I had a migraine for the rest of the day. :headache: I liked it much better the second time we rode it though. But that's probably because I'm not claustrophobic!

Attraction of the Day...

Mission Space

I rode the green side with my brother once. Both my brothers and my uncle rode the original M:S (now the orange side) three or four times in a row without breaking a sweat so they all love it. My youngest brother came with me, Aunt C, and my mom on several trips, and he'd ride it over and over again by himself while we shopped in the WS stores (My aunt is claustrophobic and my mom has inner ear issues and she wasn't sure the green side would be "tame" enough.). Well, I felt bad for him having to do it by himself so I rode it, and even though we were just doing the green side, I was FR-EAKING OUT. I was so afraid that I would get sick. I calmed down a little bit in the preshow though as soon as Lieutenant Dan came on the screen. :lmao: Luckily the ride was not as bad as I thought and even kind of fun! Plus, I could tell my brother liked sharing it with me so it was a nice big sister/little brother moment for us.

Attraction of the Day...

The Racecars

Yeah, I know that's not the real name of them but that's what we call them. I'll never forget riding with my sis the first time she was big enough to drive them. It was a jerky ride! We kept going back and forth bumping the bumper from each side. She was being so serious and trying to drive good. It was cute! :cutie:

And then...back in '05 when it was my B/F's first time at WDW, he couldn't wait to ride the racecars. He's a big NASCAR and racing fan so he was pumped. Well, I failed to mention that they are S-L-O-W. :rolleyes1 So, I rode with him (yes we fit in the car haha) and the whole time he was like "C'mon! Why isn't this thing going any faster?!" and freaking out. And then he goes "I think a snail just passed us."

Haha, you're BF is too funny!

The first time I rode this after I learned how to drive, I rode with my mom and drove the cart, and I couldn't keep that thing in a straight line for the life of me. I was TERRIBLE. My mom teased me for the rest of the trip about needing to have my license taken away. :rolleyes1

Attraction of the Day...

Stitch

Okay, who else thinks that they should change this into a Lilo & Stitch ride about the movie?! I think that would be so awesome!

We've only been on this one time and that was enough! I had read on here before we went about the chilli-dog burp so I plugged my nose for that part! It just wasn't fun at all. I'm claustrophobic so I hated being strapped in like that over my shoulders. They came down so low on me that I had to slouch! It was annoying.

No specific memories here. Stitch is terrible. Alien Encounter was so much better. It was scary but funny at the same time. I would love to see a Lilo and Stitch ride though! That would be fun!

Attraction of the Day...

It's Tough to be a Bug

I LOVE that this is inside the Tree of Life. I just always thought that was so cool. The actual attraction is kinda cute, but I'm not a big bug person so some of it creeps me out!

OMG, the part at the end where the bugs crawl right under your butt...?

:scared1:

I HATE it. I will actually hold myself up off my chair just so that I can't feel them because the first time we did this I was traumatized. :rotfl:

Attraction of the Day...

Not much changes. Everytime we are walking by it, we always say "Hey mom, want to do the Tiki birds?!" And she gives us a glare. :rotfl:

Aw, we love the Tiki birds! But admittedly, we love it for its kitschy and corny jokes and songs. I love the end when they tell you to "Get on your feet...and get out!" :rotfl2:

Plus, it's an AWESOME place to cool off in the heat. They've got good A/C in the Tiki Room!!!

Hoooo boy. The Tiki Room.

I hate this. My mother loves this. We end up doing it every trip of course.:rotfl:

See, it is similar to IASW to me in that it is musical and I cannot get the music out of my head for ages and ages. However, it has an element of creepiness and birdiness that I do not like. I don't know. I just find it strange LOL.

Aw..I'm sorry your mom likes the tiki birds!

OK first of all, the elevators only smell like vomit because there is throw up IN THEM! All the freshman who go out drinking with their fake ID's and don't know how to control themselves come back on the weekends and throw up in the elevators. It's gross. MOVING ON...

Tough to be a Bug - This was way more entertaining when I was younger for some reason, now it is just uncomfortable and so many kids scream and cry while I'm in there.

Tiki Birds - NEVER done this!! But it seems like I'm not missing out!

You are right, there's always crying and screaming during ITTBAB!

Haha, you aren't missing out at all on the tiki birds!

Am on board trying to catch uppopcorn::

Hello and Welcome!!! Glad to have you with us.

Attraction of the Day...

Sounds Dangerous

I've never done this one at DHS..Can anyone tell me about it?

OMG...I absolutely LOATHE Sounds Dangerous. It is my LEAST favorite attraction at WDW. I'd rather go on Stitch a dozen times then do this once more. :scared: My friend and I suffered through it once and during the middle of it we seriously contemplated getting up and walking out. It was THAT boring. Unfortunately, we were in the middle of the row and would've had to climb over a ton of people to make our escape. It's just so...pointless. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS...SERIOUSLY!!!!

Okay, Tink, if you think the Tiki Birds are a waste of time, you'll REALLY hate this one! :lmao:

This one features Drew Carey, and basically, you go in a theater and they show this video where Drew is going undercover and investigating...something. Haha, I don't really remember the details. Anyways, I don't think he's playing himself in this one, but some sort of private investigator or something. Anyway, the gag is that he's wearing a hidden camera. Well, a few minutes into the show, Drew does something to the camera so that you lose the visual of him, but you can still hear him fumbling around and talking to people. So you're sitting in the PITCH BLACK (You literally can't see your hand in front of your face, if I remember right...), and you wear these headphones so that you can hear Drew and all of these different sound effects that "sound dangerous." ;) The headphones make everything seem REALLY LOUD, if I remember correctly. I also think there's an introduction from a CM who shows you how they make some simple sound effects for the movies before the Drew video starts.

Personally, I thought it was pretty silly because you're just sitting in the dark listening to Drew Carey when you could be riding Tower of Terror. There were a few cute jokes, but if you hate the dark and loud noises, you definitely won't like it. DEFINITELY don't spend more than two minutes waiting for it to start because it's just one of those things that you do once and are like, "Okay that was...interesting. Remind me to never do it again!" :rotfl2:
